The tension in the room felt so palpable that one could cut it with a knife. Jake wouldn’t look at Adira as the blonde waited for his response, while Nate smirked beside him, his expression smug. He couldn’t wait for his friend to confess his sins and grant him the satisfaction of watching his world crumble. He knows how much Jake loves Adira, and it will kill the dark boy to lose her.
