As Lucian stepped in, the first scent he searched for was Ethan’s, but he couldn’t perceive it.

He moved further into the apartment, but Ethan’s scent was nowhere to be found. His brow furrowed as the realization settled in—Ethan was not home.

Butler Ben emerged from the kitchen, bowing slightly as he greeted him. “Welcome back, Master.”

Lucian took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress the anger slowly rising in his chest.

8 p.m. Be home, or there will be consequences.

The instruction had been simply short and clear. Yet his little mate refused to fucking listen. Was he simply trying to drive him to the edge? Did he crave another punishment?
