•SANTINO•

“There has been nothing about Valentino’s death, sir. Seems like the police are still trying to crack the case about his death, but they won’t find anything.”

“That’s good. Thank you, Paul,” I answered on the phone as I got into my car in the morning.

I hadn’t had time to find out what happened to Valentino after I got shot, and I hoped Camilla wouldn’t try to find out what happened to him because of her minor rebellion against me.

“I talked with Tony earlier, sir, and he’s with her.”

“That’s better. Are you sure none of her family knew who she left with?” I drove out of the driveway and headed to Brooklyn, where my guest waited.

“They won’t know where she went until they can’t reach her on her cell phone. It will probably take them some time to notice she’s missing because it won’t be the first time she has left them for a few days.”

“Of course.” I rolled my eyes. “I’ll call you later, Paul. I need to handle this myself. If there’s anything that needs my attention, text me.

•SASHA•“Hmm, yes...” I moaned, finally reaching my second orgasm, and Mateo collapsed next to me, gasping for air.“So, how did you know Lucius and his mother lied to you?” I asked as I rolled over and rested my head on Mateo’s chest. He kissed my forehead and sighed before he answered. “I knew when his mother refused to let me come to my father’s funeral. She went as far as giving me fifty thousand dollars to stay away from them. I don’t think anyone could be so desperate to get rid of someone if they weren’t a threat. So, I did my investigation, and I was right.”“Oh. You didn’t think of confronting him when you found out?”“No, I wanted to give him time to realize I knew. I don’t want his money, Sasha. I have my own, and I work my ass off for every penny I have. My father didn’t want me anyway, so what’s the point of fighting for something that wasn’t meant to be mine? He probably left everything to me because he felt guilty.”“If you don’t want his money, then why do you want his

•CAMILLA•I leaned against the window frame on the second floor and watched as Santino got inside his car and left.He slept on the couch last night because we had officially broken up. My heart felt heavy when his car drove away, and I wondered why he could never say it.We were married for five years, and we made it while he kept trying to win my heart. There wasn’t a day he didn’t apologize and try to fix things between us.Rolling my eyes, I walked back to my bed and decided I wouldn’t bother myself with Santino anymore. He had decided, and I didn’t want to dwell on it when I had a lot of things on my plate to focus on.Francesca.I took my cell phone from the counter and called Sakai. He was the eldest and had met Albert’s children a few times before their parents divorced, and their mother moved away with them.“Camilla?” He answered the call.“Hey, we need to talk.”“What is it? Is it about Paxton? He called me as well and told me everything about Cecilia and Asher. I saw this

•CAMILLA•“Wyatt?” I answered the door, wearing Santino’s shirt, and my heart raced. “My God,” I scoffed. “What are you doing here?”I was basically naked underneath the shirt. Santino and I sent the housekeepers, Naya, Nico, and his nanny for a little getaway so that we would have the house to ourselves, and I felt it sucked. They left early in the morning after Santino and I spent the night together. We wanted to see if we could talk things out and reach a final decision about our relationship.Truth be told, I couldn’t resist him, even though every part of me knew I shouldn’t be with him.“Our date?” He looked at me, disappointment covering his face, and my eyes opened wide. The security team outside the house never alerted us about any particular visitors, and forgetting my date with Wyatt left me speechless. It was almost sunset, and my date with Wyatt was supposed to have been two hours ago. I felt bad. I stood him up, and he had to come to my house and find me in my ex-husband’

•CECILIA•“Answer your phone, damnit!” I snapped, pacing in my bedroom, calling Casey, who didn’t answer my calls. The situation pushed me to the edge, and I felt desperate. Daniel and Asher were no longer on my side, and if I wanted anything to go my way, I had to listen to them and follow their lead, which was something I didn’t want to do.“Hello? Who’s this?” Casey asked after she had finally answered my call.I scoffed. “You’ve finally answered the call, ma’am. Is that how I’m supposed to address you since you saw it would be best to tear my family apart? Has this been your plan all along?”“Plan?” She chuckled. “You seem to forget all the promises you made me, Aunt Cecilia. I risked my life and reputation for you. Instead of keeping the end of your deal, you cast me aside and left me with nothing to fend for myself and my mother.”“The deal was to pay you once you’ve done everything we planned, bastard!” I snapped. “I could’ve given the job to anyone, but because I wanted the be

•CAMILLA•“Oh my God, what happened after, Dad? Did the elephant die?”“He didn’t die, Nico. His father saved him from the flood and saved his life, and they lived happily ever after.”I smiled as I leaned against the door frame while Santino was reading Nico a bedtime story. He was so good with him and I couldn’t ask for a better father for my son than him.“Do you think my real father can be in my life? Mom said he can’t because he’s not a good man.”My heart skipped a beat, and I leaned back, covering my mouth so I wouldn’t make a sound and make them aware of my presence.“Oh, bud. Are you still thinking about him?” Santino asked, and I could hear the hurt in his tone.We never expected that Lucius would find out about Nico so soon. We never prepared for the day we had to sit him down and tell him the truth. He was five years old, and we thought we had time to do that someday when he could understand things better.I couldn’t imagine how Santino was feeling. He probably felt like h
