11. THE FAMILY.
The day had been long and tiresome. The events were both good and bad. The master and mistress came home that evening and so did the rest of the siblings. The once free environment became very toxic and suffocating. It did not feel like a family and gave of the feeling of an office where the manager was constantly at the employee demanding for results. The only ones who behaved like family were Jayden and Jodie.
She helped the maids set the table as she wanted to avoid staying with a family this suffocating. Her life had not been an easy one but right now she needed light not more darkness. They all ate silently and in a robotic way. Occasionally, she felt someone gazing at her and it made shivers run up and down her spine at an alarming rate. Someone walked in a slightly lit dark corridor. The light that managed to penetrate only illuminated the path enough for a little vision. The person kept on walking into things and walking while holding the wall. They had carried something that was important. Night was upon them and the environment was as quiet as a cemetery. The lights were out as everyone was having a dream or two. There was no wind that night. However, someone walked out of the household. They had a cloak on them making it difficult for anyone to recognize them. They jumped over the wall and fled.Morning came and those in the residence went on with their duties as if nothing had happened. The runaway had already gotten close to their destination. Even they had been normal, they would have taken a whole night plus half the day to get there on foot but they had their way.
