Jane washed her face, took a moment to gather herself, then straightened up and hugged him.

"Stop reflecting on yourself already, hearing it makes my pregnancy symptoms worse."

The tactic worked well, as she didn’t hear any more apologies from him afterward.

Without hesitation, Zachary replied, "It’s because pregnancy is hard on you. If you hadn’t agreed to have the baby, I wouldn’t have kept—"

It didn’t matter. After all, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.Whitney could only apologize. The young girl quickly said, “I was just joking, why are you taking it seriously?”“I’m just a friend talking to you, you’re not actually treating me like a psychologist, right? Look at my age—if I told others what to do, would they really believe me?”Whitney knew these were just comforting words. She could still judge whether the girl was truly a psychologist or not.Georgina wouldn’t casually send just any girl to chat with her.“I really appreciate what you’re doing. I heard what you said and tried it, but it didn’t work. He deserves better.”The young girl was puzzled. “How do you know he deserves better? And why do you think you’re not good enough?”Whitney smiled bitterly, but didn’t answer. The young girl handed her a glass of wine. “If you don’t want to talk, just drink.”Whitney took it. “Alright.”Nearby, Yvonne showed Georgina a video sent by B

Her backpack and shoes were thrown outside.‘Fine...’ She grabbed her bag and got into her own car.Seeing it was still early, she rang Georgina.Georgina told her to come directly to the hot spring resort.Whitney first went back to her rented house, packed her luggage and the cat into the car, then drove over. She could set off from the hot spring resort tomorrow.Dianne was still a little worried about Whitney’s transfer and came to Caleb’s place. When she saw Whitney enter, she thought the two of them were going to talk and didn’t want to disturb. But just after she got home and before dinner was finished, the person keeping an eye on things said that Whitney had left. How quickly Whitney left made her feel something was off and drove over to check. No one answered when she knocked, so she entered using the password. The dining room was a mess, and there was no sign of Caleb. She called someone to clean up and tried calling Caleb. He didn’t answer. She frowned. She f

It seemed that no matter what she said, he would still lash out.Whitney took a deep breath and said calmly, “Whatever anger you have, just let it out.”“It’s my fault and I’m not denying it.”Caleb set down his cutlery and elegantly wiped his mouth. With a touch of cold interest in his voice, he asked, “Your fault? Go on, I’d like to hear it.”Whitney felt he was doing it on purpose. He was so smart, and she had been deliberately distant lately. How could he not know what she was apologizing for?If he didn’t know, why would he be angry?“Have you finished?” she asked.Caleb sneered but said nothing.Whitney stood up to clear the table. As she reached over to take his plate, he suddenly grabbed her.The custom-made dish shattered on the floor with a loud crash.Just as expected, she fell straight into the man’s arms.“What are you doing?” she asked.Caleb stared at her, gaze burning, filled with undisguised desire.Whitney panicked, bracing both hands against his shou

Lucifer also received Georgina’s message and said to Caleb, “Originally, my wife invited your wife, but your wife turned her down to keep her arrangements with you.”Caleb didn’t feel happy. But he still nodded.Whitney sent over an address.Caleb added his condition. "Not eating out."Whitney replied, "Let’s go to your place. I’ll cook."It was their wedding house, their home. Now, every time she mentioned that place, it was “your place,” as if constantly drawing a line between them.He couldn’t understand her. Then why did she still ask him to dinner?Given how things were, it wouldn’t have mattered if she had just ignored the whole arrangement. After all, it wasn’t like keeping this one promise really made a difference anymore. But he was pathetic. He knew this would likely be their last dinner together, and he still wanted to go.He wanted to hear what else she had to say. What if—just maybe—she didn’t want to let him go completely?Maybe she still had a place for h

Jane said, “Exactly. I told him to eat carrots, but he wouldn’t listen. But when Sparrow told him, he did as he was told.”Whitney greeted Henry. “Hello there.”Henry replied, “Hello...”Whitney couldn’t help but soften her tone. “He’s so cute.”Jane teased, “You can give birth to one as well.”Whitney nodded. “If I get the chance.”Jane hadn’t expected that—she thought Whitney would change the subject.“Looking forward to it.”The two of them chatted about family matters until Georgina called.“Georgina.”Georgina said, “I just got back. I’ll come pick you up to have dinner with Yvonne. Millie will be there too, and that new girl you met last time.”The new girl was the psychologist. But if she went to dinner with them, then the plan she had made with Caleb for tonight would fall through. And she was leaving the next day.“Do you already have plans?” asked Georgina.“No problem. Do what you have to first. We’ll visit you in Jisaston later.”Whitney told the truth. “I di

Jisaston was not far from Yelar, and Whitney still had a cat, so she planned to drive there herself. But just as she parked the car, someone showed up.Caleb pulled open the driver’s door, bent down, and got in, pinning her against the seat. The corners of his eyes were red, clearly showing his anger.“Did you forget you had plans with me this weekend?”“I didn’t forget.” Whitney’s expression was blank. “Once I’m done packing, I’ll meet you tonight. I won’t ghost you.”The veins on the back of Caleb’s hand bulged, but he still couldn’t do anything to her.“Now you can’t even be in the same city as me?”He was about to explode, but when he spoke, his voice carried a note of vulnerability.Whitney said, “I thought the divorce was enough to express how I felt.”Caleb had thought that with so many people telling him relatable stories, with her visible hesitation and inner conflict, he could give her some time, wait for her to figure things out, and come back to him on her own.B
