Gabriel’s POV

The day had been long, one of those that stretched and twisted until you couldn’t tell where it began. I’d been on calls since morning, chasing down the server issue. We’d fixed it, paid what needed paying, brought in the right people, and for now, the problem was under control. Hopefully, no late-night meetings. No emergency flights. Just one peaceful evening with my sweet Clairessa, without work dragging me away again.

I unbuttoned the top of my shirt as I walked down the hall toward the bedroom.

The room was dim, curtains slightly drawn, the faint scent of her perfume lingering in the air. Clairessa was curled on the bed, fast asleep. Her hair spilled across the pillow in a loose wave of curls. The blanket had slipped halfway down.

I crossed to her, careful not to wake her, and brushed a kiss into her hair. She didn’t stir. I pulled the blanket over her, then sat on the edge of the mattress.

He can't because Adrian is a man child that has little to no drive to do anything for himself and build something for his future. He never really loved Clairissa, he loved that she checked all the boxes for the perfect wife. Gabriel deserves to be happy and he clearly appreciates who Clairissa is.

OMG!!!! Please can we at least have her tell him about the baby already and not drag it out? We already know the real drama is going to be when Adrian puts her on the spot and proposes to her at his party or when they drag out telling Adrian about their relationship.
