Chapter Ninety-Six

"I think I might be pregnant," I blurted out and instantly wished I could retrieve my statement. I didn't know what drove me to tell him that, perhaps it was the hope I had.

Momentarily, Raj didn't speak. He just kept on gazing at me. "You're pregnant?" He asked, slowly, like he was doubting me or something.

"I think so," I replied, looking everywhere but his face.

"When... I mean what drove you to this conclusion?" He asked.

"I just -"

"Wait here, I will go get some pregnancy test and be right back," Raj said. Despite how unsure he seemed, I caught a glint of hope and happiness in his eyes.

"But Raj -" I attempted to stop him for I was scared of what the result might turn out to be. I was scared of seeing disappointment on Raj's face. I just hoped and prayed it was indeed true.

"No excuses, I will be right back," he said and scampered out.

What have I done! What if the test results come out negative? I shouldn't have blurted that out. I made a huge mistake.
