Adolph was full of rage as he read the note, he had the same look Jason had just a while ago. He passed the note to mama Helen to take a look and somehow she still managed to show no emotion.

Jason knew she was worried, he could tell by the subtle movements she made, but she wasn't making it obvious. He wondered how she was able to remain calm in situations like this. He wished he could possess such equanimity, especially now as he stood beside his mate.

Jasmine used the opportunity to observe his home, it was obvious that his "family" had decided to ignore her since he gave them the envelope, at least it was better than the outright look of disapproval they shot her way before.
