LOGIN“No one is around. You can stop staring at me as if I am someone special to you,” I breathed, feeling uncomfortable under his burning gaze. “Why?” Malik asked calmly, his deep voice sending a shiver down my spine. “It’s simple. You are gay,” I scoffed bitterly. “And you believed that?” he smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. ~~~ Odeya is the future Luna of the Mooncrest Pack. She never liked that her destined mate came from the Duskbane family, but she slowly fell in love with him after he defended her from her stepsister, who constantly mocked her for her body size and for being a Wolfless Omega. Just three days before their wedding, Odeya overhears her mate reminding her stepsister of their secret plan. His mission is to marry Odeya, become the Grand Alpha after her father dies, then frame Odeya for cheating and have her banished from the pack so he can marry the woman he truly loves, which is her own stepsister. She was heartbroken and trapped. The entire pack already knows that the Grand Alpha's daughter is getting married in three days to a man from the respected Duskbane family. Calling off the wedding would bring shame to her family and throw the pack into chaos. When all hope seems lost, Malik Duskbane, her mate's mysterious twin brother, who is rumored to be attracted to men, offers her a contract marriage. He claims it will silence the rumors surrounding him and save her from a lifetime of betrayal. But can Odeya trust another Duskbane? Or will she sacrifice her happiness by marrying the mate who plans to destroy her?

“I hope he has not gone far,” I said to myself, running out to check on my mate, who had come to visit me tonight and, after spending some time with me, had left a while ago. We forgot our usual hug before departing. I searched for him throughout this big compound, even at the outer part of the main gate, but he was nowhere to be found. I wondered how he could have walked so far when he did not even bring his car. At the same time, my gut was telling me that he was still lurking around, but where? I sighed heavily, my shoulders dropping in defeat. I started dragging my tired legs back to my building, my hand on my chest, trying to steady my breathing. I was already drenched in sweat. Moments like this only reminded me how much I hated being a thick girl. “Did you see Mason walk out of the main gate?” I asked the two guards who were standing in front of my mini-mansion. I still wanted to be sure that he left. They gave each other a nervous look before turning their heads back to me. “He jogged to the other building.” One of them pointed to my stepsister's building, which is built exactly like mine. “Hun…” I raised an eyebrow, doubting them. “Are you sure? Or do you want to say that he went to the main villa?” I corrected them, hoping they meant he went to my father and his wife's villa. Yeah, we live in different buildings, but in the same compound. “Yes,” they answered together. “Yes, as in what?” I frowned. “Yes, we are sure that he entered Lady Selene's building,” One of them replied firmly. My body stiffened as a wave of cold fear gripped me. What could Mason be looking for in Selene's building at this time of the day? He hated her and was always disgusted by her nasty behaviour. In fact, he still called her all sorts of names when he was with me a few minutes ago. So, how can they even be under the same roof? Did he leave me to be with her too? I shook my head to stop myself from overthinking, but I still couldn't help it because that is the way I am. I grew up not being anyone's first choice. I am just a year older than my stepsister because my father, who is the Grand Alpha of this Pack, decided to remarry just two months after my mother died during childbirth. I was raised as Selene's servant because she was the perfect daughter, with strong Wolf features and beauty standards everyone admired. So, because I don't fit into any of those, people called me the wrong successor. Unfortunately for them, nothing can change the truth because, no matter what, I am the first child. My existence made my step-sister and stepmother hate me deeply, so they have bullied and set me up so many times. I could easily let go of the power and wealth they dearly wanted, but it would be cheating for my late mother, who is originally of the Royal bloodline but married my unworthy father. I am just grateful that despite being Wolfless, the Council still granted me the chance to remain the successor. Their only condition was that I would be mated to someone with a powerful Alpha bloodline who is worthy of ruling beside me as a Luna in the future. My mate, Mason. What makes it even more precious is that I truly love my mate even though I don't like his family. Once, when he didn't realize I was watching, he lashed out at Selene for bullying me. Losing him would shatter me. I wanted to run inside my mansion and cover my whole body with my duvet, then fantasize about life after getting married and being marked by my mate. I didn't want to worry at all, but I still needed to confirm whether these guards were telling the truth. Each step I took toward my stepsister's building made my legs feel heavier. When I got to the entrance, I tiptoed to the door and pressed my ears, but I didn't hear anything. I breathed out in relief and turned to leave; it was just then that I started hearing distant voices. I froze. I knew it was from the room because I was familiar with the structure of the building. With my heart beating hard, I traced the voices and quietly crouched beneath the room's window. It was exactly Mason's voice. My body swelled with jealousy at the thought that he was in her room. I nervously clasped my sweaty palms together, pushing every thought aside to listen to what they were saying. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't what I was thinking. “Do you know how painful it is to be the one satisfying your sexual urges for the past three months, but the world will soon know you as the soulmate of someone else?” Selene's voice shook as she cried out. I gasped in shock, my heart squeezing tightly. It was too much. I wanted to take time to process what I just heard, but it hit me hard again. Sexual urges. Three months. My knees gave out beneath me, and my butt hit the ground so hard that the impact sent a sharp sting through my body. My trembling hands flew to my mouth, muffling the scream that was threatening to tear my throat apart. “Did you just say soulmate?” Mason scoffed in annoyance. “There is nothing like that between me and that fat ass whose life is only meaningful because she is the first daughter of the Grand Alpha.” My heart burned at his insult. He turned out to be like all of them. “You can't be serious right now. Do you think I am stupid? Odeya is your mate, and after you two get married in three days, you will mate and mark her. Then I will be nothing but a used and dumped product,” Selene argued. Tears welled up in my eyes. “I was never in love with that girl, even though she is my mate, baby. At first, she wasn't interested in me either, but I had to trick her soft mind because I needed that position she would give me if I became her partner. “ Mason laughed as he spoke. A painful tear rolled down my cheeks. He is talking about becoming the Grand Alpha. “So what now?” Selene hissed loudly in irritation. “Since, along the way, I fell in love with you, my plan will go the way it should, but some things will be changing after.” My head hurt so bad as I tried to focus on listening to what they were saying. “You are trying to say that my father is already in the sickbed, which is why the council is hurrying to get Odeya married so that someone is set to take the position of a Grand Alpha. Your chance to have what you wanted is closer, but what about my stepsister? How will you get rid of her? You think you can easily fling someone who is marked by you?” She lashed out angrily, sounding impatient. “Relax, I am not planning to mate or mark her. She will be banished out of the pack once a cheating allegation is framed against her by me, and then we can live happily,” I heard him speak so evilly that a shiver ran down my spine. My chest tightened until it hurt to breathe, my heart splintering into pieces. “What makes you think I will believe you?” Selene questioned, although she sounded a bit happy. “I am not stupid enough to overlook your mother's strong desire to make you your father's successor. So, I will make that easy and have more supporters behind me,” Mason groaned. I heard him step closer to her, and the sound of them hungrily kissing each other filled the air. I raised my heavy, blurry eyes to the sky, hoping that the God who created me could see my sufferings. It hurts. He lied and tricked me. He wanted to use me. At the end of the day, I meant nothing to anyone. I cried my eyes out in silence as their moans made my head ache painfully. I forced my shivering hands to my knees as deep and raw hatred formed a knot in my heart. I will not allow them to win. I ignored the stings that fired across my whole body and stomped towards the entrance of my stepsister's building.Malik’s POV ‘Mate!’ Mate? My Wolf had stirred violently at the sight of her. I felt so many strange feelings awakened in me by her presence, but how is that even possible? I had lived too long with loneliness and hatred running through my veins, so feeling anything this deeply unsettled me. I hate it. I never craved to be tied to someone. At least not her. Someone I had only watched from afar, knowing that my brother valued her above everything because she was his mate, and a ladder to greater power. Having her was supposed to be the greatest achievement of his life. At least, that was what I thought until she came here with faintly swollen eyes and a dry, exhausted face, like someone who had cried herself empty throughout the night. It got worse to know he had cheated on her with her own sister. What in the name of stupidity could have driven him to take such a risk? Of course it's arrogance and lack of self-control. He was confident that no on
Odeya's POV After leaving those cheaters last night, I rushed to report to my sick father. Just as expected, he disagreed with my cancelling the wedding because it would call for an emergency meeting with the Pack councils and an uproar among the people. I wept nonstop, unable to get a wink of sleep. The words ringing in my head throughout the night were my father's weak voice repeatedly telling me. “Forgive him; he is a man and wouldn't do it again after marriage” Is it that what those two did to me is not worthy of any punishment? Besides, I have vowed to Mason, in Selene's presence, that I would not end up with him. I will not allow them to win. This morning, I had forced myself out of bed to bathe and get dressed. Now, I am standing in front of the Duskbane family house, knocking on the giant gate for the past twenty minutes, but no one has answered. I even called Mason's number, but there was no response. “Do they know that I am the one standing h
Odeya's POV Luckily for me, the door wasn't locked. So, it was easier for me to find my way into the building. Each step I took sent a burning ache to my heart. My mind also screamed at me to turn back, knowing that I wouldn't be able to take in what I was about to see, but I waved off the fear and continued walking. I painfully bit my lower lip when I started hearing their moans the moment I got to the front of the room. A silent cry escaped my lips as I shut my eyes and forcefully pushed the door open to find my husband to be, and my stepsister now fully naked on the bed, with her butt hanging in the air as she tried to ride him. Both of them snapped their heads toward me at the same time, their mouths falling open in shock at the sight of me. “Damn,” Mason cursed, roughly pushing my stepsister away from himself. “I can explain to you.” He curled in shame as he roamed his eyes around the room for his clothes. He sighed, shoulders falling in defeat when he could
