Chapter 8

Anna's POV.

“It's been four hours and she still hasn't woken up. I'm losing my patient,”

Their voices were faint but I could hear their impatience echoing louder than their words. I opened my eyes to a blurry vision of six men standing, their backs against me. I tried to move my hands but my wrists were tied against my back.

I grunted as the pains around my wrist began to burn like I was strapped to a silver handcuff, emitting red hot coals.

“Where am I?” My frail voice failed to leave my circle. It sounded so tiny that I was unable to hear it echo in the air.

I stretched my legs, hearing a little crackle as I propped my elbows and sat up. One of the men turned in my direction, flashed his eyes and whispered to the others.

“She's awake boss,”

Immediately, they glanced at me with a cautious look and turned back to communicate again, their voices thinner than a whisper.

I tried to remember how I got here, how I got my hands tied up and tossed to the ground.
