The phone rang only once before someone picked up.

“Miss?” A middle-aged man’s voice came from the other end, trembling with barely contained excitement. “Is that really you?”

“Yes, Mr. Grant. It’s me.” I stared into the darkness outside the window. My voice was perfectly calm, without so much as a ripple of emotion.

“Thank goodness! You finally called me!” Bryan Grant’s voice shook. “Ever since the previous head passed away, Issac and that woman have become more and more brazen at the company.

"Next week is your 20th birthday. Issac has already secretly prepared an ‘Inheritance Waiver Agreement.’ He even sent people to Clearwater Town to find you. He plans to use your old medical records to claim that you’re mentally unfit to forcibly strip you of your inheritance, then hand the entire company over to Josephine!”

“He wishes.” I let out a cold laugh.

He had been spending my money, and now, he wanted to cut me out of my own family? Did he really think I was still that six-year-old girl who could only hide in a corner and tremble?

“Mr. Grant, please notify the board of directors and the legal department.” A chilling glint flashed across my eyes. “I’m coming back to the capital. Tell the men Issact sent that I’ll go with them.”

“Miss, you’re going to…”

“I’m taking back Shaw Corporation,” I enunciated every word. “Also, I want a full investigation into every cent Issac has embezzled or used for bribery over the past few years. Gather all the evidence on Josephine’s cheating on the college entrance exam. Next Saturday will be her celebration banquet. I’ll be there myself.”

“Understood!” Bryan’s voice instantly became firm and resolute. “Shaw Corporation awaits the return of its rightful heiress!"

I hung up and turned back toward my adoptive parents, who were asleep in the hospital room.

The justice they denied them, I would reclaim with my own hands. For every drop of blood they had shed, I would make the entire Shaw family pay a thousand times over.
