Chapter One

I stood in front of my locker taking out my English textbook when I heard my name being called on the intercom from the principal's office...

“Laura kindly come to the Dean’s office.” I heard loudly.

That was weird, the Dean never address anyone with their first name, it was always the last name. I walked through the hallways avoiding all staring eyes and gossip. The principal’s office was located at the end of the room, I stood in front of his door and let out a breath before I opened it. The Dean’s office was large and spacious, it was painted in milk and white floors, there was a wooden desk in the middle of the room with papers scattered all around it, two office chairs that faced the table, and one chair that was facing the two chairs, the room was highly air-conditioned, there was a small bookshelf that had different historical and educational book, a door by the left which I assumed was the bathroom.

“Mr. Mullins you wanted to see me,” I said while standing in the middle of the room, the principal’s chair was facing the other wall, so I couldn’t see his face. “Mr. Mullins,” I said again but no answer. I stood there for about a minute, I was about to leave when the chair turned. I was shocked at who I saw.

“Bastard, Rick what the fuck are you doing here,” I said almost shouting.

Hey, guys met Rick, my guy, my one and only, Rick is my best friend. An annoying bastard that cares about nothing but music. He is like the musician in school, Rick is of average height, he was fair, his dark hair was rough as always, he has a smile on his face that attracted girls, Rick wasn’t boy pretty, Rick didn’t even have a beautiful face but there was something about him that attracted people to him.

“surprise.” He said with a smile on his face. “I kind of like it in here, comfy chairs, the silence,” Rick said.

“You are going to get yourself expelled or suspended, what were you thinking barging into the principal’s office? And most importantly why did you call me here?”. I stood in front of Rick with a murderous face but he still had that stupid smile on his face.

“I wanted you to see me and I called you last night you didn’t pick.” He said while getting up from the seat.

“Lord! God so help me Rick if I don’t kill you right now, we need to get out before Mr. Mullins comes back and next thing when you want to barge in, let me know so I can teach you how to do it. Without getting caught.” I said while holding Rick's hand. Rick did t say a word when we walked out of the room, I made sure no one was looking at all. I dragged him outside to the garden when I bumped into someone.

“Hunter,” I said while looking up. Hunter is tall, well very tall. I looked like his little sister in front of him. He is like all these basket ballers without the ball or the basket just the height, he is tall, fair, he had that I don’t give a fuck aura around him, his lips were pink, he wasn’t body built but he was fit, he has a black messy hair that sometimes falls on his face, and that smile that gets the hearts of half of the girls in school.

“What are you guys doing back here? And why are holding Rick’s hand, Laura.” He asked in his sexy voice.

“Talk to your friend, he barged into the principal’s office, he could have gotten caught,” I said.

“Dude we spoke about this. If you want to barge in you don’t do it during daybreak you can get caught.” Hunter said.

“Exactly,” I said but Rick wasn’t paying attention, he ignored us and played with his phone. “Talk to your friend I have to make it to class,” I said to Hunter while walking away.

Hunter was Rick’s friend, when I became friends with Rick I met Hunter, Since I was always with Rick I became friends with Hunter, but I didn’t know much about Hunter, he didn’t talk much, and he was the usually quiet type. Hunter and I were not as close as Rick and I, we were just friends because of Rick. Hunter barely spoke much, he was the secretive one, and he kept his life very private. Hunter and Rick were not the only friends I had, I had my girls, Mia, Layla, Vicky, and Bella, and I was close to them.

When I first met Rick, I never thought I would ever like him, but with all the constant meetings, we became friends, and then maybe more than friends though. He called me every day I became used to it, we couldn’t live without meeting each other, the smiles, pet names. I almost thought I will date my best friend but with time all feelings ended from my side and I think it ended on his too because he reduced the calls, the meetings, and everything, I think it was better we just remain friends.

I rushed through the hallways and made it to class, I sat behind as always with my girls, I am not the goody good shoes, I am the bad girl of the school, but I was also the good girl. I loved life, explored life the way I wanted, and make terrible decisions that I regret later, I give zero shits about any bastard. I had zero beliefs in love and I was the heart breaker, I broke a boy’s heart not the other way round. I spoke with a lot of people but few are considered my friends, I had a huge fan base, and I was invited to all parties. I met Mia, Layla, and Vicky at a party. Mia was well the loud one, fucks everyone but has a good heart, Layla was the adviser, she has advice for everything, Vicky was the one that loved trouble, any things that happen Vicky’s name is first called and finally Bella, I met Bella in a café close to my house, Bella is the serious one. The book work, the school lover, the quiet one, then I don’t do that type. My thoughts were invaded when the teacher came in.

“Back to the earth Laura.” I heard Mia's voice making me come out of my thoughts.

“Come on focus, stop thinking about the little dangling thing,” Mia said with a smile on her face.

“Not everyone is like you baby girl,” I said with a laugh.

“Come on guys focus,” Bella said with her eyes fixed on the teacher. I let out a breath trying to focus on what he was saying. A few hours later the dumb class was done, I was the first to walk out because I needed to use the bathroom.

The bathroom near the classroom, I walked into the bathroom to inhale that disgusting bathroom smell, the bathroom was painted in white, white walls, there were sinks towards one end of the room, the sinks that a mirror placed right in front of them and a trash can by the left There were seven doors that led to the toilet. Once I was done with my business, I was washing my hands when I saw a girl. She had a smile on her face when she walked up to me, she was dark but a black beauty, her curly hair was beautiful and packed in a bun, she walked like a model, she dressed in a white turtle neck too with black jeans, black shoes, and a white bag.

“Hi,” she said to me with a smile on her face.

“Hello.”

“I’m new here, can you please show me around and help me with some notes.” She said while smiling.

“um. Sure, I’m Laura by the way.” I said while drying my hands.

“Nelly.

That name remains a scar in my life, I should have walked away the moment I met her, I should have ignored her, I still regret the day I met her, I still wish I didn’t meet her, The day she walked into my life was the day my life changed forever, she has a smile on her face, she wore a cloth that covered up her lies and hypocrisy, she seemed like an angel but a devil in disguise. She seemed cool but I should have known better. I wish I stayed away.
