Annabel’s POV

I watched Daniel open the door as Stephanie walked through the doorway, her shoulders squared, chin lifted as though the house had been built just in her name.

Her gaze swept across the room, searching for something I couldn't place my head on.

Daniel stood in her way with his hands buried inside his pockets, obviously telling her that she wasn’t welcome, without a word.

“Dan, what’s wrong? Are you still fighting with me?” A smirk tugged at her lips as she took a few steps, closing the space between them.

She traced a lazy finger on Daniel’s chest. “I know you are mad at me, but I'm here to make everything right.” Her hand drew down to his waistline, sliding lower until it brushed against his length.

Daniel held her hand, making Stephanie recoil, but she did not stop.

She made another move by pressing her chest against Daniel’s and took his hand to grab her breast, and that was when I couldn't hold it anymore.

I came out from my hiding place, revealing

Daniel’s POV “Annabel, my world has been empty for a long time now. But every moment with you beside me feels like fulfillment.” My hands lifted to her face, cupping it tenderly, as if trying to hold every unspoken word between us. “Annie, I’m tired of living in fear. All my life, I thought that letting in a woman would only open wounds I struggle to forget. I was scared that maybe if I gave love a chance, the person might leave me. And what scares me most is that I might turn into a beast like my father and walk away, just like him.” Her thumb trembled against my hand, her lips quivering as if holding back a confession. “But now I know better,” I continued. “I want to love you the right way. Give me the opportunity to be the man behind your smiles. I vow I will never stumble where it matters most.” A single tear slid down from the corner of her eyelid, her lips curling into a warm smile. “Daniel…I don’t know what to say.” I leaned closer and kissed her hard, tasting the

Annabel’s POV I slowly stood up and walked towards Daniel, his body still tensed. I could feel his fury radiating from him. Every line of his face seemed carved from tension, his jaw clenched, hands restless. My fingers itched to reach him, to soothe what I knew ran deeper than anger. “Dan, it’s fine if you don’t want to talk about it.” My hands wandered across his back, just then I felt his muscles relax before he finally turned to me. “Annabel, it is just hard to say.” He crossed his hands over his waist. “I have never discussed my past with someone because it brings nothing but painful memories. I’ve spent my whole life battling the anxiety born from the trauma of knowing why I shouldn’t build a family.” “Daniel…” I whispered, my voice trembling slightly. He held my arms even before I completed my sentence. “Let’s sit.” He led me to the bed. The softness of the mattress a stark contrast to the heaviness in his eyes. Once we had settled, he drew in a rough breath. “My fathe

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 48:You Make Me Lose Control

Annabel’s POV We got back to the hotel, and the only thing I could think of was the little moment I spent with Daniel at the sea, his soft voice as he made his promises to me. And then there was this thing about how he looked at me that made me blush every time I remembered it. Daniel came out of the bathroom, dampening his hair. His towel was loosely tied around his waist, his bare chest still glistening with traces of water dripping from his skin. I couldn’t help but stare lustfully at him, no matter how hard I tried to look away. My cheeks flushed, my lips parted slightly, and my heart hammered against my ribs like it wanted to leap out toward him. He caught it. He saw the way I was looking at him, and before I knew it, Daniel was close to me. He gently sat beside me, then leaned closer. “Don’t look at me in that way.” His voice came out low, almost a whisper. My throat dried up, heat surging down my skin from his closeness. “Why not?” “Because you make me lose control, and

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 47: Until We Grow Grey

Annabel’s POV Daniel’s arm crossed at the side of my shoulders as we stepped out of the sleek black SUV. The air felt promising, the river glistening under the silver moonlight. “Here,” he said softly, stretching out his hand toward me. His palm was open, steady with an unspoken invitation I couldn’t resist. I glanced up at him. He was actually planning something, something I couldn’t quite place my head on. The yacht hummed gently as it cut through the water. Even with just the moonlight, I could see it. The yacht gleamed floating above, the kind I had never seen before. Boldly written on it was Dan Stroke, just like his private jet. My gaze shifted to Daniel. “You have a private yacht too?” I asked, my mouth half-open and my eyes wide. He smiled, his hands in his pockets as he proudly looked at the yacht. “Annabel, this is the least of my property.” What the hell! How rich is this man? It seems like every day is an adventure for me to find out how wealthy he is. He turned

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 46: The Journey To Surprise Her

Daniel’s POV “Tonight will be fun, we have arranged different women for each of you,” Maxwell’s voice rang out. “It’s such a pity that Cassian will not be participating. He’s tied himself to one woman, all in the name of engagement,” Ethan said, his voice carrying a hint of excitement. Everyone laughed, glasses clicking together. But I did not laugh. Nothing was funny to me. Not when my Annie is not beside me. I had used this trip as an excuse to spend quality time with her, and now I can’t even be with her. The loud voices from the men filled the air as they continued throwing funny jokes. My eyes wandered, hoping Annabel would appear, even if it was just a glimpse of her face. And just like an answered prayer, she appeared. Standing a short distance away, the evening breeze toyed with her hair while her creamy dress floated around her ankles, swaying with the wind’s playful touch. A knitted beach hat crowned her head, completing the vision that stole the air from

  • Falling For My Father’s Son   Chapter 45: Miami

Annabel’s POV I had always seen Miami on postcards, glossy and perfect, but standing here with Daniel beside me made it feel like something out of a dream. The hotel looked nothing like what I had ever seen. Even though the five-star hotel back in New York was close, you could still see the difference. The atmosphere here felt like a place people should escape to after months of hardship. The air was soothing, refreshing, and endlessly welcoming. “Single or couple‘s room?” the hotel receptionist asked. I remained still, my mind tangled in a puzzle of thoughts. Daniel, who should be in the best position to answer this, was lost in discussion with Cassian. We had bumped into Cassian a few hours after we arrived for the weekend launching of Maxwell’s hotel. I opened my mouth to answer the receptionist, but Daniel’s voice cut through from behind. “Couple.” My eyes flared. Did I just hear him say a couple? No matter how hard I try to pretend to resist Daniel, he never gives up
