Damien’s POV

“Your grace, you need to come see this immediately.”

One of my men says and I sprint past the trees, my boots crushing dead leaves and my heart pounding hard against my chest just at the prospect of what I know I’m about to see.

Earlier today, we had sent some of the men to go patrol the borders for any funny movements but not too long after one of them ran back, panting hard with reports about finding more bodies at the border.

Immediately we followed after him and as soon as my eyes fell on the buddies, my mouth fell open.

But what I didn’t know was that that was just the beginning.

Since being in the forest, we have seen more bodies than we can even account for.

People dropped like dead flies.

I gasped.

“This is crazy. This has to be the people they sent out for the rogue mission.” Vale says, joining beside me, but I just stand there, so perplexed to even muster any words.”
