ADRIAN’S POV

“Celestial!” I uttered, my voice low yet serious on the scene before me,

I froze, scanning the whole corner of our room, her blue eyeballs glowing like a moon but changing to black all of a sudden; my wolf felt it.

Her mind was far gone, gone from Silvercrest, gone from this world. At first I’d thought she was missing her twin sister, Elara, but after observing for months now, it’s beginning to make a lot of sense to me.

“Adrian, are you here?” She quickly adjusted herself from the marbled tiled floor she sat on. “When did you come back from the elders meeting?” she asked, like she cared about anything other than herself.

“Not quite long,” I responded and continued, “but why are you in such a position?”

“What do you mean?” I know she wouldn’t want to accept I caught her this time.

“Don’t give me that silly excuse of doing yoga this time.”  I hit the nail on the head. She calmed, walked a bit from her present spot, and took her silver armlet from the table.

“Why are you trying to ignore me?”

“Leave me alone!!!” She growled, her eyes blazing in anger. I don’t understand that kind of energy from a member of our pack. It’s as if seeing a goddess herself; the only difference was the blackish flame coming from her body.

“I poured my body and soul into our relationship, all just for you,” she spoke sternly, “And you dare order me like your child. I’m not Elara.”

“But Celestial…” She charged right at me, like she’s ready to take me on.

“Celestial what!” She exchanged her anger only; she wasn’t taking any words from it. She’s becoming so much deeper in dark power.

History has it that the two twins, Celestial and Elara, were born with great power in them, power bestowed to them by the moon goddess. The one with the wolf is Celestial; now I think she possesses both the wolf and this strange energy.

“It’s consuming you, Celestial.” I argued,

“I’ll master every bit of it and become more powerful than both of them.” She declared,

“Who?” I quickly asked.

“the moon goddess and Elara”.

“The power you have is meant to protect and not to harm anyone.” I thought I could talk her out of her insanity. HELL NO. She’s not taking my advice, not submitting to helping people; Celestial wants to rule.

“What has gotten your attention all of a sudden?” I questioned,

Then there was silence; she stepped away, slowly reached for a portrait of her and her sister hanging on the wall, gently removed it, and gave it to me, her finger pointing to Elara’s forehead.

”You miss her? “Yes, I do too.” She got mad again; my words increased the tension in the room. The breeze could not contain the heated arguments that followed.

“I know you still love her; you love Elara.” She dropped the rock into the sea. “You chose me because of my wolf, and she’s wolfless; you wished for her.”

“It’s not what you think, Celestial.” At that moment I couldn’t save myself; she had made up her mind.

“Anyways, since you still love her, she’s alive.” She said,

“What are you saying? Elara is dead for real.” I dropped my jacket on the bed.

“And not only that, she’s with the Alpha of the Shadowfang pack.” She continues, “Alpha Darius, my dear father, received a message from Shadowfang for a physical meeting.”

“What’s that got to do with your sister?” my curiosity heightened,

“Alpha Kael of Shadowfang wants to bring her back to this palace tomorrow.”

Elara is coming back to Silvercrest!

If her absence is causing her to be unrest, then what would her presence cause? She’s going to change a lot of things.  If I’m giving one more chance, I’ll apologise to her; my guilty heart longs for that day.

*******

“You are welcome to Silver Crest, Alpha Kael.”  Alpha Darius exchanges greetings with Alpha Kael and his Omega, Marcus, known to be together as always.

Alpha Kael in a brown coat made of animal skin, probably a bear, and Marcus in his safety protective attire with a royal seal on his chest.

I began to scan everywhere for Elara; Celestial had said he’d bring her along, but she’s not among all these people present. All I can see are his Omega and 5 Beta warriors.

On the spot I had only one concern at the meeting: ELARA. My heart kept on pumping faster than usual. Is it possible she’s in the car they brought? Or is she coming with another convoy? One thing is common: Celestial can't seem to lie to me. If she did, then Alpha Kael would not be here today.

“It’s a great pleasure to have you,” Alpha Darius,

“The pleasure is mine,” Alpha Kael responded nicely.

He calmly sat down in front of our Alpha, while I sat at the other side of the table.

“This is Omega Adrian.” Alpha Darius introduced,

“I’m glad to see you in person.” I said, “I was told you are here to discuss an important issue about one of our pack members; where is she?” My patience worn out, I ignored the strange gaze from my Alpha.

“Yes, Alpha Kael, where is Elara herself?”

“I’m so excited to see how both of you acknowledged her as yours, but why send her to her own death?”

I rest my back on the chair. He’s right; we sent her to death. We never cared about her; none of us do, not me, not her twin sister, not her father.

“I love both my daughters dearly, and I’ll never do what you accused, so I’ll ask again: where is she?” Alpha Darius isn’t taking his words lightly.

“Elara will only come here if you assure to take her back and relinquish her.”

My eyes widened, my face glued with excitement. I’ll finally have the opportunity to apologise, and maybe, just maybe, she can forgive my mistake, and I’ll mark her as my mate.

“NEVER!!!” My mind jolted back to reality by Alpha Darius’s declaration.

“Please, let’s be calm here.” I try to persuade him.

“If she’s not here with you, then she should remain with you as her new family.” He sounded harsh and angry, “she’s a criminal and a rogue, Goodbye.”

Alpha Darius stood in anger and left without saying anything else. Sometimes I feel his hurt; sometimes it looks like he hated her and loved Celestial.

I exchanged a handshake with Alpha Kael and was about to exit the hall when his omega approached him.

“MY ALPHA, ELARA IS IN DANGER!”

What! Elara is nearby and in danger?

ALPHA KAEL’S POV“Alpha Kael!!!”My heart jumped at Marcus’s unexpected entry into the throne room, his aura high as always, the same as when he’s on a mission. “Alpha, the rogues are at it again; they attacked,” Marcus angrily said. His eyes expressing rage from within, I didn’t let that obstruct what I’m about to do before he walked in. Whilst he was waiting for my response, I opened the secret letter brought in last night. It reads, “ALPHA KAEL, WE HEREBY DECLARE MOONCREST TAKEN BY US.”As short as that was, there was no additional sentence saying the sender or their location, but it says it all. Yes, all the necessary hurtful messages were passed across in a sentence. Their domination must've spilled much blood.“My instinct is telling me this letter is from the rogues.” I gave the letter to him. He carefully held on to it like an egg. “This is definitely from them, Alpha Kael,” he growled, crushing his fist together.“Relax, Marcus; we can’t be thinking like them; they are crim

Elara's POV "I think I'm in the wrong place," I mused thoughtfully to myself as I gazed at the long dining table, filled with different kinds of foods and drinks, the ones I've seen and the ones I have not, precisely their native delicacies."Cheers to our victory," Alpha Kael rose to a toast, and they all joined him with their glasses raised. "Cheers!!!" They said simultaneously, and their glasses clinked together. I sat silently, observing everyone from my position at the table; my worried gaze alone says it all. The whole scenario is strange, and I'm the odd one."What are they celebrating?" My mind began to play tricks on me, leaving me vulnerable amongst them."Let the food go round, Cara; let the new bird feast from our hands for the first time." Alpha Kael signaled to his maid. She didn't hesitate; she moved the silver tray around, placing the plate gently in front of each person."Did they win a war, or is it their tradition to celebrate someone that almost died?" The rogue

Kael povI smelled the blood before I saw her.Fresh. Mixed with wolf scent and fear and something else I couldn’t identify.“There,” Marcus pointed to a figure collapsed just inside our border. “It is female. Badly injured.”We approached cautiously. Rogues were always dangerous …especially wounded. But when we got closer, I froze. She was tiny. Silver-white hair matted with blood and dirt. Skin pale as death. Her clothes were torn and soaked red. Bite marks covered her arms and legs…defensive wounds. She’d been running.“Dead?” one of my warriors asked.I knelt beside her and checked her pulse. “Alive. Barely.”“Who is she?”That was the question, wasn’t it? Her scent was strange…familiar somehow but I couldn’t place it. Pack-raised, definitely. High-born from the quality of her remaining clothes. But running alone? Wounded like this?“Should we finish her?” my warrior asked. “Rogue on our territory…”“No.” The word came out harder than I intended. “Bring her to the pack house.”“A
