As I was walking home from Kael's house, I couldn't stop thinking about what Rebecca said. Kael's aunt. Her words kept playing in my head like a broken record.

She knew about the curse. My family's curse. The one that has been killing women in my bloodline for generations. How did she know? Who told her? And what else knows?

But the last words she said were the ones that cut deepest. "The Thorne family will not watch Kael fall because of your family's curse."
