Chapter 3

Selena Pov

It was the Alpha's banquet, after Damien's rejection, I had gone to live with my uncle wishing my nemesis well in being the Luna to our pack. I was still the gamma of the pack but I was barely noticed rather I was considered a weak Omega. I could barely protect myself than protect the pack. My name has spread wide among the pack members courtesy of Calista.

I came with my uncle to Alpha king banquet, it was a party of the Alphas and royals. Walking into the lit party with low music. I took a glass of wine from the waiter. I prayed silently not to see my nemesis but then Damien approached me.

“Is all you can afford, a shabby dress” I rolled my eyes, of all things to pick on for me to take notice of him was my dress. I was clad in a brown dinner off shoulder dress with a slit by the side. It tightly hugged my body showing off my curves and the crazy thing about it was I didn't take breakfast to make sure my dress fit so perfectly.

“What now?” I tried to walk past Damien but he dragged me back roughly to face him.

“Don't lay your dirty hands on me, I'm not your mate anymore” I tried to push his grip off but his hand was so strong for me.

“You don't get it Selena, I was drunk last night and she was available”

“Oh, you are making an excuse for yourself. If you want her, go for her. Don't act like you want me but all your hidden intentions was to have me as your mistress”

“I needed someone who could keep me warm at night. You were never available, you were never in the mood” he pressed further and I was getting all irritated at his complaint.

“Is it hard for you to announce me as your mate to the pack members? You wanted me hidden behind the walls, probably turn me into your slut or bed warmer because you're ashamed of me.”

“Selena..”

“You made the right choice to choose her Alpha Damien” I twisted my tongue in disgust.

“I have needs Selena if you were available I don't have to sleep with someone else”

“There is no need for that, I wouldn't be good enough for you because you always look down on me” he tried to stop me but I purposely pressed my heels on his shoes, he screamed in pain.

“So what if he had, you are just nothing but a poor orphan” Callista my nemesis appeared from nowhere, I shut my eyes consumed by fury by her presence. She always shows up at the right time.

“You think you are a Luna material, you should be lucky to lick the boots of an Alpha. You aren't even worthy to stand in the presence of Alphas. Who even let you in here?” I grinded my teeth as anger raged through my nerves. Selena was getting on my last nerves. Isn't it enough she cheated with my mate and now she had the audacity to harass me in public. Did she sign a contract to always humiliate me?

“Does it matter now, you can have him. I don't mind and for the record I'm the gamma of moonrise pack” I tried to walk past her but she pushed me backwards.

“This party isn't for weak omegas, you should have your place as a waiter here” my blood ran hot, I wanted to bounce on her but I tried to control it. I wasn't shameless going to embarrass myself among other Alpha's of different packs in this banquet.

I swallowed hard taking all the insults and turning around towards another direction but she held me firmly on my wrist digging her fingers into my fresh.

“I'm not done with you bitch. You leave when I'm done. You dare not walk away from me”

“And if I do, what are you going to do about it? Hit me or punish me” She laughed at me like a maniac like I just said something funny.

“You are just an ant I can easily crush with my foot. You have been rejected three times and no one is going to want you” I forcefully released my grip from her hold, messaged my wrist, red lines could be vividly seen on my wrist but I wasn't going to show any sign of pain to her.

“So what if I was rejected?” I can't believe I'm still standing here interchanging words with Calista.

“It doesn't get more pathetic, doesn't it” I gasped. I guess she signed a signature not just to torment me but to humiliate me and make me look stupid In Front of everyone. It will be her life achievement to have me placed where she wanted me to be where she can easily treat me like trash.

“So what, if I'm pathetic. How does it bother you so much? "Her face crumbled and I turned to leave when she pushed me. I lost my balance and fell face down to the ground with a heavy thub, the glass on my hand shattered into pieces and most of the piece pierced through my skin.

“Argh” I groaned in pain, my eyes fell on a pair of shoes, he reached out his hand to lift me up.

My eyes locked with the most beautiful gray eyes I have ever seen. We locked eyes and it felt like the world faded away around us. His gaze was eating deep into my soul.

I could smell him, his musk and cedarwood smell like the smell of a forest after a rainfall.
