Gabriel’s POV

The phone sat on speaker in the middle of my desk while I paced across the office, back and forth, barely holding my temper in check.

“Jake, what’s the update?” I demanded. “What’s the status on the PR sweep? Who leaked the damn story?”

There was a pause on the other end. Then Jake’s voice came through, uneasy.

“I’m sorry, sir. We seem to have a problem.”

I stopped pacing for a second, circling back to the desk.

“What problem?” I asked flatly. “What situation are we dealing with now?”

Jake hesitated. “It’s harder than we thought. The story spread too fast. And the source... it looks like it was close to home. People are tearing this thing apart. It isn’t easy to take down when it’s coming from inside, not some random blogger.”

I started pacing again, faster this time.

“Close to home?” My voice sharpened. “Jake, don’t dance around it. Who the hell leaked the story?”

Clairessa’s POVThe leather of the SUV felt cool against my skin as Gabriel slid in beside me, shutting the door. The city lights spilled through the tinted glass, flashing across his face, catching the defined cut of his cheekbones, the heat burning hotter in his hands. His hand didn’t waste a second before finding mine, his thumb brushing over my knuckles before tugging me closer, the space between us collapsing until his thigh pressed firmly against mine. Then his palm drifted lower, brushing tenderly over my knee, his fingers trailing the line of bare skin revealed by the slit in my dress.“You know…” he began. He nudged the fabric aside until his touch grazed the softer skin of my inner thigh. The caress was tender and passionate at the same time.“These sexy, slender legs,” he murmured, his breath warm against my temple, “the same legs that wrapped around me, digging into my back while you screamed my name in ecstasy, belong to me. And only me. No one else gets to see this.”A t

Clairessa’s POV Gabriel’s frown deepened. “Out?” He stopped in front of me, eyes searching mine. I lifted my chin, deflecting. “I wasn’t expecting you home at this time.” “I was worried about you,” he admitted, leaning close enough that I caught the faint scent of his cologne. “I went to your office. They told me you left early... that you went to the hospital.” He paused, eyes narrowing as though he feared the worst. “I called your number. It was switched off.” Right. My phone. My hand brushed my pocket, where my phone still was. “Oh... yeah. I turned it off. Remember when you told me to stay off social media? It’s been easier just keeping it off.” His eyes blinked, like he partly believed me, partly didn’t. “I thought as much.” Then his brows creased again. “But the hospital, Clairessa. Are you okay? What happened?” The truth sat heavy on my tongue. Gabriel... we’re having a baby. The doctor said our baby is doing fine. But I pushed it back down. Not yet. I reached up inst

Clairessa’s POVI held the ultrasound paper to my chest, one hand resting protectively on my stomach as I walked down the hospital hallway.Relief spread through me, the doctor’s words still ringing in my ears, the baby is healthy, everything looks perfect.Thank God.For the first time in days, I let myself breathe. My baby was doing great. Our baby, I corrected silently. No matter how much I feared Gabriel’s reaction, this life didn’t just belong to me anymore. It was his too.And after hearing that strong heartbeat and watching the tiny form displayed across the screen, it felt more real than ever.I didn’t know how much longer I could keep this to myself, dragging it out, carrying this secret alone when every part of me wanted to run to him and share the news. But then the fear always pulled me back. The timing. Adrian felt betrayed. The drama swallowed us whole. I didn’t want to be selfish and drop this miracle in the middle of Gabriel’s fallout with his son because of me, even t

Gabriel’s POVI was seething. Every word out of his mouth intensified my anger. I wanted to wring the truth out of him, but before I could, Nicole slid herself right into the center of it all.“I don’t mean to intrude on your little family drama,” she began lightly, “but if this is about those headlines? About Clairessa?”She let out a delighted laugh.“I’d say it’s a good thing the world finally found out who she really is.”Her eyes pinned me. “Mr. Storm, you’re the only one left who needs to come to terms with it.”My blood burned, but I held my fury. She wasn’t worth it. This was between Adrian and me. Still, I caught the gleam in her eyes, she was enjoying this.Adrian turned to her, suspicion darkening his face. “Nicole… did you do this?”For a second, her smile faded. Then, a shrug. “Maybe. Someone had to. Baby, you can’t blame me. This was for your own good. You were too weak to defend yourself, so I stepped in. I saved you from humiliation. You should be thanking me for havin
