LOGINYEAR 2018
Katleya quietly studied under a mahogany tree in the garden of Montenegro University. It was her favorite spot because it was one of the most beautiful places on campus. The garden was adorned with various colorful flowers: roses of every shade, daisies that swayed in unison whenever the wind blew, and sunflowers lining the garden like a vibrant wall. It was a breathtaking sight to behold.
She carefully reviewed every detail of the topic for their class later that day. However, her concentration broke when Red, one of the sons of the university owner, arrived. She offered him a wide smile, but he didn’t acknowledge her.
Redrigo McArthur X. Montenegro, or simply Red, was a reserved young man. Despite his aloofness, his striking good looks had the power to steal the hearts of women with just a glance—and Katleya was no exception. She had liked him for a long time, but he showed no interest in her, even though she was one of the most beautiful students in their university. She had grown accustomed to it. Red had conditioned her to accept that she held no significance in his eyes.
Red sat on a bench directly across from Katleya. Her attention drifted away from her book, now fully focused on him as he quietly read. She couldn’t help but smile, her curiosity piqued when she noticed the book he was reading—a dictionary.
Her smile vanished, and she quickly looked down when Red glanced her way, feeling a sudden wave of embarrassment.
“Psst. Fix how you’re sitting. I can see your shorts,” Red said in a gentlemanly tone.
Katleya immediately adjusted her posture. “Sorry.”
“You should be thankful I’m not like other guys. You’re pretty. Be more careful next time,” Red said. He stood to leave even though he had just arrived, seemingly uncomfortable in her presence.
As he turned, his dictionary fell to the ground. Katleya’s eyes widened in shock as she covered her mouth. She couldn’t believe what she saw. Inside the dictionary was a white book that looked very familiar—a published erotic novel by TitaAmor07, part of the Big Bird Series.
Red quickly picked up the book, his face flushing with embarrassment. Katleya couldn’t suppress her laughter at his reaction.
“Psst! Don’t judge me. And don’t tell anyone about this, okay?” Red said, clearly flustered.
Katleya didn’t know how to respond. She had initially thought he was studying words, but she was wrong. He was reading an erotic novel.
Red moved closer to her. “Psst! Enough. You’re making me embarrassed. I’m just curious about it, okay? It’s popular, so I bought it. But I didn’t know it had so many bed scenes. If I had known, I wouldn’t have bought it.”
“You don’t need to explain. It’s normal,” Katleya said, still chuckling.
“No, it’s not. But since I’ve already started it, I might as well finish it,” Red said, clearly lying. The truth was, it was one of his favorite books. Beyond its genre, it offered lessons on the strength of friendship.
“What book in the series are you on?” Katleya asked.
“Six. Miguel Montevista,” Red replied, his voice tinged with embarrassment.
Katleya laughed again. “You’re just finishing it, huh?”
“Are you judging me?” Red asked, pouting slightly.
“Promise, I’m not.”
“Then why are you laughing like that?”
“Because you’re in denial.”
Red wiped his sweaty face with his hand. “I’ll go ahead.”
He was about to leave but turned to look at Katleya again, clearly uneasy. “Psst. Don’t spread this, okay? Promise, I only read that kind of stuff, but I’m still a virgin. I’m not like my twin, Blue. You know him, right? Because of his video scandal?”
“Okay. Promise,” Katleya replied with a smile.
“Thank you. Bye.”
As Red walked away, Katleya found herself jumping in place, overcome with giddiness. It was the first time the man she liked had acknowledged her. She pinched her cheeks to ensure she wasn’t dreaming and screamed in delight when she felt the pain.
“Yes! I’m fated with Redrigo McArthur X. Montenegro!” she shouted.
“Amen,” came a man’s voice.
“God? Is that you?” Katleya asked, looking around.
“Yes. I am God. God of org*sm. Roar,” said the man, still hidden from Katleya’s view.
“Hey! Who are you? Pervert!” Katleya shouted.
A man suddenly jumped down from a tree and landed in front of her.
“Wah! I surprised you, didn’t I?” he said.
“What the heck! You scared me,” Katleya complained, clutching her chest.
“With my good looks? You’re scared? My twin and I have the same face. He’s just the nice one, and I’m, you know, good in bed. Ah. Ah. Ah!” Blue, Red’s twin, proudly declared.
Pierce Blue X. Montenegro was famously known at the university. With his handsome face and his family’s reputation, he was a well-known figure. Unlike his twin, he had a mole by his left eye and a cruder way of speaking. While Red was serious, Blue was playful. He could also sing, though he refused to showcase it publicly. He even found it repulsive to sing in front of others, preferring to avoid any compliments about his voice, even though it was impressive enough to boast about.
By the time Blue was in tenth grade, he already had experience with intimacy. As he grew older, he found himself enjoying such activities even more. It brought him a unique sense of joy.
“Yuck! You and your twin really are different,” Katleya said, rolling her eyes at him.
“Why? Should we have the same personality? Being nice is boring. Besides, my twin isn’t totally nice. He always smacks me on the head. I almost died once while eating polvoron, can you believe it? And did you see what he did to our dictionary? He used it to cover up his perversions. That’s worse. Minus points for him in heaven.”
“You’re badmouthing your twin. That’s worse,” Katleya countered, unwilling to let anyone insult the man she liked.
“Badmouthing? I’m just stating what he did, which both you and I saw. And earlier, he even brought up my scandal. That’s worse! Don’t be like him. But tell me, have you seen my scandal?” Blue asked.
It had been a year since Blue’s scandal with his ex-girlfriend Teressa exploded on social media. Teressa had lost her phone, which was unfortunately found by an IT graduate who managed to unlock it. However, the incident didn’t bother Blue. If anything, it increased his popularity and piqued the curiosity of many who wanted to experience him firsthand. The video showcased his toned physique and a performance that proved his prowess in bed. Each thrust he made in the video could make viewers move in rhythm.
“I have no plans to watch it. Ew!” Katleya said, rolling her eyes.
“Tss! You should watch it. You’ll laugh. Teressa even twerked while I spanked her big b*tt.”
Katleya couldn’t help but laugh. Blue resembled a child proud of his story, seemingly unaware of how inappropriate it was for the conversation.
“That laugh. You’ve seen it, haven’t you?” Blue said with a smirk, clearly confident in his guess.
“Fine, yes. And you and your girlfriend were disgusting. You’re gross. You should have been suspended or, better yet, expelled.”
“Sorry, but that’s not going to happen because this school is ours,” he said smugly. “But by the way, Teressa and I are no longer together. She left for abroad because she was embarrassed. If she hadn’t lost her phone and the video hadn’t spread, maybe we’d still be together. What do you think?”
“I don’t know. I have no idea. I’m not a fortune teller,” Katleya said firmly.
Blue laughed. “Right? I’m such an idiot. Anyway, I know you. You’re Miss M.U. You danced Swalla so well back then! I got hard watching you. I even patted my little bird and said, ‘If only I were the floor.’”
Katleya Yellownora Marie C. Quizo was the reigning Miss Montenegro, better known as Miss Swalla because of her sensational performance during the talent portion of the pageant. She imitated the famous choreography of K-Pop star Lisa Manoban, leaving many students in awe.
Katleya was the youngest of three siblings. Her family was wealthy, allowing her to buy anything she wanted. She was also an intelligent woman, focused on her studies. She was a consistent Dean’s Lister in her Civil Engineering program, a career she had dreamed of since childhood. Both her parents were engineers and architects, and she wanted to follow in their footsteps.
“You’re really vulgar, but it’s okay. I’m open-minded,” Katleya replied.
“That’s good. So, how about we head back to our classrooms together?” Blue suggested.
Katleya agreed. As they walked, she couldn’t help but ask about Blue’s twin brother.
“How many girlfriends has your twin had? And who were they?” Katleya asked.
“He’s never had a girlfriend. He’s focused on his studies. You know, acting all holy so his soul can be blessed.”
“Seriously? He’s never had a girlfriend? With his looks?”
“Yep! Are you deaf? He’s NGSB (no girlfriend since birth), right? But I’m way more handsome than him, okay? Come closer, I’ll whisper something.”
Katleya stopped walking and leaned in. “What?”
“My twin has a mole on his big bird,” Blue said softly. Katleya burst out laughing. “But it’s annoying. His is bigger than mine. It’s unfair, right? We’re twins, so it should be the same. Tss! So unfair!”
Katleya’s cheeks turned red from everything she heard. She couldn’t believe the new information about the man she liked, yet she found herself entertained by Blue’s unfiltered words.
“You’re funny,” Katleya complimented him.
“I know. And handsome too, right?” Blue bragged.
He smiled as he spotted his friends down the hallway. “Grey! Green!” he called out before pinching Katleya’s cheek. “Bye, Miss M.U. See you again.”
Katleya shrugged as Blue hurried off. Moments later, she smiled, finding herself amused by the playful young man.

WHEN BLUE REACHED his friends, he let out a deep sigh. He couldn’t deny he was out of breath from running.
“Where have you two been?” Blue asked curiously.
His two friends stopped, exchanged glances, and then burst out laughing. Blue bit his lip, sensing that something exciting was about to happen.
“Looks like dinner is set again. Is she sexy? Smooth skin? Big chest?” Blue asked eagerly.
“Yep. Selena, the cheerleader,” Grey replied with a grin.
Zyrielle Grey De Elleonor, or simply Grey, was the most handsome among their group. The youngest of three siblings, he was the son of a businessman and a famous actress. Grey possessed a face that could rival myths, with gentle eyes, a perfectly shaped nose, and slightly rosy lips that caught attention wherever he went.
Blue held the middle part of his body. “Damn. Just her name already makes my butt tingle. When is it? Now? Should we cut class?”
“Idiot! It’s tonight. At our bar,” Green said.
Jeygreen Xris Gutierrez, known simply as Green, was born into a life of luxury. His mother was a businesswoman who married a wealthy Portuguese heir to Hacienda Gutierrez in Portugal. Green’s father was an excellent sommelier, and this expertise led the family to establish a wine business in the Philippines, becoming one of the country’s top distributors of fine wine. Green had inherited his father’s skills and, even at a young age, was already adept at identifying quality wines.
Green was also the youngest in their group. His striking turquoise eyes, chiseled jawline, and prominent nose made him irresistible to many women.
“Tss! Not your place. Your dad will just rat me out again with those cat-like eyes of his glaring at my parents. I’ll be in trouble again,” Blue grumbled.
“Where do you want it?” Green asked.
Blue thought for a moment. “I know now.”
“Where?” Grey asked excitedly, leaning his face closer to Blue.
“Where do they perform the cheer dance?” Blue asked.
“At the school gym!” Green and Grey shouted in unison, giving each other a high five.
Blue stepped in front of them and placed his hands on their shoulders. “Nope. At this moment, I want to experience outdoor sex. So, I decided that we will have sex with Selena at the Greenery Field.”
“W-What?!” the two shouted together.
“That’s it,” Blue said with a wide grin. He was excited about what they were going to do later. He couldn’t deny he was hungry for a woman willing to give her soul. He was definitely a bit of a glutton when it came to that.
“MA’AM, I’VE SECURED IT,” a man said. They were inside a pitch-dark warehouse. Only the moonlight served as illumination. The woman stood silently by a window, deep in thought. The man’s eyes widened when he heard her sobbing—her, the one he called “Ma’am.” He wondered why she was crying when her outward persona never showed such vulnerability.“Ma’am, are you okay?” the man asked.“Why did you kill Red? I told you to kill Blue! Why Red?!” the woman shouted furiously, her voice trembling with rage.“I panicked. I had no choice! Just let it be… my job was clean.”The woman turned to face him. “Clean? Panicked? No choice?” She rushed him and slapped him repeatedly. She was not pleased with his answer. “I paid you a fortune. And you messed it up! You killed a good person! Not a demon!”“But I did shoot Blue too. At least that worked out.”“Yes! You shot him! But the question is, did he die? You killed the wrong one! You’re such a stupid criminal!”“I’m sorry, Ma’am. Next time, I’ll—”“Th
BLUE WAS IN front of the Quizo mansion. He planned to invite them to the Thanksgiving Party at the Scott Hotel, owned by Amber’s family, who was now the CEO of her family’s company. Since Katleya had left, Amber’s life had become more stable. He had managed to move on. In fact, he still kept in touch with her, and they were on good terms. Next week, he would fly to where she was.Blue got out of his car and walked to the Quizo gate, pressing the doorbell. He carried the invitation card he intended to give them. The housemaid opened the gate and let him in.Upon entering, he found Green and Purple in the living room. He smiled at the sight of them. He was happy to see that Purple was pregnant with Green’s child. Back then, they had bickered like cats and dogs, so he never imagined that the two were meant for each other.“Blue,” Green said.“Blue,” Purple said. She was the only one not angry with him, still acknowledging him because she understood him.“Purple, Green, I hope everyone’s
“BABY GIRL,” Black said.He went to find Grey at the De Elleonor restaurant. Grey was already waiting there. They had been apart for almost three months. No matter what flirty tricks Black tried, none of them worked anymore. Grey had been hurt when Black had pushed him away at the moment he needed him the most.“Will you stop? You’re not funny anymore,” Grey said irritably.“I just want you to understand me. I did that because—”“Because you were ashamed of me.” Grey cut him off, looking straight into his eyes. Tears welled up. “It’s that simple. I needed you that night, but you pushed me away like I was some stray cat. That was enough evidence to prove you couldn’t be relied upon when I needed you.”“Baby girl, I was scared.” Tears ran down Black’s face. “You know that.”“I was too,” Grey said firmly, pointing at his ex. “But I fought. I fought for my love for you. I even left, but what? You couldn’t even help me. You could’ve stayed with me for just one night, but you didn’t because
“ZYRIELLE, COME HERE,” Melchora said coldly. She had just returned from a guesting on a talk show. As Grey sat on the sofa, she placed some photos in front of him. Grey’s eyes widened at what he saw. They were pictures of him and Black holding hands in a hotel. His father had just arrived home, having come from outside. His parents had arrived almost together, but his father had stayed behind to sort out the car. “These came from your father’s friend. Check-in at a five-star hotel with a model named Blackarlito,” Melchora slammed the small table in front of them. “Holding hands! What is this, Zyrielle?!” “You weren’t raised to date someone of your own gender,” Carlo, his father, said. Grey remained silent. He hadn’t realized anyone had seen them. “You have nothing to say? Whatever relationship you have with him, stop it,” Melchora said angrily. “We’re not happy about this either,” Carlo added. “I love him,” Grey said, lowering his head. He was afraid of his parents. Melchora s
TWO MONTHS HAD passed since Katleya had gone far away. There had been no communication from her family because of the last message she sent to Black. She had said she had arrived safely at her destination and that there was no need to worry. She also informed them that she would not contact them for the time being. Her family trusted her completely, so they were confident that she was happy in California.Purple was currently at the mall, shopping for personal items. As she looked for a store, she raised an eyebrow upon seeing Fuchsia holding hands with a man. As far as she knew, Fuchsia was Black’s girlfriend. When Fuchsia and the man entered a restaurant, Purple followed them. To avoid being recognized, she took a hat from her bag and put it on. She entered the restaurant to observe them. Something felt off. She suspected they were deceiving her brother—and she wasn’t going to allow it.“My brother is perfect for you to deceive. If my suspicion is right…” Purple muttered angrily to
“We understand you, Kat. Just be careful there, okay? Promise us you’ll be fine,” Ezmeralda said.“I will, Mom. Please don’t worry about me.”“What time are you leaving?” Purple asked.“8:30 AM is my plan. I should be out of the house by then.”Black’s eyes widened, and he glanced at the clock. “It’s already 6:20! Start packing. I’ll take you.”“No. Don’t take me anymore. I’ll only get sadder. Let Amber do it,” Katleya said.“Wait, Kat? Isn’t Amber your boyfriend? How can you still love Blue?” Ezmeralda asked.Purple raised a brow. “True. I didn’t think of that. My summa cum laude brain wasted on a cheap theory like this. I’m useless. I guess I need a better cemetery.”Everyone laughed at Purple’s commentary. Once they settled down, Katleya explained everything about her and Amber. Her parents understood, but they also felt sorry for Amber because they saw how much he loved her.Hours later, Amber arrived. The family escorted Katleya outside the mansion. Purple carried two suitcases.
