"Seize her!” Damien’s voice boomed across the clearing, the command laced with a chilling fury that made my blood run cold. I froze, my heart leaping into my throat. Fear, raw and primal, gripped me, squeezing the air from my lungs. I knew what this meant. They had found me.

Rough hands grabbed my arms, their grip bruising. I was dragged forward, my feet barely touching the ground. The pack members surrounded me, their faces contorted with rage. The air crackled with their anger, their scent thick with accusation. They could smell him on me, the lycan. The evidence of my transgression was undeniable.

My gaze darted around, searching for an escape, a glimmer of hope. But there was none. I was surrounded, trapped. They were going to take me back. Back to the pack house, back to the judgment, back to the pain.

As they dragged me through the camp, I saw her. Maya. Her body lay in the center of the clearing, covered by a rough cloth. My breath hitched. Dead. She was dead. My legs went weak, and I nearly collapsed. Why? Why would she do that? Why would she risk her life for someone like me? Tears welled up in my eyes, hot and bitter. I hadn’t deserved her kindness, her sacrifice.

They shoved me into the torture room, a dark, damp chamber that reeked of blood and fear. The air was thick with the scent of iron, a grim reminder of the horrors that had been inflicted within these walls. I knew what awaited me. I had seen it happen to others. The pain, the humiliation, the slow, agonizing breaking of the spirit.

Elara entered, her eyes gleaming with malicious pleasure. She circled me like a vulture, her gaze lingering on the marks on my body, the telltale signs of my night with the lycan.

“You filthy whore,” she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. “You dared to defile our pack. You dared to sleep with another while your mate still lives.

” Her words were like daggers, piercing my heart. I didn’t respond. I couldn’t. I was too afraid, too broken.

Elara’s hand lashed out, striking me across the face. The force of the blow sent me reeling, my head hitting the cold stone wall. Pain exploded in my cheek, and I tasted blood.

“You think you’re so special, don’t you?” she sneered. “You think you’re better than us.

” She grabbed my hair, yanking my head back. “You’re nothing,” she spat. “You’re less than nothing. You’re a disgrace to this pack.

” Her attack continued, a relentless barrage of blows. I curled into myself, trying to protect my vulnerable body, but it was no use. Her rage was insatiable.

“Maya died because of you,” she hissed, her voice filled with hatred. “She tried to save you, but you’re too worthless to be saved.

” The words were like a physical blow, a punch to the gut that stole my breath. Maya died because of me? The guilt was crushing, a weight that threatened to suffocate me.

Elara’s attack finally stopped, leaving me bruised and bleeding on the floor. She looked down at me, her eyes filled with disgust.

“You’re lucky we don’t kill you,” she said, her voice cold and imperious. “But your life will be a living hell. You will be lower than the Omegas. You will be the pack’s slave.

” She turned and left, leaving me alone in the darkness. I lay there, broken, my body aching, my spirit crushed. I had lost everything. My title, my mate, my dignity, and now, even the faint hope of a future.

Days blurred into nights, each one filled with pain and humiliation. I was forced to perform the most menial tasks, enduring the scorn and cruelty of the pack members. I was less than human, a shadow of my former self.

The other Omegas shunned me, their faces filled with fear and resentment. They blamed me for Maya’s death, for the increased scrutiny from the Alpha. I was an outcast, alone in my misery.

One day, I was washing clothes by the river, my hands raw and bleeding. The other Omegas kept their distance, their eyes averted. I was used to it. I was used to being alone.

Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me, a powerful, commanding presence that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I “Where is she?” The growl ripped through the air, vibrating with an ancient fury that made the very stones of the pack house tremble. Kyran’s voice, usually a low, resonant hum, was now a weapon, honed and sharp. He stood at the edge of the riverbank, his cloak billowing around him like a storm cloud, his face a mask of barely contained rage. His eyes, usually a glacial blue, burned with a white-hot intensity.

Damien stood a few feet away, his face ashen, his eyes wide with a terror that was almost comical. He looked like a cornered animal, ready to bolt at any moment. He was the one Kyran had addressed.

“She’s… she’s inside,”Damien stammered, his voice cracking. He gestured weakly towards the pack house, his hand trembling.

Kyran’s gaze snapped to me, his eyes raking over my form, lingering on the bruises that marred my skin, the cuts that laced my hands. His jaw clenched, his expression darkening. The air around him crackled with power, a palpable force that made my breath catch in my throat. He saw. He saw the evidence of the abuse, the marks of my torment. And the sight of it fueled his rage.

He turned back to Damien, his eyes blazing. “Bring her to me,” he commanded, his voice a low, dangerous growl. It wasn't a request. It was an order, a decree issued by an Alpha whose power dwarfed Damien’s like a mountain overshadowing a molehill.

Damien swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing nervously. He opened his mouth to protest, to offer some pathetic excuse, but the words died in his throat. He knew better than to defy Kyran. He knew what Kyran was. He was an Ancient Blood, a lycan of a lineage so old, so powerful, that his very presence commanded respect, and fear.

Damien hesitated, his eyes darting between Kyran and me. He was caught between his fear of Kyran and his own bruised pride. To obey Kyran's command was to acknowledge his own weakness, his own failure to protect what was his. But to disobey… that was unthinkable.

Kyran’s gaze narrowed, his patience snapping. “Now,” he snarled, the single word laced with a primal threat that made Damien flinch as if he’d been struck.

Damien turned and walked towards me, his steps heavy, his shoulders slumped. He reached out a hand, as if to pull me from the river, but stopped short of touching me. His expression was a mixture of resentment, fear, and a flicker of something that looked like… shame.

“Get out of the water,” he said, his voice clipped, devoid of any warmth. He avoided my gaze, his eyes fixed on the ground. He couldn't even bring himself to look at the woman Kyran had come to claim.

I didn’t move. I was still reeling from the shock of Kyran’s arrival, still trying to comprehend why he was here. Why *him*, the Alpha of the Ancient Blood pack. Why *now*, when I was at my lowest, stripped of everything, even my dignity.

“I said, get out of the water!” Damien repeated, his voice rising in frustration. He reached out again, this time grabbing my arm and yanking me roughly from the river.

I stumbled, my legs weak and shaky. I was still wet, my clothes clinging to my skin, making me shiver. I looked at Damien, my eyes searching his. But he refused to meet my gaze. He couldn't, not when Kyran's eyes were burning into him, accusing him of his failure.

He dragged me towards Kyran, his grip on my arm tight, almost painful. I didn’t resist. I was too confused, too scared to do anything.

When we reached Kyran, Damien stepped back quickly, as if he couldn’t bear to be in the same space as him any longer. His face was pale and drawn, his posture stiff and awkward. He looked like a man expecting a blow, a man bracing for the inevitable.

Kyran looked at me, his eyes sweeping over my body, his gaze lingering on the bruises, the cuts, the marks of abuse. His expression was unreadable, but I could feel the waves of fury radiating from him, a palpable force that made the air around us vibrate. He saw what Damien had done. He saw what the pack had done. I could feel the rage radiating from him and within the blink of an eye, his hand was wrapped around Damien's neck, slamming him against the wall.

A collection of gasps filled the room.

"I will kill you." His tone was no longer his own as his grip tightened on Damien's neck. But nobody dared move an inch, nobody dared question his motive. I couldn't leave him to go through this...I couldn't. He was my ex mate even though he hadn't treated me so well...I still loved him.

I had no idea when my hand gripped Kyran's arm, my eyes still on the firmness of his grip.

"Stop... please." My eyes blurry, I looked up at his enraged expression. And it immediately softened.

"You can't..."

"Please...I'll do anything you want me to. Just let him go." I pleaded while Damien was already obviously on the verge of death. His eyes were still, on mine. As though they were telling me, "I'd burn the world down before I let anyone lay a finger on you again.'

Then he released him. Damien fell to the ground with a very rough cough escaping his lips. Kyran reached out a hand, his touch surprisingly gentle as he brushed a stray strand of hair from my face. His touch sent a shiver down my spine, awakening something deep within me, something primal, something that had been dormant for so long. It was a spark of recognition, a flicker of hope in the darkness.

“You’re coming with me,” he said, his voice low and resonant, filled with a possessive certainty that sent a thrill through me. It wasn't a question. It was a declaration. He was claiming me.

I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. I was too stunned, too overwhelmed by his presence, by the raw power that emanated from him, by the promise of protection that his presence implied.

Kyran turned and walked away, his movements fluid and graceful, radiating an aura of power and authority. I followed him, my feet moving as if of their own accord. Damien watched us go, his face a mask of pain, anger, and a dawning realization of what he had lost. He knew, with a chilling certainty, that he had made a terrible mistake. He had abused not just a woman, but the mate of a lycan whose wrath would be swift and terrible. And he knew, with a sinking heart, that he would pay for it.

  • FROM REJECTED MATE TO SUPREME LUNA   CHAPTER THREE: THE AGONY OF BONDS

The quarters of the Omega felt a sepulcher, air heavy and thick. I moved mechanically, my body a symphony of throbs and aches. Every step sent a shock of agony to my ribs, a reminder of the brutal beating that I had taken at the hands of Elara. My cheek hurt, a dull throb that was echoed in hollowness in my chest. I wished to lie on the thin mattress, to retreat in the oblivion of slumber, yet the day was not yet done. There was yet work to be done, drudgery that was the existence of an Omega.I emerged from the quarters of the Omega and into the dim corridor, a stabbing, searing agony erupting in my chest. It was a body blow, a punch to my heart that stole my wind. I gasped, my hand on my chest, my fingers digging into my rough tunic. The agony spread, spreading outwards, engulfing my entire body. I felt my heart was being torn in two, torn to shreds.I stumbled, my vision fading, walls of the corridor spinning around me. I knelt, my face in contact with cold stone floor. The agony w

  • FROM REJECTED MATE TO SUPREME LUNA   CHAPTER TWO: THE CRUELTY OF ELARA

The first strike was from behind, a quick, stinging slap that sent my head forward. I stumbled, my hands going up to rest on the rough wood of the table. Laughter erupted around me, a grinding of sound across my already frayed nerves.“Look at the Omega,” Elara's voice was dripping sweetness, a hard irony to the venom in her eyes. She circled around to stand in front of me, a hunter toying with her prey, her perfectly trimmed fingernails flashing in the dim of the Omega quarters. “So clumsy. Just like her mother.”The words hit me like a body blow, a kick in the guts that took my wind. My mother. They would be bold enough to speak of my mother, of the woman who had given everything to me, of the memory I held close to every point of my soul. My hands knotted up in fists, my fingernails biting deep into my palms. I would not give them the pleasure of seeing me react. I would not allow them to watch my hurt.“Leave her be, Elara,” a trembling voice called up in the corner. She was one o

  • FROM REJECTED MATE TO SUPREME LUNA   CHAPTER ONE: THE FALL OF LUNA.

The steam scalded my skin, a burning reminder of the scalding humiliation that surrounded me. I shook my hand, gathering up shards of broken china, shards of my life in it. I was Luna a moment ago. I was something less than dirt on their feet now. Omega. The lowest of the low. All for spilling a cup of tea.It was not my fault. Elara, Damien's mistress, had bumped my elbow, delicate china precariously perched on my forearm until it hit the floor. The scalded liquid sprayed, spattering a little on her, most of it scalding my hand. But Elara, a pro at melodramatics, had screamed, her arm hugged to her side as though it was in pieces. Damien, my husband, my Alpha, hadn't even looked my way. His eyes, always cold and distant, burned with a possessive fury that was all for me.“How dare you,” he'd boomed, his deep voice rumbling in the pack house. The air shook with his Alpha power, heavy over me, suffocating me. “You did it on purpose!”“I didn't,” I breathed, my words swallowed in the fa
