Ryan sat at the edge of his small twin-sized bed, he had removed most of his bandage and was now getting better, he didn’t need to limp when he walked around or felt any pain when he leaned down, he had his phone in his hand as he thought about she wasn’t answering his texts, knowing his sister very well she usually replied very fast, well since she wasn’t returning his text he decided to try another option, his thumb hovering over the call button on his phone. The screen glowed faintly in the morning light sneaking through the window blinds. “Raina – Big Sis” blinked up at him from his contact list. He’d called twice already that morning, both times going straight to voicemail.

He tried a third time.

Ring.

Ring.

Voicemail.

He let out a frustrated sigh, tossing the phone gently onto his pillow. “Where the hell are you?” he muttered. His gut twisted with a strange mix of worry and irritation. It wasn’t like Raina to go silent this long. She always returned his calls, even if it was jus

Kai bent down to pick up the scattered dresses that littered the floor. One by one, he folded them and stuffed them into the laundry bag. Some were inside-out, some still had the faint scent of Jamie’s perfume, and a few were stained with spilled wine from last night. He didn’t bother checking for what was salvageable—he just wanted the mess gone. After he dropped the bag by the door, he turned to the bedside table and picked up the disposable cups and empty wine bottles. He wondered, not for the first time, why he was the one doing all this. He wasn’t the maid. He wasn’t the personal assistant. He was Kai—smart, capable, ambitious—but here he was, playing housekeeper while the woman who claimed to love him snored away without a care.He let out a frustrated sigh just as Jamie began to stir. She rolled over lazily, her eyes fluttering open as sunlight spilled through the curtains. Her hair was a mess, her eyeliner smudged from the night before. “Good morning,” she murmured, her voice

There she was.Raina.But not the Raina who usually filled the house with complaints, sarcasm, or witty comebacks. Not the Raina who rolled her eyes at him or called him names. This Raina looked like she had stepped straight out of a dream—or a red carpet fantasy. The deep red dress clung to her body in all the right places, molded to her like a second skin, flowing just enough at the base to add grace to every step. The fabric shimmered under the soft glow of the chandelier above the staircase, and her hair, parted to the side in effortless waves, framed her glowing skin. No excessive makeup, no overdone jewelry. Just raw, unfiltered elegance.Aaron froze. For a split second, he forgot about the event they were attending. Forgot about the rare auction item. Forgot about his annoying brother and the competition ahead. In that moment, all he could do was stare at the woman descending the stairs. His fianceOr, at least, the woman the world believed was his fiance. His gaze was so fixed

Raina gently placed the glass cup down on the kitchen counter, the soft clink echoing slightly in the quiet room. It had been over twenty minutes since she had left the bedroom, and she figured that was more than enough time for Aaron to shower, get dressed, and possibly cool off after his usual morning mood. She wasn’t exactly in a hurry to return to the room—especially not after he’d splashed water on her like some sort of military wake-up call.Still, she knew she had to face him eventually. Aaron had already made it clear that he wasn’t going to wait for her, so she might as well start getting ready for the day. With a sigh, she pushed away from the counter. It was just an auction event anyway—probably another overly formal gathering filled with people trying to outbid each other for things they didn’t really need. She hoped it would go by quickly. The sooner it ended, the sooner she could go home, crawl into bed, and try to forget about everything that was clouding her mind.As s

Aaron stepped out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, steam trailing behind him like a cloud. Droplets of water still on to his bod. He ran a hand through his damp hair as he looked around the room.Raina was gone.“So she left,” he muttered under his breath, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.He hadn’t expected her to stay anyway—not after how she stormed off the bed after he splashed her with water. She probably didn’t want to risk seeing him half-naked again, not after the tension and awkwardness they’d already endured. Maybe it was for the best.He dried off quickly and made his way to the other side of the room, where his massive, luxurious walk-in closet stood like a fashion vault. As he flicked on the lights, the space came to life—soft yellow lightingd rows upon rows of high-end suits, neatly displayed and rotating slowly on an automatic. A rainbow of finely tailored fabric circled before him—each one custom-made, each one never worn.He s

Aaron’s eyes snapped open sharply, his brows furrowed in irritation. At first, he thought the constant tugging on the duvet was part of a dream—but no, it wasn’t. The movements were real and persistent. Raina was at it again, pulling the blanket to her side like it was a competition she needed to win in her sleep. The once neatly laid bed now looked like a battlefield. He groaned softly, shifting slightly to glance at the clock on the nightstand. 7:00 a.m.“Perfect,” he muttered to himself with a tired sigh. His gaze moved toward the other side of the bed where Raina lay, curled up like a cat, completely unaware of the chaos she was causing. She shifted again, turning over and flinging her leg across his. The pillow barrier they had carefully placed between them last night was long gone—obliterated during her restless sleep. Somehow, she had managed to conquer most of the bed, leaving him clinging to the edge like a castaway on a raft. This was the first time they had ever spent the e
