Chapter 4: Chapter Four: Su Ran Intentionally Provokes

Rebecca Augustine gritted her teeth, loosening her clenched fist, and her expression changed as quickly as flipping a page. She flashed a big smile at Leonard Babbitt, "Of course I can't repay it. Thank you, hubby, for taking care of my father."

"No need to thank me," Leonard Babbitt replied with an ambiguous smile.

Rebecca Augustine had not only failed to get a divorce but also ended up becoming a nanny for Leonard Babbitt and Stacey Grantham. Her heart was filled with frustration, and she drowned her sorrows in alcohol that night.

The next morning, Rebecca Augustine woke up with a heavy head. She had drunk some wine the previous night and forgotten to close the window, resulting in a poor night's sleep and a cold, accompanied by a headache. After washing up, she went downstairs and saw Stacey Grantham directing the maids to change the living room furniture and curtains.

Seeing Rebecca Augustine, Stacey Grantham put on an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, Miss Han..."

"I don't really like the furniture and curtains you chose. Can we change them to blue, which I prefer?" she asked in a soft, delicate voice.

Rebecca Augustine smiled indifferently, "Miss Su is too kind, but this furniture and these curtains were personally selected by my husband. I didn't have a say in it. If Miss Su doesn't like them, feel free to change them to any color you want."

Stacey Grantham was left speechless, biting her lip. Seeing the maid bringing out breakfast from the kitchen, she found an excuse.

"Miss Han, Brother Yecheng works very hard every day. I cooked soup for him this morning," Stacey Grantham said, lowering her head shyly, "Maybe I overstepped, but I hope you won't be uncomfortable about it?"

Yawning, Rebecca Augustine responded calmly, "I'm glad someone is taking care of my husband's health. Why would I be uncomfortable?"

She walked down the stairs, sat at the dining table, and started eating. After tasting the soup, she looked up at Stacey Grantham and said, "Miss Su, you are quite skillful. The soup is delicious. Would you mind making a portion for me every morning as well?"

Stacey Grantham subconsciously tightened her grip, surprised by how resilient this woman was. Even now, she remained so composed.

At this moment, Leonard Babbitt came down from his study on the second floor, dressed in a neat suit, looking every bit the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Stacey Grantham immediately greeted him, acting like a servant in a Japanese restaurant.

"Brother Yecheng, I've prepared breakfast. You must finish it before going to work."

In front of Rebecca Augustine, Stacey Grantham reached out to straighten Leonard Babbitt's suit and tie, looking like a newlywed couple.

Leonard Babbitt paused, glancing at Rebecca Augustine and coughing lightly, "Let's eat first."

Rebecca Augustine acted as if they didn't exist, continuing to enjoy her breakfast, seemingly oblivious to the scene.

Halfway through her meal, she suddenly felt unwell, sneezed, and rubbed her nose, her eyes and cheeks turning red.

Leonard Babbitt glanced at her, frowning, "Caught a cold?"

Rebecca Augustine looked up and smiled, "I forgot to close the window last night and caught a chill."

Stacey Grantham, testing the waters, glanced at Leonard Babbitt and began to speak in a sly tone, "Miss Han, you should be more careful."

Her voice was sweet and soft, the kind that could make any man weak in the knees, "Before I went abroad, I always needed Brother Yecheng to stay with me to fall asleep. He was very attentive, always checking the windows and doors before leaving. Miss Han, you should take better care of yourself."

This woman... was deliberately provoking her?

Rebecca Augustine rolled her eyes inwardly but, in front of Leonard Babbitt, could only respond with a smile, "Thank you for your reminder, Miss Su."

Stacey Grantham, frustrated by her attempts, tried again, "But even if I get sick, it's no problem. Brother Yecheng is very good at taking care of sick people. Once, when I had a fever, he stayed up all night watching over me without sleeping."
