Elena’s POV

He reaches for the door, pushing it open with a simple ease.

“After you,” he says gently, ushering me in.

I hesitate for a moment, drawing a deep breath before stepping inside.

As soon as we walk in, warmth greets

me instantly as I run my eyes over the place, noticing the size is not much different from the outside.

But it is good enough as we don’t need something too big so we don’t draw unnecessary attention to it.

The warmth isn’t the stifling kind that you'll expect from a small place. Just gentle and welcoming, making me realize how cold outside actually was

Candlelight flickers along the walls, casting dancing shadows across the wood.

Everything appears new so you could tell he indeed just built it.

“So you really did this yourself?” I ask gently.

He nods.

“Yes, yes I did.”

  • FATED TO THE ALPHA'S SHADOW   Chapter 58

Elena’s POVI know this is dangerous and I shouldn’t be doing it. The thought follows me for the upteenth time as Bianca tightens the last ribbon at my back. Her fingers that are known to be quick and practiced, tremble slightly. The candlelight casting the shadow of our action across my wall, makes me feel more uneasy than I already am.“Your highness, are you sure about this?” she asks again, eyes flicking between me and the door.Honestly, no. I’m not very sure about this Bianca, but I have to do it. This is what we are reading to do. This is the only way to rescue everyone and put a stop to the madness,” I reply honestly. She drew in a deep breath. After finally clasping the last button, she draws her hands over my cloak before pulling the hood over my head enough to hide my face without obstructing my vision.I’m dressed very casually. No jewellery, no sigil and definitely nothing else that marks me as a Luna because for this endeavor, I have to go as a nobody. That is the only

Elena’s POV“Well,” his jaw tightens and he runs his hand through his hair pacing back-and-forth in the middle of the room before stopping in front of me.I was settled on a chair close to my table, waiting for him to spill whatever he had to.“We are called the shadows,” he begins. “We pull forgotten omegas and rogues out of the slum before destruction can meet them.”My breath catches.“Like your mission is to rescue them?”I have to ask because I don’t know if there’s more to it. It just doesn’t make sense that two brothers would be that different. He nods. “Yeah, that’s exactly my mission. Rescue them, provide for them and give them the chance at a better life.”“Are you sure or you’re preparing them for something else?”He pauses, staring at me in silence.I look away, feeling the heat burn a little too deep.“ something else like what?”I shrug. “I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking you.”He leaned down, crouching low in front of me.“I mean, you could just be doing all that for

Elena’s POV“What are you doing here?” I hear Lukas’s voice ringing out at someone, but I don’t know who it is. Thankfully, I was quick enough to drag the daring man in front of me into my room before Lukas got close. A second later and things could have been so much worse for him. For us actually. We stand in place, not daring to move or even breathe. After a moment of not breathing, we finally had them footsteps fading away and just like that, the threat that left our boat paralyzed for a second disappeared. But my nightmare isn’t over.As soon as we are able to breathe again, another wave of silence quickly follows— now just buy our own judgments.Because that is when I notice our position. I’m literally sandwiched between him and the door, parts of our body that have no business with each other are pressing gently against jolting unwanted electricity through my body.I don’t even have time to think of the next move before Damien makes his.His hands slam flat against the door bes

  • FATED TO THE ALPHA'S SHADOW   Chapter 55

Damien’s POVI shouldn’t be here.I really shouldn’t because if I’m caught like Vale said, I will have no one to complain about myself. So every instinct in my body is screaming against my presence in the palace, my wolf is reacting restlessly as I slip through a corridor heading for the wing I know would be hers because no matter how much I know I should not be here, I can’t help myself. After all, I’ve done worse infiltrations than this. More actual scary ones. But none of them had the ultimate price drawing me in?Her.As soon as I get to her wing, I look around and thankfully, I’m at a blind spot of the guard placed there. It is late in the evening and I know she’s either going to be in her room or somewhere in the Palace Grounds. But even if she isn’t in her room, I intend to wait because I’m not leaving without seeing her.But I don’t have to wait for long.A scent hits me. Hard. It’s not perfume or flowers, but something warmer. Something familiar and very much wanted. My wolf

Lukas POV.“Where are you going? Is that how you sneak out of bed and say thank you to the person who kept you warm all night?”My voice calls out, though it’s too rough with sleep. She pauses, letting the silence stretch between us for a moment before finally turning back to me.“Well to be honest, I didn’t really ask for warmth. I have been doing well alone in this room since I came into the palace and don’t really need the extra warmth from anyone,” she says, looking away from me.“Hmm, I see.”I draw in a deep breath, laying back onto the bed to find a bit of the comfort I felt last night before falling asleep. The same comfort I have been feeling ever since I started sleeping in her room.I can’t remember when I last slept for this long. Her nightmare and my decision to start sleeping in her room is supposed to be for her but turns out it is helping me even more than the person it’s supposed to help. She just stands there, staring at me.I can tell she has a lot to say but for so
