Cherish’s POV

The email arrived at 4:12 p.m.

Subject: Office HoursFrom: Professor Dalton Crowe
Come to my office after your last class. Don’t be late.

No explanation. No soft language. Just an order wrapped in polite academic formatting.

I told myself I wouldn’t go. I lasted exactly eleven minutes before I started packing my bag. My hands were already restless. My body remembered the weight of his palm on my waist from two days ago, the slow stroke of his thumb, the way my skin had lit up like it had been waiting for him.

I hated that he could do that with so little effort.
By the time I reached the faculty building, most of the lights on the upper floors were off. The hallway outside his office was quiet enough that I could hear my own pulse. I knocked once.

“Come in.”

I stepped inside. The second the door clicked shut behind me, he reached past my shoulder and turned the lock. The soft sound felt louder than it should have.

Dalton stood close enough that I had to tilt my chin up to meet his eyes. He was still in the black shirt he’d worn to class, sleeves rolled to his elbows, top button undone. He looked calm. I felt anything but.

“You wanted to see me, Professor?” I kept my voice cool, almost bored.

“Don’t call me that when we’re alone.”

“It’s what you are.”

He stepped forward. I stepped back. My hips bumped the edge of his desk.

“You’re still trying to pretend this is professional,” he said quietly. “It’s almost cute.”

“It is professional. You’re my professor. I’m your student. That night at the club was a mistake.”

“Was it?”

His hands landed on either side of me, caging me against the desk without touching me yet. The heat of his body soaked through my clothes. I could smell his cologne again—something dark and expensive that made my stomach tighten.

“I already told you,” I said. “I don’t do this. Whatever this is.”

“And yet you came.”

I opened my mouth to answer. He kissed me instead.

There was nothing hesitant about it. One of his hands slid into my hair, tilting my head back so he could kiss me deeper. His mouth was hot and controlled and filthy all at once. I made a sound against his lips that I would have been embarrassed about if I could still think straight.

My hands, traitorously, fisted in the front of his shirt.
He kissed me like he already knew how I tasted. Like he’d been thinking about it since the club.

When he finally pulled back just enough to speak, his voice was rougher.

“Still want to call it a mistake?”

I didn’t get the chance to answer. His mouth returned, and this time his hands moved. He gripped my hips and lifted me onto the desk in one smooth motion, stepping between my knees.

Papers slid and fluttered to the floor. Neither of us cared.

His palms slid under my shirt, warm and sure. He pushed the fabric up without asking. I raised my arms like my body had already decided to cooperate. The shirt landed somewhere behind him. Cool air hit my skin for half a second before his hands replaced it.

He didn’t tease this time.

He tugged the cups of my bra down, freeing me, and then his mouth was on me. Hot. Wet. Open.

He sucked one nipple between his lips and used his tongue in slow, deliberate strokes that made my head fall back. A broken sound escaped my throat.

My fingers tangled in his hair, holding him there even while some distant part of me knew I should push him away.

“Dalton—”

He made a low sound against my skin and switched to the other breast, giving it the same focused attention. His hand came up to cup the first one, thumb brushing the wet, sensitive peak he’d just left.

Every pull of his mouth sent another sharp pulse straight between my legs. I was already aching. Already wet. Already losing.

He bit down gently, then soothed the sting with his tongue. My hips shifted forward without permission, seeking friction he wasn’t giving me yet.

“You’re shaking,” he murmured against my skin.

“Shut up.”

He laughed softly, the sound dark and pleased, and went back to work. He was relentless. Every time I thought I was getting used to the sensation, he changed the pressure or the angle or scraped his teeth just enough to make my breath hitch.

My thighs tightened around his hips. I could feel how hard he was through his pants, but he still didn’t grind against me. He just kept using his mouth and hands like my pleasure was the only thing that mattered.

I was so close it was humiliating.

My fingers clenched harder in his hair. My breathing had turned into short, uneven gasps. The tension coiled low and tight, ready to snap—
And then he stopped.

He pulled his mouth away and rested his forehead against mine, both of us breathing hard. His hands stayed on my waist, thumbs stroking the soft skin just below my bra.

My nipples were wet from his mouth, tight and throbbing in the cool air. I felt empty and furious and desperate all at once.

“Look at me,” he said.

I did. His eyes were darker than I’d ever seen them.

“Next time you let another man touch you,” he said quietly, “I won’t stop.”

The words sank in slowly. A warning and a promise at the same time.

He stepped back. The loss of his body heat made me shiver. He reached down, picked up my shirt from the floor, and held it out to me without a word.

I took it with unsteady hands and pulled it on. My bra was still shoved beneath my breasts. I didn’t fix it. I wasn’t sure I could with the way my fingers were trembling.

Dalton walked to the door, unlocked it, and opened it wide. The empty hallway stretched out behind him, fluorescent lights buzzing softly.

He looked at me—flushed, lips swollen, shirt wrinkled, still sitting on his desk like something he’d half-unwrapped and decided to save for later.

“You can go, Miss Langford.”

I slid off the desk on legs that didn’t feel entirely solid. I walked past him without speaking. My shoulder almost brushed his chest. I caught the faint scent of his cologne one last time and kept moving.

I made it three steps into the hallway before I realized my hands were still shaking.

Behind me, the door closed with a quiet, final click.

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    Just Sex

Cherish’S POV I waited until the last of the afternoon classes had ended before I went looking for him. The faculty hallway was quieter than usual. Most of the office doors were closed. When I reached his, it was half open. Dalton sat behind the desk with his sleeves rolled to the elbows, staring at a blank space on the wall. A faint bruise had already started to darken across the knuckles of his right hand. The same hand that had connected with Adrian’s jaw only a few hours earlier. He looked up when I stepped inside. Something moved across his face—relief, tension, something harder to name—but he didn’t speak first. I closed the door behind me harder than I needed to. The sound was sharp in the quiet room. “You punched him in front of half the campus.” Dalton leaned back in the chair slowly. “I know.” “People recorded it. A staff member saw it happen. Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” “Yes.” The calm in his voice made the anger under my skin burn hotter. I stepped cl

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    Breaking Point

Cherish’s POV Adrian insisted on walking me to class the next monday. “It’s on my way,” he said when I told him he didn’t have to. “Besides, I want to see you before the weekend.” I didn’t have a strong enough reason to refuse, so I let him. We crossed the main courtyard side by side under a pale sky. He talked about a group project that was already falling apart, about a professor who still refused to post lecture slides online, about how Lila had already texted him three times asking how the date had gone. I gave short answers and tried to look like someone who had slept properly. The hollow feeling from the night before still sat under my ribs like something unfinished. The kiss had been kind. That was the problem. Kindness hadn’t been enough to quiet anything inside me. Students moved around us in loose groups, coffee cups in hand, earbuds in, laughing about things that felt very far away. Adrian slowed his steps so I wouldn’t have to rush. He was being careful with me. Co

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    The Date

Cherish’a POV Adrian chose a small Italian restaurant a short walk from campus. Warm lights hung over wooden tables, and the air smelled of garlic, tomato, and fresh bread. It was the kind of place that felt safe—quiet enough for real conversation, busy enough that silence never became uncomfortable. He stood when I reached the table and pulled out my chair. “You look really nice,” he said. “Thanks.” I sat down and placed my bag beside my feet. “This place is cute.” “I thought it might be better than another loud bar.” He smiled, easy and open. “Less chance of Lila appearing out of nowhere to give live commentary.” I managed a small laugh. “She does have a talent for that.” We ordered drinks first. Adrian asked what I liked and then told the waiter without making a show of it. When the glasses arrived he lifted his slightly. “To new attempts,” he said. I touched my glass to his and took a sip. The wine was decent. Everything about the evening so far was decent. That should

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    Distance

Cherish’s POV Dalton didn’t move as I walked toward him. The streetlight above him cast a hard yellow circle on the pavement. His hands stayed in the pockets of his dark coat, shoulders straight, expression carefully controlled. For a second I considered turning around and walking the long way to the back entrance of the building. It would have been easier. Instead I stopped a few feet away from him and forced myself to meet his eyes. “Where were you?” he asked. His voice was quiet. That made it worse. “Out,” I said. “With who?” I could have lied. Part of me wanted to. Lying would have kept the conversation shorter. But I was tired of shorter. I was tired of careful answers and half-truths that only delayed the inevitable. “Lila’s cousin. Adrian.” Something shifted behind his eyes, so fast I almost missed it. He stayed perfectly still, but the air between us tightened. “You ignored every message I sent tonight.” “I needed space.” “Space.” He repeated the word like he was e

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    The Cousin

Cherish’s POV Lila showed up at my apartment at seven with a half-finished bottle of wine in one hand and a determined look that meant I wasn’t getting out of this. “Get dressed,” she said, already walking past me into the living room. “Something cute. Not the hoodie you’ve been living in. We’re going out.” I closed the door behind her. “I’m not really in the mood.” “That’s exactly why you’re coming. You’ve been weird for days. You barely answer my texts, you look like you haven’t slept properly, and every time your phone lights up you stare at it like it might explode. So tonight we’re fixing that.” I didn’t have the energy to fight her. After the call with my mother and the growing weight of everything connected to Dalton, the idea of staying alone with my thoughts felt worse than going out. I changed into black jeans and a simple top, pulled my hair into a loose ponytail, and followed her downstairs. The bar Lila chose was close to campus, loud enough that conversation had to

  • FORBIDDEN HANDS: My Cold Professor    The Call

Cherish’s POV The apartment was too quiet. I sat on the edge of my bed with the lights off, phone resting face-down on the blanket beside me. It had been ringing and buzzing since morning. My mother’s name kept appearing on the screen like it was trying to wear me down through sheer persistence. I had ignored every call and every text. I told myself I needed time. I told myself I would answer when I was ready. It was almost midnight when I finally picked up. “Cherish.” Her voice was controlled, but I could hear the tension underneath it. “Hi, Mom.” “I’ve been trying to reach you all day.” “I know. I was busy.” A short silence. Then, “I received a message this morning. Anonymous. It said my daughter is involved with an older man. A professor at her university.” My stomach dropped so fast I felt lightheaded. I stood up and walked to the window, needing something to look at besides the dark room. “Who sent it?” “That isn’t the point. Is it true?” I didn’t answer right away.
