Chapter 06

"JD! IS JD HERE already!? That kid!"

When a lady suddenly appeared at the top of the staircase, our heads snapped at her direction. Her brows were in one line, eyes turning red with anger, and her nose were flaring. The steps of the stairs looked like they would give out because of how hard she was stomping while walking down.

But despite her King-Kong-like rage, I couldn't help but admire how she still looked beautiful even if she was angry. She's wearing an eyeglasses with thin, gold frames and it fit perfectly on her pointed nose' bridge.

A mocking gasp escaped Silvester's lips. "Oh! He's so dead!” he whispered at Pablo who was beside him. He even covered his mouth to stifle his laugh.

Pablo slowly nodded in agreement. "The dragon's mad now. Good luck to our dear friend, he won't be forgotten." He jokingly closed his eyes and faked a sad face while he placed his palm on his chest.

And, then, they both laughed at their own jokes. Seriously? Their friend's in trouble and they had the nerve to mock him? Oh, well, birds with the same feather flocks together, they say.

The lady's bloodshot eyes darted at JD, and she stormed towards our direction. Out of instinct, I quickly took a step back when she got near us. My jaw dropped when she smacked JD's head, and everyone else in the room had the same reaction as me.

"Ow!" JD grimaced and he quickly massaged his head to ease the pain. "What was that for, Manager Anne!"

The lady—who they called Manager Anne—put her hands on her waist. And with that pose, I knew JD would recieve a earful of scolding from her. "Seriously? Kissing someone in public and then announcing that you have a girlfriend?! Really, JD!? You're giving me another headache! You could've gone to a motel or something instead of smooching someone's lips in public! Oh my god!"

I blinked and my mouth gaped open at what she said. M-Motel? I'm too young to go to a motel and do those things!

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, okay!" JD cried and shielded his head when Manager Anne was about to smack his head again. "I swear, it won't happen again, Manager Anne. I promise you that."

She heaved out a harsh sigh, and tightly closed her eyes. She massaged her temples. “I told you to always be careful when you're in public! You're celebrities, for Pete's sake! Every little thing you do is broadcasted anywhere, and it spreads fast!" She groaned.

"Miss Anne, Miss Anne!" Silvester excitedly raised his hand, like a nursery student who wanted to answer, and then he stood up.

"What?!” Manager Anne snapped her head at him.

"The girlfriend is here!" he answered in a sing-sang voice before pointing at me.

A gasp escaped my lips and my heart started to run laps. When her eyes turned to me, my body froze and I felt like I could faint right at that moment!

Damn you, Silvester!

She stared at me intently, and I became conscious with how I looked at that moment. She wasn't saying anything, but the way she looked at me speaks so much about what she was thinking about me. "JD, come with me upstairs. Let's have a talk."

She turned her heels and climbed up the stairs, and we just stared at her back. JD sighed in defeat. He gave me one last glance, before he followed Manager Anne upstairs.

When the two disappeared and the living room fell silent, I quickly turned around and faced Silvester to give him a good pinch on his arm.

"Ouch!" He grimaced and quickly held the part of his arm where I pinched.

"Damn you!” I shot a glare at him. "Why did you tell her I'm JD's girlfriend!?"

He was still grimace, but he gave me the "duh?" look. “Because you are? What do you want me to say? Tell her you're his mom or something?”

I just rolled my eyeballs at him. Unbelievable!

"Geez, woman," he whispered. "Every girls dream about touching me and being with me, and this is how you treat me? You witch."

I scoffed. "Jillian. Call me Jillian."

He rolled his eyeballs at him. “Whatever. I didn't ask.” He was still massaging his arm, and he's still mad at me. Well, the feelings mutual! I was also mad.

There's no point in talking to him, he has the same attitude as JD. I decided to leave him there, and just faced Josiah, who has been silent since earlier and was just cutely sitting at the couch. "Uhm... Josiah?"

He looked my way. "Hmm?"

"Can I go to the kitchen? I'm thirsty."

He nodded and smiled. "Sure."

I smiled back. I was really thirsty, so I quickly walked to the kitchen and opened their fridge. The cold water inside the pitcher was calling me, and I instantly grabbed it and poured a glass and drank it in three gulps. The cold sensation of the water travelling from my tongue down to my throat was giving me a sense of relief.

"Jillian?"

I jolted and I almost blew out the water that was inside my mouth, thankfully I was quick to close my mouth, but some water escaped and streamed down my chin and neck and to my dress. I quickly turned around to see Josiah

"S-Sorry!" I apologized and quickly wiped the water on my skin with the back of my hand.

He chuckled. "I should be the one apologizing. I didn't mean to surprise you." He took a step closer to me. "You should change. Your dress is wet now. Your... uh... is peeping."

When he pointed at my chest, blood rose to my face and my cheeks heated up. I immediately crossed my arms over my chest to cover them. “Oh! Um, sorry!”

"Don't worry, we have spare clothes here. Pablo's sister would often visit here, so she left some clothes."

"Really? Is it fine if I use her clothes?"

He chuckled. "It's fine. Don't worry. Come with me, we'll change your clothes. You might catch a cold if you were your wet clothes longer."

When he turned around and started walking, I quickly followed him like a pet dog. He's really nice, I might have a crush on him already!
