Chapter 8

ASHER’S POV

Warlock still pierces his eyes on me. His gaze is heavy and I know he is Not here for peace. His round big eyes shows disgust. He clips his lips together and muscles his cheeks.

He takes a more bolder step towards me, facing me directly in the face. I remain static and we both gawk at each other. There is a dead silence in the whole room. The only thing I hear I s heartbeats.

“Congratulations, Brother” he smiles and offers a hand shake. My eyes quirks for a second. The murmuring erupts back again. “I know we haven’t been best of brothers, but I’m sorry for wanting to take what is yours, brother” he adds.

I look at his hand with my eyes a little tightened. I look back at him and again down to his hand. “ what do you think you are doing, Son?” Luna Matilda’s voice pricks.

Warlock and I turn at the same time at her. Her face is scowled and contorted. “Mom, it’s all over. We are the ones at the wrong.” He folds his hands facing her. “Please just allow me make things right this time around.” His eyes becomes teary. I’m lost. Warlock apologizing to me? I sure have missed the puzzle.

“So please Asher, I know mom and I have been a thorn in your flesh and have always opposed you. I know I have been a fucking arsehole but then I’m really sorry. All I wish is to make things better and keep our family legacy” he adds. I sternly look at him trying to access him. His heartbeat is normal to my hearing. Becoming an alpha has increased my extraordinary hearing ability . He seems calm to me. I guess maybe he has had a change of heart.

“Brother!” I clasp my hand with his hanging open hand. We join hands together firmly and drag ourselves for a hug. I tap him at the back and so he does as well. The pack cheers.

“Brother!“ he also says after we break from the hug. He smirks at me and I reciprocate the gesture. “I’m gonna be right by your side whenever you need me.” He shakes my hand and nods his head as well.

“You are just being stupid, warlock” Luna Matilda cusses and strides out of the ceremony. “Mom..!” Warlock calls but she ignores him amd dashes away in rage.

“Please go ahead with your crowning, Brother!“ he walks behind me. My eyes clicks with Taika. She smiles at me and I do same even though the energy isn’t strong. I sip the silver blood.

I feel this surge of power in me. There is a flush all over my body. It’s more like there is a movement in all my vein. I’m hot and my hand shakes. I shut my eyes as I allow the process. I have read it in the family book. Though it is prohibited that I read it, but I did by the way. I needed to know more so Warlock and his mother wouldn’t use anything against me.

“Alpha Asher!!” The pack starts cheering as I stand stable. Alas,it’s done.

“Voila!!!” I cheer and raise my hand.

“Alpha Asher!” I growl in a husky tone. I Morph partially to my wolf form and growl, push my neck backwards and facing the roof. The pack members do same. “Voila!!”

The ceremony is over, it’s now time for my union with Taika to be cemented. It’s time for me to marry her.

“Its time” Elder Nathan smiles. The grey hair around his aging chin broadens. I turn to Taika and she looks so beautiful as like a queen. Actually, she is my queen I guess. Endowed with jewels, and a nice apparel, she rocks. I get lost in her beauty as I gloat at her.

“I, Asher Feathers, the fifth Alpha and protector of the Silver moon pack, choose you this day, my Luna, to be my bride and also assist me as my Luna and heart of the pack. Please be mine”. I say and hold her hand and Warlock taps me on the back twice tenderly.

“Luna, you go now” Elder Nathan says, with a jounce. She looks at him and back at me, Her teeth unclosed.

“Asher Feathers, my mate, I this day, accept to be your bride and you my husband. I also accept the responsibility of helping you govern the affairs of the pack. I also accept to be a part of the silver moon pack this day.” She says and places her hand on mine. Our eyes flicker at the same time.

“Long live Alpha Asher and Luna Taika” the pack members Cheer, jamming their cups together. I pull her to myself and we both hug. As I pull away from the hug, she sets her lips for a kiss but I quickly turn aside. I don’t know why, but I feel uneasy. On turning, my eyes fall on the masked girl. She is standing at the extreme end of the room. She looks odd but I am drawn to her.

“Asher” Taika calls and yanks my hand. I stagger slightly and turn my sight to her. “Hey” i shrug. “ Are you fine?” She presses.

“Yes, I am” I say and smile. She continues looking at me weirdly and then she looks at where I was staring. I turn to look at the weird masked girl. she’s gone. My eyes broaden in surprise. I scan around but I still can’t find her. There’s something about her, and I’d love to talk to her and ask her why she’s always in the shadows.

“I’ll be right back” I say to Taika and immediately flee from her. There is music and the pack is having a fun time. I rush down and head towards the spot she was standing. I reach and can’t find her. I look around frantically but still there is no trace of her.

“Where is the masked girl that was standing here” i ask one of the omega. “She just left now” he says, pointing towards the door.

I quickly walk out, following the main door which she left through. I reach outside, but there is no one. I faff around but I can’t find her. “ who are you?”I breeze under my breath and stare at the obscure nature.

The whole party is done and everyone has left. I’m so tired right now. All I want is rest my head. I think I am going to tell Kyle to look for the masked girl for me. I just feel the urge to have a conversation with her. I feel there is more to her than being in the shadows.

I tread the stairs and I’m now in front of my room. I push the brown door open after I crack my knuckles. I enter and the room is dark and obscure. I sense something.

My sense spark and my eyes flicker to red. I survey the room and tread gently. “I’m all yours” then follows the turn back on of the lights.

My eyes fall on Taika. She is dressed in a red lingerie. Her boobs pushing out of the transparent bra. She’s lying on the bed and waiting for me to eat her. I immediately feel a bulge around my thighs. She bites her lower lip’s romantically,giving me a seductive look.

“I’m not in the mood” I say…
