Lois bared her fangs at Sara, sharp and glistening as if she would sink them into her flesh. Sara’s smirk faltered, her glare curdling into unease. She stepped back, rattled by the ferocity in Lois’s eyes. Lois was no one she could trifle with.

“Lady Sara, you have been evicted from the department and dismissed for bullying, harassment, and tampering with the King’s convocation,” the captain’s voice thundered. The weight of his words chilled the workshop, silencing every breath.

Sara… sacked?

Her eyes bulged, her chest heaving in disbelief. “What do you mean I’m sacked?” she shrieked, the words tearing from her throat. “What did this wench tell you!? Lies! All of it!”

But the captain’s voice cut through her protests. “The janitor confessed. She reported that you tricked her into locking the storeroom while Lady Lois was inside, and that disruption ruined the procession of the event.”

The entire workshop gasped.

“And your two accomplices,” the captain continued coldly, “are evicted from the department and demoted to the lowest rank in the bureau.” He turned on his heel, walking away without sparing Sara another glance.

The silence left behind was deafening. Sara had bullied others for years and had never been warned—until now. Her arrogance had met its breaking point, and this was her downfall.

Lois stepped closer, her voice calm yet razor-sharp. “You are not on my level.” Her face was utterly blank, unshaken, as she walked past Sara, leaving behind whispers and widened eyes.

Sara collapsed to her knees, sobbing as the guards seized her arms. She had destroyed herself. The career that fed her—gone in a single breath.

When Lois reached the King’s guest house, the guards halted her. Her stomach twisted with nerves. She was about to see Alpha Karl again.

The man she had fled from for six years.

The man who had broken her.

The man who was still her mate.

Now she was here to paint him.

“Let her in. She is the King’s artist,” Wolfe ordered after being informed.

Lois stepped inside. The guest house itself was magnificent, a castle in its own right. Even though it was only a residence reserved for the Alpha King of Great Hale, it radiated majesty fit for an emperor.

She entered the lavish sitting room, quietly arranging her palette, tall chair, and board. Her hands busied themselves with preparation, though her mind was a storm. She waited.

Minutes bled into nearly an hour. Her pigments dried; she mixed again and again. And when Alpha Karl finally appeared, Lois froze.

His stride was commanding, every motion exuding dominance. He was devastatingly handsome—so much so that her chest clenched painfully. His presence made her heart thunder against her ribs. That mate scent still lingered, insidious, coaxing her to lean in, to kiss him, to surrender—

But no. He had rejected her once. He denied the bond. He would do so again.

“Welcome, Your Majesty,” Lois said formally, masking her turmoil behind a pleasant, almost expressionless face. She prayed he would not mention her sextuplets. She prayed he would not even acknowledge knowing her.

Karl circled her slowly, his eyes cold, unreadable. A predator sizing up prey.

What is he doing? Lois wondered, biting down her panic. She just wanted him seated so she could paint and leave.

But then, his gaze lingered. Too long. His eyes drank her in—her lashes that trembled against her cheeks, the golden warmth of her irises that seemed to pull him in despite himself, the sculpted curve of her nose that lent her beauty an elegance that unsettled him.

For the first time, Lois unnerved him. And that infuriated him.

He tore his eyes away, his loathing rushing back like venom. She was no goddess. She was filth. A manipulator. A woman he despised.

“So,” Karl’s voice slid low, dangerously smooth, “did you think about the deal?”

Lois’s heart flared in anger. His breath brushed her ear, sending an electric shiver racing down her spine. His scent—earthy, woody, intoxicating—mocked her self-control.

“Compose yourself, Lois. Don’t be pathetic,” she scolded inwardly, forcing herself upright.

“I am here to work, Your Majesty, not to discuss that matter. But if you insist, my conditions remain the same.” Her voice was stern, yet her lips quirked in a defiant smirk.

Karl exhaled, low and heavy, a sound that rumbled through her veins. Her throat tightened, her body betraying her. She wanted him to step back—yet craved him to stay close.

“I think you no longer have a say. I’ll do it my way,” Karl growled.

Her head snapped up. “What do you mean? What will you do? Kill me?”

His lips twisted in cruel amusement. “No. But you are mine, Lois. My slave. My property.”

Her breath caught. Memories clawed at her—the helpless, broken girl of six years ago, stripped of everything, forced into submission. And now, here he was, speaking the same words, with the same commanding finality.

“I admire your skill,” Karl said, eyes hard as steel. “But you are nothing more than a souvenir to me, gifted by the Alpha King of Bienville. Which means Bienville no longer shelters you. And the sextuplets…” his voice darkened, “…they are mine now.”

He tossed a sealed letter at her feet. The royal stamp glared up at her like a brand.

Lois’s face twisted. “No… this cannot be! I am not going with you to Hale. Leave us here!”

“You wish,” he sneered.

Before she could move, guards surged in. Cloth gagged her mouth, a blindfold smothered her sight, and her world went black.

Karl turned to Wolfe. “Were the sextuplets escorted safely?”

“Yes, Your Majesty,” Wolfe replied. “Your finest guards have already taken them back to Hale in secret. We will follow shortly.”

Karl let out a long breath.

“This is the wisest decision you’ve made, Majesty,” Wolfe assured.

Karl smirked. Yes. This was the only way.

He would make Lois suffer. He would strip her of freedom, of hope, of dignity—until she begged him. Until she wept for the right to see her children again.

That was the only way to tame her.

"All medications, meals, and drinks served to the royal sextuplets are strictly checked before consumption," Lois stated, her voice clear and ringing with conviction. "I would not dare feed them an unauthorized intake from an unknown or common source."A heavy silence descended upon the interrogation hall. All eyes were fixed on her—her steady gaze, her unshakeable confidence.Sandra managed a slight smirk of contempt. She was furious that Lois had slipped through her trap again; the failure was a burning itch she couldn't scratch. She just has to be pushed out of the palace, Sandra decided. Then I can decide what to do to her next."However, Your Majesty," Sandra began, her voice dripping with venom, "she is a sinner who has committed so many sins, and there was no trial, no punishment, or even a death sentence. Such a sinner is not worthy of being the royal sextuplets' governess. Is your judgment delayed, denied, or adjourned...""I said you should not talk about this again, Sandra!

“It's okay. You can talk,” Alpha Karl said, his voice measured but strained.Sandra took a deep, theatrical breath and began, her voice earnest.“Your Majesty, I have always been deeply concerned with the safety of the royal sextuplets. Even if I cannot have a child of my own, I feel it is my custom to watch over your children. And today, one of my maids who also works at the North Palace discovered something truly disturbing—something that could gravely hurt the sextuplets.”Sandra paused, carefully watching Alpha Karl. She was gratified when his head snapped up, his gaze fixing on her. She had his attention.Clearing her throat, she continued with practiced distress: “My maid found that Lois has been using an unprescribed drug from outside the palace for the sextuplets.”She stopped again, letting the words hang in the air. Alpha Karl's gaze was instantly bright, his jaw rigid, and his fists clenched into hard, white knots.“She gives them an unprescribed decoction? What is that dam

CHAPTER 35Back at the King's Library in the West Palace, the siblings were restlessly rummaging through books while waiting for Wolfe, who had promised to return quickly.“He said he'd be back in an hour. Why isn't he here yet?” Cahir griped, slamming a book shut.“Maybe we haven’t been here for a full hour yet,” Coen offered, trying to be optimistic.“We’ve been here for almost two hours,” Conall corrected, his voice tight with worry. “He’s probably busy with something important. What do we do about this?”“I... I don't know,” Conall replied, running a hand through his hair.Coen, ever the strategist, spoke up, “Why don't we try looking for him? Or maybe anyone who can take us back to the North Palace?”“Alright,” Conn agreed after a moment's consideration. “You and Cahir should go. The rest of us will wait here. But don’t go too far, and if you don’t find him fast, come straight back.”“Is that a good idea? What if they get lost in the palace?” Connan fretted.“Fine,” Connal interj

"You cannot break me, Karl!" Lois muffled, her mouth gagged with his broad palm and her hair dragged from behind like a horse's tail.Like he was going to rip it all off her scalp, she couldn't breathe properly. His cock was too huge, reaching a halt inside her vagina, beating a wall that was about to be broken. It was painful, it was steady, it was hot and oddly felt good.He softened his thrusting pace and leaned his hugely built chest on her back, nibbling on the back of her neck, so hard trailing his tongue through the cord that leads to her spine, through her ass down to her vagina. Her whole body is distributing electric shock, making her heart thud, all down to you. She could not deny she wasn't having butterflies in her stomach; she wants to grab him and hug his broad body tightly. Her lips were so hungry for his tongue; she wanted to kiss and lick his soft lips, she wanted to touch that beard badly and run her hands through his blonde hair. But she is a slave; she dares not d

Lois was escorted to the North Palace and brought to its grand library. Her heart was pounding as she opened the large golden doors and saw Jacinta seated and reading softly to the children. The sextuplets’ heads were bent forward as they listened. The moment they saw her, they rose immediately.Lois dropped to her knees, gathering them into her arms, her lips covering their faces with kisses. Her heart thundered in her chest, and her hands trembled. She began to sob.Jacinta understood her heartbreak and, for once, didn’t stop her. For the first time in three weeks, she allowed Lois a long and emotional reunion.“I’m so glad you’re here,” Jacinta said softly, her own voice shaking with emotion.Lois finally let go. Her eyes fell on the children’s outfits—beautiful, costly silk embroidered with the royal crest. Their hair had been styled into curls, their feet slipped into leather slippers, and their postures were upright.Conall reached for her face and touched her cheek gently. “Wh

Alpha Karl and his personal guard, Wolfe, arrived at one of the residences on the north side of the palace. The estate was vast and sophisticated, divided into quarters for royal families and another for the palace workers. This particular castle had only recently been remodeled—lavish, modern, and majestic. It had originally been built for Great Hale’s Royal Heir, but Alpha Karl had ordered that the sextuplets be brought here. Ten rooms had been prepared for them, spacious and gilded. The castle’s exterior gleamed under the pale light, walls carved from pure white stone, etched with delicate patterns and crowned with intricate decorations. The sight tugged at Karl’s chest, drawing out memories of Aloe—memories he both despised and cherished.Guards stood firmly at their posts outside, motionless as statues. Karl entered the castle, his heavy steps echoing against marble floors. The opulence that greeted him was fit for kings—chandeliers of crystal hanging high, their light scattering
