Gabriel’s POV

As I leaned back in my first-class seat, I loosened the top button of my shirt and exhaled slowly.

This felt like the longest business trip I’d taken in a while—not because of the actual time but because I hadn’t wanted to go in the first place. I had missed Clairessa the entire time. That alone was enough to drive me insane.

It was supposed to be a two-day trip, but I had managed to cut it short. The meeting had gone smoothly, the CEO had signed the contract, and everything was in place. I should have felt satisfied, but my mind wasn’t on the deal. It was on her.

We had barely spoken yesterday. I had seen her missed calls and messages checking up on me, but I’d been trapped in a deadlocked meeting, unable to step away. By the time I was free, it was already too late to call. Even now, my first instinct was to pick up my phone and hear her voice.

But I didn’t.

I wanted to surprise her.

All night, I had been thinking about my life. I was turning forty-five s

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 244: We're Leaving Now

Gabriel’s POV Adrian had called me downstairs for dinner. Nothing unusual. But the second I stepped into the dining room and saw the lit candles and the elaborate table setting, I stilled. What the hell is this? “Adrian,” I snapped, my eyes narrowing on the over-the-top floral centerpiece and the suspicious glint in his eyes. “What the hell is going on here?” He raised both hands as if I’d walked in mid-explosion. “Dad, calm down…” My fists clenched. “You knew about this?” He shrugged, avoiding my eyes. “She told me just before you came down.” Of course he did, and he didn’t do anything to stop it. He gestured toward Angelique, who stood smiling like a woman who thought this was all charming instead of deeply twisted. “Mom prepared all this,” he said. “It’s her way of apologizing. A gesture... to make amends.” Angelique. It had to be her. I let out a bitter laugh. “Make amends?” I scoffed. “For what exactly?” Angelique stepped closer, her hands clasped together in front o

Clairessa’s POVGabriel’s eyes narrowed. “What the fuck are you doing in Clairessa’s room?”Angelique blinked, unfazed. “I should be asking you, Gabriel. What are you doing in your son’s girlfriend’s room… while she’s dressed in nothing but a towel?”Gabriel’s fury ignited instantly. “You’ve got some goddamn nerve to question me in my own house.”“I didn’t mean to…” she began, hands lifting defensively.“You never mean to,” he cut in harshly. “But you always do, don’t you?”Angelique exhaled, trying to keep her tone calm. “Gabriel, I’m not here to cause trouble. I simply asked the help where Clairessa’s room was because I thought it might be nice for the two of us to have a little girl talk. That’s all.”“You have no right to ask about Clairessa’s room,” Gabriel barked. “And you sure as hell don’t get to try and speak with her. You don’t even know her.”“I…”“I don’t want to hear from you,” he growled. “You need to leave. Now. And do well to stay out of my way while you’re under my ro

Clairessa’s POV My hand flew to my chest. “You freaking scared me!” My knees nearly gave out, but his arms were already around me, holding me up. “I knocked twice,” he said, his voice calm. “You just didn’t hear me.” He handed me a towel, warm and fresh. I snatched it from him and clutched it tight against my body. “You shouldn’t be here,” I faked outrage, wrapping the towel around me tighter. His lips curved. “I can’t decide when you’re most beautiful,” he said, stepping closer, his gaze lazy and hot. “Is it when you’re asleep? When you’re mad at me… or when you’re swimming and kicking Adrian’s ass in the pool?” His eyes drifted slowly down my body. “Or is it when you’re moaning my name right before you come… or right now, stepping out of the shower like this?” He leaned in, nuzzling into my damp hair, breathing me in. “God… your hair smells like vanilla and honey,” he murmured. “Wet… soft…” His fingers found a droplet sliding down my neck, and he trailed it slowly, down o

  • Falling For My Ex's Dad   Chapter 241: Weekend Was Over

Clairessa’s POV The morning sun should’ve felt refreshing. Instead, it just reminded me that the weekend was over, and reality was about to hit hard. Our luggage was lined up along the marble walkway. Everyone was packed and ready to leave. Randolph stood proudly at the center of it all, arms stretched wide like a man who just conquered time itself. "Thank you all so much for coming," he said with a voice that carried across the courtyard. "It was a fantastic birthday. A damn fantastic one." Gabriel was the first to step forward. "Thank you, Randolph. You really pulled it off." Adrian clapped his hand firmly. "The food, the band, the people, you really did the most." I smiled as I walked up to him. "Thank you so much, Randolph. It was truly a fantastic birthday. I just pray you get many more years, more strength, and when you hit your next big milestone, we’ll all be right there celebrating with you again." Randolph laughed hard. "Oh, one hundred percent. No matter wher

Gabriel’s POVClairessa’s head tipped back slowly against my shoulder, lips parted, breath shallow. I felt the tremble in her body press into mine.“Gabriel…” she whispered. “Do you really mean that? Because if this ends… if you walk away again, I won’t survive it. I can’t go through what happened before. I can’t relive that.”Immediately, I turned her gently, forcing her to look at me.Her eyes were glassy, vulnerable as she searched mine.“I’m not walking away,” I assured her softly. “This is real. I’m real. And I will fight until my last breath to make sure you know that.”I drew her closer, my arm firm around her waist. Then I leaned in and kissed her—slow, certain, and full of everything I didn’t have the words to say.Her breath hitched.“Does that feel real to you?” I asked, brushing my lips against hers. She shook her head faintly. “I don’t know.”I kissed her again. Harder this time. Her hands tangled in my shirt, clutching and needing me.My mouth took hers, passionately dev

Gabriel’s POVAfter nearly an hour of searching, I finally spotted Clairessa on the far side of the garden with Lisa. She held a glass of champagne in one hand, her back partially turned as she spoke. Her other hand clutched her phone, screen lit, clearly active. But then she looked up and gave Lisa a polite nod, pretending to be engaged in the conversation. So she was ignoring my texts on purpose. Was she trying to avoid me?I needed to fix this. Now.Lisa gave her a gentle tap on the shoulder, murmured something, then stepped away to greet a couple walking past. This was my chance.I crossed the garden in long strides, ignoring every attempt at small talk. I didn’t stop until I was beside her.I leaned in, my voice low against her ear.“Why haven’t you been replying to my texts… when your phone is clearly in your hand?”She put her phone to the side and turned slowly.“I don’t know,” she said, voice slightly detached. “Maybe because your ex-wife showed up, and all the emotional chao
