Isis picked at the flowers in the garden, as embarrassment wouldn’t let her face her friend. She was now wearing a crop top, and no longer the bra she had on earlier. It had taken a year's worth of her patience and self-control before she could allow Sam to hold her like that.

After she’d changed into the crop top earlier, Samuel was the one who had pulled it off her. He told her he wanted the fastest way to get results, which was to act like they were sleeping together. Now that it had gone wrong, she didn’t know what to tell Alice anymore.

After sighing for what seemed like ages, Alice stamped her feet on the ground with anger. “How can you keep this from me too? Did you think I would betray you like Fatima did?”

Isis looked at her friend. “I didn't have the intention of telling anyone that my mum is married to Samuel's dad. We both devised that plan to make them get divorced soon. You’re very busy with college and life... that’s why I didn't bother to tell you anything ‘bout me.”
