Lucas and I slept over at his room in the pack house that day, deciding to have breakfast there the next morning. He had another set of clothes and toiletries in his suite at the top of the pack house and he had enough foresight to have someone transfer some of my things from his home to his suite.

I rolled over to him as soon as the first rays of sunshine filtered in through the blinds and poked his cheek. He didn't move. I poked it again, liking the bouncy sensation of his soft cheek. I giggled as his brow furrowed as he struggled to keep a straight face and pretend to still be asleep. I poked again and one of his eyes shot open as he glared at me.

"Is this how I'll get to wake up for the rest of my life? And it's barely even morning yet!"

I giggled as he shut his eye again and went back to pretending he was asleep.

"Wake up, Lucas", I said. "I want to go to the gym today."

He groaned and opened his tow eyes. "Can't I have an extra thirty minutes of sleep? I'm not a morning person."

He was fast. Faster than I thought a wolf this large could be, and I thought he could almost beat me in a race. In peak condition, I was one of the fastest in the pack, and that was only because I pushed myself so hard. It seemed like Luxe didn't even have to exert himself to keep up the pace. He moved with pantherish grace, leaping over shrubs and low hanging branches with ease. My hair ruffled in the breeze and I was tempted to let go of Luxe's fur and stretch my arms to either side of me.We hurtled past the trees, his paws barely making a sound on the hard-packed dirt, until as abruptly as he started, he stopped. It was a clearing, large and so perfectly circular, it looked man-made. A waterfall seemed to materialize out of nowhere, it's waters spilling into a small pool surrounded with bits of greenery. A large, checkered picnic blanket had been spread just to the side of the pool and a basket sat on it. Slowly, I slid down Luxe's back, and he disappeared i

  • FERAL    Chapter 52

Alexis held a dark blue, sparky cocktail dress I'd never seen before and had no idea where it came from to her front and tilted her hips so that the dress swished back and forth."What about this?", She asked."For the last time, Alexis, it's a picnic, not a dinner party!""Have you guys been adding to my wardrobe?", I asked curiously. I had no recollection of picking out majority of the dresses now scattered all over."Lucas has", Alexis answered me, and to Meg, "There is no such thing as overdressed. Besides, it might not stay on for long."I groaned, hiding my face in my palms, and Meg hooted, clapping Alexis a high-five."It's not like that, you guys! I already told you!", I protested.Alexis affected a fake British accent. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."Meg laughed again. Alexis tossed the dress to t

  • FERAL    Chapter 51

Adrienne's POVI watched as Lucas's whole demeanor changed. His eyes grew darker, his voice lower."You aren't going to freak out on me like the last time, are you?", He asked.I toyed with one of the many protruding veins in his forearm. "Maybe."He groaned. "Adri..."I reached up and pushed my name back down his throat with my lips, swallowing his surprised groan. His arms quickly came around my waist, spanning me with large hands, and pulling me even closer to him. Every inch of my body through the thin fabric of the shirt I had donned was pressed to the hard planes of his unclothed chest. He quickly dominated the kiss, angling my head backwards until his hands on me were the only things keeping me steady. He kissed me thoroughly, using his tongue in the most blatant imitation of copulation until I was weak-kneed with thirst. I released a small whimper and slowly, he pulled aw

"Where'd you learn how to cook?", I asked Lucas as he transferred waffles he'd made from scratch from the waffle maker onto a plate."My mom", he answered. "She insisted on it.""Why?""My dad couldn't cook to save his life", Lucas said, sounding a bit wistful. "Mom was determined I didn't end up like him." He chuckled. "The joke was on her though. Alexis can't cook."I laughed. "What happened to your dad?", I asked softly, unsure if this was a sensitive topic.Lucas dropped strawberries on my plate and sliced a banana, drizzling the whole thing with honey, before answering me. "He died during a rogue attack when I was sixteen. Silver knife to his heart.""Oh."Lucas shrugged. "He kept on fighting till he couldn't. There wasn't much that could be done to save him.""That must've been a hard time for you", I said. "I'm

  • FERAL    Chapter 49

I woke up from what was definitely the most restful sleep I've had in a long while, a warm body pressed against me, feeling so good that I almost purred. I blinked sleepiness out of my eyes and looked around, for a while forgetting where I was. The sight of Lucas's strong arm above me brought me to my senses. His strong, *bare* arm.I looked down at myself and yelped, shooting away from his loose grip. He stirred, and his eyes opened."Sweetheart", he said sleepily, smiling. His bare torso glistened in the faint morning light. I yelped again, grabbing the first thing I could find and yanking it over my front, up to my chin. It was part of the top sheet."Where are my clothes?", I shrieked. I did a mental catalogue of my clothing and found I was only wearing underpants.Lucas's brow furrowed. "Uhh..." He looked at something in a corner of the room. I followed his eyes and recognized the crumpled fabri

  • FERAL    Chapter 48

She slid over him, all of her former reservation gone, not even waiting for an answer. She all but attacked him, her mouth devouring his, tongue dominating him. She hummed against his mouth, fingers digging into his scalp, jolting him into action. Their tongues clashed together, cresting and falling, like waves of desire. The deep breath Lucas drew in was tanged with the strong scent of her arousal, and Lucas hardened almost painfully, his mind scrambled. He had to put a stop to this, and fast. He might have trusted his control before, but he didn't dare do that now. His body was reacting in ways he'd never thought possible. He didn't want to hurt her, although the way she rocked her hips above him made him feel he couldn't.He started to pull back, using every ounce of control he'd ever learned in his life, but surprisingly strong fingers kept him in place. She was like a queen plundering. Lucas silently corrected himse
