22. Taking a trip to the monster's cave!

Hours passed and the thought of Max and his conversation still stayed fresh in my mind.
I was so scared that even the rippling sound of the passing winds made me jump every time the blew. I had my lunch in the room I was allotted, caught in fear. Though my heart was throbbing continuously in my head, I ate the good food the servant provided.
After Max left, the servants returned. They were dazed witnessing my teary face but minded their job without interfering in my business. Seemed like Max informed the servants to show me my room and feed me while he was gone. Because, the servants worked so monotonously as if they were already directed to do what they were doing.
I have never seen a room with so much furniture and so many hues I had never chosen, nor a room I love so much. It was plush and showed it was made with thousands of dollars yet it looked so dull and unpleasant.
