CHAPTER 52

My stomach growled in hunger around ten o'clock in the evening. I should have brought something to eat, but I couldn't think straight after the arguments I had with Stefan earlier. I opened the door slowly so as not to startle anyone, especially Stefan.

“Holy shit!” I cursed at the man standing outside the door, and when I came out, he just grinned. “Are you insane? What do you think you are doing outside my room?”

Without warning, Stefan closed the gap between us and embraced me tightly. “Bethany,” he said quietly, his voice low and unsure. “I can't do it anymore,” he admitted.

“What exactly are you saying?” I was perplexed by the solemnity in his voice.

“You can call me a loser, but I'm gradually falling in love with you,” he declared.

Despite his warm embrace, I stood frozen when he declared his love for me. To be honest, I was taken aback by his actions and wanted to smack him across the chest, but I couldn't. Being so close to him gave me a sense of inner peace and fulfilment, b
