Chapter 0003

I wake up a bit disoriented but soon the fogginess clears and I realize today is the first day of the school year. Given that we opened school on a Wednesday and today is Thursday means that today I get to attend my final year classes.

Becca is already up, showered and ready to leave. I shower quickly so as to let Cassey take a shower too and by the time she is done I am also done with dressing so the only thing remaining is doing my makeup.

I usually don't do much of it, just a bit of concealer, mascara, lip gloss and I am ready to go. I've always put my hair in a bun with loose tendrils framing my face. And even though it has grown longer, now reaching my Lower back, the tradition hasn't changed so I put it in a messy bun. My hair is light brown with a bit of blond in it, which always looks like I got professionally done blonde highlights.

When I am done, I stare at myself in the mirror and realize that Suzie was right, I have put on weight but it's all in the right places.

I take my bag and books and wait for Cassey in the main room. Becca has already left but it doesn't take long for Cassey to finish up and then we are on our way to the cafeteria.

While we are walking she gives me a crash course of all that I have missed in the past one year. As we talk she mentions her class and we realized we have been assigned the same classroom and that just makes me alot happier and less panicky. Since we are a bit late we decide to just get coffee and then head for tower A since classes are almost starting. The school is divided into six buildings otherwise commonly known as towers, these include the administration block, teacher's tower, middle school tower, middle school library, highschool tower then finally highschool library.

Despite being in the same compound, everything between middle school and highschool is separated. They have their own dormitories,cafeteria, sports arena and swimming pool, so to simply put it, we don't mix and I kind of feel that that's really clever for the school to think and decide it that way, cause the things that go on the high school tower, dorms and cafeteria and even the library to mention a few places, isn't something I would want any child seeing unless they are at least fifteen. It gives them the idea to try some shit earlier than they should.

We reach our destination and go to our assigned class. The door to the classroom is wide open so Cassey just walks in but I am frozen and all I can think about is turning around and running away because my worst nightmare has come true.

Occupying the seats at the back are none other than the elites and as if the world is working extra hard against me today, Suzie and one of her clowns, Veronica, are also in this class. Scanning the room, the only allies I have are Cassey and Trevor who is currently chatting up the girl seated next to him. The bell rings which startles me out of my stupor but by then Cassey is already seated and the only seat available is the one in front of Liam.

I groan as I move my feet into the class and go straight to the damn seat, and settle without looking at the guy who can turn my blood into lava both from anger and arousal. When I think of yesterday night I feel like throwing myself out the window. I honestly don't know what the hell I was thinking in the first place. Thankfully before anything can happen the teacher arrives. The lesson passes in a blur and all I can think about is getting out of the room.

We usually have fifteen minutes break in between classes so the moment the lesson ends, I rush and leave the suffocating room.

I go to the washroom and freshen up, I need to get my bearings before I can even think of joining the next class. Once I feel I am calm enough I head back to class and take my seat again without sparing Liam a glance.

"Where did you rush off to in such a hurry?, it's like your ass was on fire" I turn towards Cassey who is looking at me curiously.

" I had to use the bathroom, that's all"

"Are you sure that's the reason why,?" Suzie's annoying voice chimes in, suggesting that I was probably upto no good.

" I didn't realize apart from being a hoe you're also a nosy bitch"

I stare at her dead in the eyes. The class is now quiet but I honestly don't care.

" Did you just call me a hoe?"

I can almost see fumes coming out of her nostrils as she stands, probably to look more intimidating.

" She also called you a nosy bitch" Veronica helpfully reminds her.

"Yap! I did.. I can actually supply you with a list of other names that mean the same thing if those two didn't penetrate your thick skull"

" You little bitch!" She rushes toward me about to slap me but before she can I stand up and push her away.

" Touch-me and I will scatter your insides throughout this whole classroom" my voice takes on a hard threatening tone that I never knew I had.

"I will rip out your black heart and feed it to you...don't test my patience"

I honestly don't know where the words keep coming from, it's like I have no filter or self preservation for that matter.

" Girl fight! Girl fight!"

I turn and look towards the source of the voice, only to find Adrian, one of the elites, rocking the biggest smile I have ever seen. Even after he is caught in the act of incitement he still doesn't stop smiling.

" If you don't stop it, I swear I will smack that grin right off your face" I tell him but instead of having the desired effect he smiles even wider.

" Oh love, right now you can do anything and I wouldn't mind, in fact it will just be a big turn on" he looks at me with those smoky eyes which would have had me weak at the knees if I wasn't attracted to someone else, who by the way is scary quiet right now.

" Is sex all you think about?" Xander says next to him.

" What else should I be thinking about? World Peace!?". Adrian scoffs

Xander and Adrian continue to banter, making me feel like this whole thing has just become too weird, especially the fact that Liam remained quiet the whole time.

I give Suzie a death glare right before I intentionally dismiss her and take my seat. I know I just made everything worse for myself but right now I am really not in the mood to care, it felt good standing up to her twice in a row and this makes me feel like giving myself a pat on the back.

When Suzie realizes that I am done with her she huffs and annoyingly stomps back to her seat. Soon the biology teacher arrives and the lessons begin. The lessons rushed by and soon it was time for lunch, something that I was grateful for since I was famished.

Cassey, Adrian and I walked to the cafeteria and when we reached there we sat at the same table we had the previous night and soon enough Becca and Kim joined us.

" I gotta say Evie, what you did with Suzie was just epic" Trevor says as we wait for our food to be served.

"Damn babes that was something" Cassey joins in.

" Could you guys please fill us in?" Comes Kim's voice.

" Yeah, stop leaving us high and dry" Becca eyes scream curiosity.

Trevor doesn't waste a minute filling them in.

" I am honestly not a violent person, but for some reason I couldn't just let her push me around anymore or make me feel inferior to her"

" You have to be careful though, remember she is Hale's girlfriend after all" Trevor reminds me a fact I wish I could forget.

" I know..he gave me a warning of his own yesterday"

" Seriously!! Why the hell am I hearing this now..when was this?" If looks could kill I would certainly be dead right now given the death stare Cassey is shooting at me right now.

" It happened yesterday..he was outside when I left the cafeteria"

" So what happened, what warning did he give you?" Becca curiously asks.

" Just to stay away from his precious girlfriend" I obviously wasn't going to give them all the details including how he pinned me against the wall and how at that very moment all I wanted was to rip his clothes and have him naked on top of me and in me.

"And what did you say, knowing you, you probably just bowed to his royal ass"

" Ouch Cassey, that hurt...but unlike what you think I didn't bow to him this time."

" Really? And you expect me to believe that"

"Yes sweetie, I actually told him to keep his bitch of a girlfriend away from me..I used those exact word" I proudly tell her.

" So why hasn't he retaliated? It's not like him especially given what went down today in class" Trevor's voice is thoughtful.

" I don't know, why do you think I ran out of class after the first lesson?.. I expected him to get back at me and when he didn't it just made me anxious and panicky" I take a breath then continue,

"but I know he is just taking his time..then he'll pounce when I least expect him to... like an apex predator."

" Speak of the devil..." Kim motions with her head.

We turn towards that direction to find Liam walking in followed by the rest of the elites. They take their usual table and the moment they do some of the popular girls including Suzie and her clowns are on them like vultures.

The moment she sits on his lap and starts kissing him I tear my gaze from their table and focus on the lipstick stain on Aiden's shirt just so I don't have to think about why I am currently feeling jealous.

Food arrives thankfully and I dig in. The first taste is pure ecstasy..since we didn't have breakfast it only means that I am really hungry but in all honesty I am always hungry, it's like I have a black whole in place of my stomach.

I concentrate on my food instead of the light chatter around the table and soon just like yesterday I am done before my friends. Instead of just sitting there and waiting for them to finish I opt to leave since I also need to get a text book from the library.

The moment I am out of the cafeteria I rush toward the high tower where our classes are located, to get my Library card. Just when I am almost to my locker someone grabs me and pulls me into an empty class. I swing my small fist at whoever it is when Liams firm voice freezes me.

" Don't even think about it"

He then locks the door which now means that I am stuck in the same room as him without a way out, unless I decide to jump out the window wich would be a stupid and foolish decision on my part.

" What the hell are you doing?"

He ignores my question and walks toward me menacingly which makes me start moving backwards. My steps are halted by the teacher's desk behind me, I am about to go around it but unfortunately he reaches me before I can do that then he proceeds to cage me so I have nowhere else to go.

" Didn't I tell you to stay the fuck away from Suzie? You never listen, do you?"

" And didn't I ask you to keep her away from me? I guess we are both deaf cause you didn't listen either."

I stare at him defiantly, I know I should probably keep my mouth shut given the predicament I am currently in but for some reason my mouth and brain won't cooperate. It's like they are on opposing sides today.

" You're testing my patience bunny and you won't love the outcome when I finally snap"

This time he uses the nickname he gave me since like I mentioned, my hair is always in a bun,, so bunny.

" Haven't you already done your worst? you've gotten your revenge so what more do you want? I was on the brink of death because of you, because of what you did...or do you want to finish what you started?"

All of a sudden I am just emotionally tired. Something passes in his eyes but before I can decipher what it means it's gone.

He stares at me for a while but doesn't say a thing he then just turns around and leaves, banging the door on his way out. I breathe a sigh of relief then walk out. I feel so drained that I just go towards my class instead of the library.

By the time I reach the classroom I feel like I have just run a cross country and to make things even more irritating Suzie is blocking the path to my seat. Veronica motions for her to look behind and when she does she folds her arms and seizes me up as if to suggest that I am beneath her.

I just give her a neutral expression. We have a stare down that feels like it's going on forever but I am not willing to back down.

" Are you two about to have another smack down, cause if you are you absolutely have my blessings."

Adrian comments out of nowhere. His comment also makes Suzie and I break our stare down. While she is distracted looking at Adrian, I walk past her and take my seat.

" Seriously, you aren't going to give me a show?, Cause the last one was damn hot, almost made me want to bend you over the desk and...ouch!!"

Adrian's runt is cut short when Seb hits him at the back of his head. He is about to open his mouth to probably say something inappropriate when he is cut short again.

"Would you shut up, you fucker" Asher's deep voice interrupts him.

" I am flattered you would think of bending me over the desk Adrian" Suzie says while giving him a seductive smile.

I don't get this girl, I honestly don't. How can you be so cheap like that. You have a boyfriend, a hot one at that but yet you still bask in the advances of one of his best friends.

" Fuck off Susan.. I wasn't talking about you, I meant Evelyn, my current crush"

Take that you bitch...then it hits me..hold up, he was talking about me?...wait what?? Did Adrain Corvas honestly just say that he thought of bending me over a desk.

I stare at him shocked and by the looks of it I am not the only one surprised by his declarations. Almost the entire class is present and shocked, Aiden and Cassey included..when did they even get here in the first place.

" You dip shit...do you have a fucking death wish" and that would be Xander.

Adrian just shrugs, leans back on his chair and grins. Just then Liam enters the class and for some reason the air suddenly fills with tension. I quickly turn and look to the front of the class just as the bell rings to signal the end of lunch break.

The afternoon lessons begin and soon it's evening. This whole day has been draining and weird to say the least, especially with Adrian's comment and I honestly can't wait to get it over and done with so I can go to sleep and hopefully wake up in an alternate universe.
