“Meet me in my office. We need to talk. I need to make sure Sierra isn’t around first.”

Wade, Jackson and Roman nod, going to my office to wait for me. I call the others over for the meeting. I head upstairs, checking into Sierra’s room. I find her in bed, sound asleep. Hopefully, she will be out for a while. She can’t hear our conversation or plan. I quietly close the door behind me and return downstairs to my office, locking the door behind me. I sit at my desk.

“I want to know exactly who they are. Yes, we know the family they belong to, but I want names and addresses. We need to make sure we know as much as possible so we can be a step ahead.” I snarl and ball my fists in frustration.

“We will get the best we have on it.” Roman replies.

“Wade, did you notice if the two guys in the car were the same ones from the bar?”

“It was not the same men, sir.” He sighs.

That means they have multiple people following her. I don't know how they keep finding her. They must be young and

SierraThe last five hours have been the longest of my life! A car ride full of mostly silent unless we were bickering about pointless things. I swear, when we stopped to use the bathroom and to get food, I nearly ran away, but he never left me alone for long enough to do so. Even when I was in the restroom, he waited right outside. Who does that? I am not a child who needs to be supervised. Now, as we drive through the secluded woods, with not a person in sight, I shift nervously in my seat. Maybe coming here alone with him was a bad idea! What if he is behind it all? What if protecting me is a front? Why has it taken me until now to consider that? We are in the perfect place for him to keep me locked away or worse. Panic takes over me. A churning stir in my stomach, and my breathing becomes heavy.“Sierra, what the hell? What is wrong with you? Why has your behaviour shifted?” Ambrose asks, concern in his voice, pulling over the car.I turn to him. He looks confused. “How do I know

SierraI have tried to sleep with no luck. Every time I began to doze off, I kept having a horrible nightmare that someone was holding a gun to my head, dragging me away and tossing me into the back of a black van. After three attempts, I gave in. I have packed and unpacked four times to keep myself awake. It’s three in the morning and I am utterly exhausted. I need to be ready in a few hours. To stop from falling asleep, I decided to sit on the floor. I am sitting at the bottom of my bed, hugging my knees to my chest, trying to comfort myself. I haven’t stopped shaking since this morning. I hate feeling scared and vulnerable. There is one way which may help me calm down and sleep. It is a thing I would rather not go through with, but it is my last option. Hesitantly, I pull myself up from the floor. Exiting my room, heading towards Ambrose’s room. It confuses me that the man I can’t stand is also the one who makes me feel safe. I reach his bedroom, stopping at the door, questioning m

AmbroseI storm to my office, shaking with anger. Wade and Roman follow me, closing the door behind them. Turning, I punch the closest wall, putting a hole in it. “Fuck.” I hiss and ignore the throbbing.“What do you want us to do, Boss?” Roman asks.“I want the note checked for fingerprints and DNA. Hack into the CCTV as soon as possible. I need to know who dropped it off. Once I find out who is responsible, I will make them regret the day they were born.” I snap, watching the blood from my hand dripping onto the floor.“We will get straight on it. How is Sierra doing?” Wade asks.“Scared. I need one of you to call into her work and the college. Inform them that, due to personal reasons, she will be absent for at least the next week. Try to convince whoever you talk to to send over her work for her classes. I don’t want Sierra falling behind.” I sigh, running my fingers through my hair.“Do you want us to stay here for now?” Roman asks.I shake my head. “Sierra will be fine here with

SierraI arrive at the office, strolling over to my desk. I have a full shift today from eight to six, since I don’t have any classes. My personal bodyguards will be around outside the entire time. I wish Ambrose would let me be. I am safe here. I am glad to have a full day away from Ambrose.Settling at my desk, I notice a brown envelope with my name on it. Nothing more. Not even the office address or my surname. It must be for someone in the office. It is a little strange, but I brush it off and open it. The content seems to be only one sheet of paper. Slipping it out, I unfold it, something I regret after I see what was written on it. I freeze, fear flooding over me. My heart pounds in my chest, and I struggle to get the air into my lungs. He spilt blood. It is our turn now. Watch your back, Sierra. I gasp, covering my mouth and read it three more times. I quickly fold it back up before anyone else can see it. Who sent this? Someone must have dropped it off in person. I hide my sh

AmbroseI am out in the back yard, keeping a close eye on Kellin and Sierra’s session since they are doing it outside today. Sierra seems to be enjoying it a little too much. No one giggles that much, and no one person is that funny. She is pretending he is funny to show him that she is interested. It is pathetic and desperate. Kellin doesn’t seem to mind. I warned Sierra more than once. Do I need to warn Kellin, too? I will, without hesitation. They know I am here but aren’t paying any attention to me. I have had an odd glare here and there for Sierra, but nothing more than that.A notification on my cell from my front gate grabs my attention. I check it, seeing Wade’s car. He has the codes needed to get in the gate and my house. It still doesn’t make me move. I hear him enter the house, calling out for me.“In the back yard,” I answer. He comes strolling through, stepping outside. “What are you doing out here? You don’t like the morning sun.”I don’t answer with words. I nod in the

AmbroseI am in the kitchen with a coffee. Kellin will be here soon for Sierra’s first lesson. I was supposed to go out this morning because I had some things to attend to, but after their interaction yesterday, I changed my mind. They are attracted to one another, that was obvious, but I refuse to let them be alone. I am not paying Kellin a fortune to flirt with her. I am paying him to teach her to protect herself. If he even tries to make it more, I will fire his ass and get him blacklisted. Sierra does not need a man in her life, either, she has too much going on. Even if I see him touching her the wrong way, I won’t be held responsible for my actions.I hear Sierra coming downstairs. I thought she had overslept. I didn’t even check in on her this morning when I got up. She could have been awake for hours, but stayed in her room to avoid me. She saunters into the kitchen, and I nearly choke on my coffee when my eyes fall on her. A pair of cycling shorts, shorts one and a sports bra
