“I did a good job putting you in that room, you know!” Amelia uttered to Julia, her words causing Julia's heart to race rapidly.

With a swift move, Julia turned around to face Amelia, who had a cunning and devilish smile on her face. Julia tried so hard, she tried her best to shove the thoughts aside.

She tried her best to convince herself that Amelia was just bluffing. She didn't mean anything she was saying at that moment, but how could she ignore the fact that her sister was the one responsible for her secret affair five to six years ago?

“What did you just say?” Julia's eyes squinted as she questioned, her lips trembling in both fear and shock.

“You heard me right, Julia… I was never happy seeing you have Logan all to yourself. And you know what? I am glad he saw the evil in you. I'm glad he left you,” she taunted, her words infuriating Julia this time.

She clenched her fist, her eyes becoming moist as she listened to her sister, Amelia. If there was anything Julia expected from Amelia, it definitely wasn't this. Not framing her.

“How low could you have stooped, Amelia? How low?” Her voice was shaky as she spoke up, trying to maintain her tone. “Why are you so wicked? What did I ever do to you?” Julia snapped, tears beginning to trickle down her cheek.

“What you did?” Amelia scoffed, licking her lower lip. She was just doing this to get into Julia's head. Amelia knew pretty well that to punish Julia, she needed to bring up the past.

“You did everything, Julia! You made yourself so perfect! You wanted them to see you as the good child while I was useless. Worthless. You had everything you wanted, and that included Logan Steele,” Amelia explained her anger.

“I couldn't let you have him all to yourself. Besides, what's that saying… ‘Share with your dearest sister.’ Thank you so much for being clueless all these years.” She snarled as she haunted Julia's memories.

“You'll regret everything you've done, Amelia. I'll make you pay…” Julia tightened her teeth as a sense of anger and rage coursed through her veins.

“I'd like to see what you've got for me, Julia,” Amelia smirked.

Just as they were still talking, Liam came onto the scene. From behind, he could see his mother was sad, and how Amelia sneered at her. He didn't like it.

‘Mommy is getting bullied again. Daddy Caspian isn't here, I need to save Mommy myself,’ he said inwardly before nodding briefly.

Without a second thought, he rushed towards Amelia. Before Julia could get a hold of him, he had gotten to Amelia and began to hit her.

“Don't bully my mommy, you evil aunty! Stay away from my mommy!”

Just as he was still fighting with Amelia, kicking and hitting her, Amelia got furious and pushed Liam to the ground. His hand scraped against the hard floor, and a wince left his lips in pain.

“Liam!” Julia exclaimed as she rushed towards him, her breaths coming out in short gasps as she lifted him from the ground, her eyes searching for any sign of injury on his body.

As she tried to scan through, Amelia's voice broke through, “Get your bastard son away from me!” Amelia barked.

At the sound of this, Julia turned back to look at Amelia, her eyes reflecting her inner rage.

“You had no right to push him, Amelia!” Julia stood to her feet, confronting Amelia again.

“And who cares? Come to think of it, don't you think it's time you announce your divorce? They won't stop calling Logan for the bills for this monkey beside you!”

Now Julia could take just anything but definitely not bad words against her son. She had taken enough, and without hesitation, Julia stormed up to Amelia and slapped her hard across the face.

“Don't you dare!”

“Did you just slap me?” Amelia shouted as she cradled her cheek. She was going to retaliate, but seeing Logan walking toward them from behind, she had a sinister idea.

“Ahhh!” Amelia fell to the ground and began to act all pitiful like she was the victim.

“Please, I'm sorry, Julia, I didn't mean to,” she begged as she sat on the floor.

“What are you…” Julia, who was confused, began to ask, but just then, she understood it all.

“Julia, what are you doing?” Logan shouted from behind her as he ran toward Amelia. He helped her to her feet, his eyes glaring at Julia.

She scoffed, her arms folded across her chest. “So this is it? This is what your game was? Pushing yourself to the ground after mocking me and my son?”

“What? I know you are angry Logan loves me more than he did with you, but don't accuse me. You'll end up hurting me, Julia. Please,” Amelia said softly, leaning closer to Logan, who had her in his arms.

Seeing this irritated Julia to the core. She wished to make them both disappear at that moment.

“I know you are pained, Julia, but why take it out on Amelia? She's innocent,” Logan shouted, his words disgusting Julia even more.

“Innocent? You think?” She snorted before rolling her eyes. “Well, I shouldn't be surprised… you are nothing but a weak man, and that's why she can easily deceive you!”

“Watch your tongue, Julia!”

“And what if I don't? You'll punish me? Come on, jerk! I'd like to see you do something! Anything other than fucking my sister!” Julia dared through gritted teeth, exasperating Logan.

“Enough!” He lifted his hand in a fit of rage to hit Julia, who didn't flinch and was ready for his hit, but just then, Dominic stepped in, holding Logan's hand mid-air.

“I wouldn't do that if I were you!” He warned firmly, his grip around Logan's fist tightening before he pushed him away.

Logan, at this point, was shocked and wasn't sure how to react. Seeing that Julia had someone to protect her now, he turned with Amelia, who wasn't satisfied with how it ended, before they left.

Dominic turned to Julia, a smile on his face. “Are you okay?” he asked, checking her body for any bruises.

“Why are you here?” Julia murmured, her thoughts trying to understand it all. Last she checked, they had left the hospital.

“Mr. Caspian saw that you were in danger and asked me to come help you. He was pretty worried in the car about you. He couldn't focus,” Dominic explained, a soft chuckle leaving his lips.

Julia froze at the sound of the name. “Mr. Caspian?” she repeated, just to be sure she wasn't hearing things.

“Yes, he cares more than he lets on,” Dominic added briefly.

“Cares for me? Why would he do that? I barely know him, so why would he want to help me?” Julia needed answers; she needed to understand what was going on.

First, it was him staring at her when he returned and then proposing marriage. Now, this? It was too much for her to handle.

“He cares because I think…” Dominic paused briefly, staring into Julia's eyes as he realized it himself.

“I think for the first time in Mr. Caspian's life, he's falling for a lady and, even more thrilling, a lady with a son…”

In a fit of rage, Amelia didn't hesitate to storm out of the room and head straight for the car parked in the building's parking space.Climbing into it, she could think of only one thing: making Julia regret ever showing up in front of her tonight with that son of hers and, even worse, hiring Michaelson to act like Liam's father.Amelia's fists clenched as she ignored the car's engine and, in no time, zoomed out of the place, heading for the one location her thoughts had told her would be the best place to deal with Julia."I'm definitely sure you won't know what hit you this time, Julia. I'm sure you'll cry and beg this time! I've kept quiet all this while, and you keep seeing me as a fool?" Amelia scoffed, her foot pressing down hard on the pedal, increasing the car's speed."We shall see who the fool turns out to be!"Amelia didn't slow down as she drove. She just wanted to get rid of the thought of Julia humiliating her. After driving for a few minutes with anger bubbling in her

"I am his father!" Caspian's voice broke through the haze and music that had consumed the venue.Julia couldn't believe what had happened. Her eyes bulged in shock as she stared at Caspian, who walked closer to where she stood. With his arm gently curling around Julia's waist, he pulled her closer to himself.Liam, seeing this, giggled. He had never had a daddy before who could stand up for him."Do you have anything to say to me?" Caspian asked with a frown on his face. He wasn't happy seeing how Amelia had acted when he wasn't there.Amelia froze. She was certain now that Caspian was the one who had given the speech and saved Julia at the pawnshop."Now I see why he looked familiar. He's rich? How much did Julia possibly pay him to do this? Or did she sleep with him?" she thought inwardly, her eyes darting from Julia to Caspian."No, Caspian Michaelson isn't like that. But how?" she kept thinking when Logan came into the picture, his eyes glancing around the place before he turned t

Upon returning to the hospital room where Liam was supposed to wait for her, Julia couldn't help but stare at him with a growing sense of fear.It wasn’t that she thought he had done something wrong; she was terrified of losing him. The thought of losing her son to the cold hands of death or to the cruel outside world was unbearable.Sitting beside him, she reached out to gently caress his hair. A warm smile of relief spread across her lips as she gazed into his tender, innocent eyes.“I’m sorry for leaving the room like that, Mommy. Please forgive me,” Liam pleaded in a soft, tender voice.Julia scoffed softly as she embraced him, the two of them sitting together on the bed. She kissed his forehead, not bothering to explain that his apology wasn’t necessary. All she cared about was his safety—she just wanted him by her side, always.“It’s fine, Liam... Mommy isn’t mad that you went out to have fun. I’m just happy you’re still with me. I was getting scared,” she said, watching as he p

Why? He couldn't believe what was happening. He couldn't put the pieces together."What are you doing here, Mr. Caspian?" Julia asked, breaking the awkward silence that had filled the space between them.At this point, Caspian knew that he had to act like everything was fine. He couldn't keep acting like he had suddenly become mute."I came for you," he finally let out, taking a few steps towar
