44****Natalie's POV****On my way to the hospital, I had decided to get beverages for Maurice, alongside a bouquet of flowers as Maurice had always done. Inhaling the flowers when I got close to the VIP ward of the hospital, I was reminded of Maurice's predicament and current state of health. 45****Maurice's POV****The pain at the sides of my stomach never ceased, it seemed to have increased this morning and despite the urge surging within me, I didn't heed to groaning. I feigned weak smiles as my mother stood very close to the door of the ward. I hated to see her cry. Writhing in pain and moaning in low tunes, I gave in to tightening my fist as two nurses clad in blue advanced towards me. “Your surgery will be taking place in an hour, mister!" The taller nurse said. “We will be conducting some laboratory tests, and physical examination to prep you for your surgery" she added, waiting to get my approval before she gets to business. “Sure!" I affirmed. A test was ran on my abdomen, followed by a general test and I was administered a pain relief, transfused directly through my veins. In few minutes, the pain lessened. 47****Maurice's POV****The sound of approaching footsteps diverted my attention, I looked up at once and my eyes litted when I discovered it was Natalie. 48****Kevin's POV****A month and a week later, I was still in the custody of the SWAT team. I had been moved to a detention area, not too far from the previous office I was arrested. Three weeks ago, I was granted a bail hearing, a pre trial, after Elle's manipulative confession of sexual assault and domestic abuse. I didn't succeed as expected. The points my attorney gave weren't enough to swoon the judge. Elle gave solid evidences of her face pictures and some part of her body which looked reddened than the others. 49****Natalie's POV****Maurice began to walk better two weeks after. He didn't light limp like he did the day he resumed work at the company. I frequented taking documents to him myself and fervently hoped for joint tasks with Maurice, as my father had always done in earlier days.
