One Hundred and thirty

WE CAME IN PEACE

"Nicholas?" That was the first word in a very long silence. Nicholas tilted his head and stared at Avery.

"Yes?" He responded.

"Thank you."

"For what?" He asked, knowing full well why she was thanking him.

"This - All this - Seeing my father and visiting my hometown. Thank you."

Nicholas smiled. He wanted to say something when he saw a deer standing still on its own. "Shhh!" He raised his hands, gesturing them to stop. They all obeyed and saw the reason why they were asked to stop. He stared at Avery. "I think we have a great catch for your people." He smiled and brought out his bow and arrow.

"You brought a bow and an arrow?" Avery asked surprisingly.

"Yes, I did." He smiled, aiming at the deer. He shot the arrow. "Headshot." He said and they heard a thud on the dry leaves.

Two guards ran toward the kill and carried it on with its legs. "The deer is quite big." One of the guards informed him and he nodded his head.
