A sudden knock came at Caspian's door while he stood close to the window of his room, his back turned to the door and his hands folded behind him.

“Who is there?” he asked, and instantly, a voice responded.

“It's Dominic, Mr. Caspian!” Dominic sounded respectful and calm, knowing what he was about to do in Caspian's room.

“Come in,” Caspian commanded as he turned on his heels and walked over to the couch, where he sat and picked up the glass of wine on the table.

The moment Dominic walked into the room, Caspian turned to look at him, his eyes scrutinizing his appearance.

“Get straight to the point of why you are here, Dominic,” Caspian demanded, already having the slightest idea why Dominic was in his room at such an hour.

“Well, if you say so. I'm here to talk about the investors who came last time. I got a message that they'd like to meet with you again and straighten things out,” Dominic explained.

Caspian, Julia, and little Liam were almost ready to leave the grand Michaelson mansion. The next day was Amelia's wedding, Julia’s stepsister, and they needed new clothes for the event.Caspian had decided they would all go to the mall today. It was a special moment for Julia—her life had changed so much.As she stood before the large, ornate mirror in their room, fixing her hair, she felt a familiar presence behind her.Caspian walked up quietly, his tall frame moving gracefully across the room, and without a word, he wrapped his arms around her waist. His strong embrace felt comforting, and she leaned into it without thinking."You look beautiful," Caspian whispered softly into her ear, kissing her cheek gently. His warm breath tickled her skin, sending shivers down her spine.Julia smiled, the happiness of the moment flooding her heart. It was strange sometimes, being loved like this. Caspian always made her feel special, like she was the most important person in the world. But ev

“Well, look who it is. The great Julia Steele—oh, wait, I mean Julia the divorcee,” Amelia sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. She took a step closer, her eyes gleaming with malice.Julia’s jaw tightened, but she said nothing. She wasn’t here to play games. Yet, before she could brush past her stepsister, Amelia leaned in, her lips barely a whisper away from Julia’s ear.“I know you want him,” Amelia’s voice was low and cruel. “I know you want Logan between those slutty thighs of yours, just like you wanted that stranger so badly you had a child outside your marriage.”The words sliced through Julia like a knife. For a split second, the world seemed to tilt on its axis. The air between them grew thick with tension, and the edges of her vision blurred as a red haze settled over her. Then, without thinking, her hand shot up.SLAP.The sound echoed through the hallway, sharp and loud, drawing the attention of the nearby employees.Amelia’s head snapped to the side, her eyes wide in

Julia walked into the office building, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor as she made her way to her desk. It was just another busy day at the company.Papers needed to be filed, calls answered, and meetings attended. She couldn't stop thinking about Caspian and how he bonded so well with Liam, as if he were Liam’s real father.A smile curled across her lips at the thought. However, as soon as she stepped inside, something felt off. Her eyes immediately landed on Sandra, who sat slumped over her desk, looking unusually pale."Sandra?" Julia called out, concern filling her voice as she hurried over to her friend.Sandra barely looked up, her face pale and her hands trembling slightly as she tried to type on her computer."Hey, are you okay?" Julia asked, placing a gentle hand on Sandra's shoulder. Sandra paused, sighing deeply before leaning back in her chair."I don’t know, Julia... I just feel awful. I’ve been feeling like this since this morning, and it’s only gettin

Amelia sat with her arms folded tightly, glaring at Nadia as they shared a tense moment at the café.The air between them crackled with tension. Amelia had just finished her harsh words about Julia, and the frustration she carried was weighing on her."I didn’t take anyone’s husband, Nadia," Amelia scoffed, her voice dripping with disgust. "I mean, he clearly got disgusted by her and wanted me. It isn’t my fault I’m this beautiful.”Nadia looked at Amelia, her friend for years, and felt a strange discomfort creeping into her chest. Her mind flashed back to a conversation they had once had when they were outside the city a few years ago.Amelia had gone on and on about a man she loved, but at the time, she had been so vague about the details that Nadia never thought much of it.Amelia had simply said the man was married, and Nadia had, without much thought, given her advice: just have fun and move on.Back then, Nadia didn’t know the man’s name or the situation. But now it all made sen

Amelia hurriedly threw on her favourite dress, a deep emerald green that hugged her curves in just the right way. It was one of Logan's favourites. She smiled bitterly at the thought as she slipped on her shoes and grabbed her handbag, heading out of the mansion. Her head was a jumbled mess of thoughts, all circling back to what had happened that morning.Logan’s cold rejection. The way he had pushed away the plate of fruit she’d so carefully prepared for him, comparing her to Julia, as if she could ever be like her.As Amelia walked down the bustling city street, the memories from earlier that morning replayed in her mind like a broken record.Logan had barely looked at her as he sat down at the breakfast table, frowning at what was before him and ignoring the world around him for a second—including her.She had placed the plate on the dining table with a smile, but he didn't appreciate it for a single second."What's the meaning of this, Amelia… fruits? You know what? I’m not hungry

Amelia woke up before the sun had even risen, the early light creeping through the curtains of the bedroom. She rubbed her eyes, feeling the weight of sleep pulling her back under, but she couldn’t stop the thoughts that flooded her mind, reeling like an endless loop. The first image that hit her was from the day before, at the dress shop. She had been standing in front of Logan Steele, draped in white, admiring how perfectly the wedding gown fit her.She was supposed to feel happy, but all she could think about was the empty spot next to her. Logan had walked out, leaving her alone, as if their wedding meant nothing to him. As if all her efforts were about to go down the drain. He’s still thinking about her, Amelia thought bitterly. It’s always Julia. The thought made her stomach twist with anger. He refused to let go, and she could see it in his eyes. It’s because of Julia that Logan treats me this way, she convinced herself, pushing away any thoughts that suggested otherwise. With
