15. DAYS GONE BY.

It had been two days since that night and everything had gone smoothly if she had to say. She had managed to avoid the mistress of the house, the husband, the kids and any distractions in her work. Jayden had somehow warmed up to her since that night but she still felt incomplete like something was missing.

She closed the chest she had opened and walked to her seat. She could consider herself lucky as she was given a room all to herself, food was provided and she could use the library if she so desired. She had stationed her seat by the window so that she could look out. The view from her seat was breathtaking no matter how many times she saw it.

There was a huge tree right by her window. It wasn’t too close to inconvenience the light but it wasn’t too far either. It would shed its leaves as the wind blew by making the view spectacular. Holding her book in hand, she took a seat and placed it on her lap. She wondered what had happ
