KATHY

I was in the hospital room with Nana praying for her to wake up and regretting my actions. I should have stopped when she asked us to but I was too blinded by anger.

The doctor came into the office doing their regular thing but I was confused. They said they wouldn't commence treatment until all the bills had been paid.

Did they have a change of heart seeing that she was an older woman?

"Thank you so much for treating my grandmother, I'll balance up the bills as soon as I possibly can" I thanked with gratitude.

The doctor looked at me confused.

"All the bills has been paid for" he said.

What did he mean all the bills had been paid for?

"I don't understand"

I didn't pay the bill. Couldn't. Even with my salary I still couldn't save much because of Nana's constant medicine.

Iris didn't even care about Nana's health, I had to do everything myself. And after putting Nana in this state she ran away again. Like she always did.

I took out all my savings and my insurance covered part of it but not all.

"If it wasn't you then someone paid all the bills" the doctor confirmed.

"Who paid the bills?" I asked, still confused.

It couldn't have been Iris.

The doctor just shook his head.

I didn't have anyone who would have done that. Gabriella has been MIA for some days now, I haven't been able to reach her.

I only told one person about it. Then it clicked.

Viktor?

Could it have been him?

No. No. I didn't even tell him what the "problem" was yesterday. He couldn't have known.

But he's the only suspect I have in mind and the only way to find out is to find him.

Nana was still not awake yet so I left the hospital, went home and took a shower finally.

I felt better from the cold shower and knowing that Nana would be treated properly.

After getting dressed, I got into my car. Luckily for me I looked at the name of the building that morning when I ran out of it.

I needed to see Viktor and ask him if he sort the bills.

That's the only reason I needed to see him, nothing else.

I drove to the building but they wouldn't let me go up to the penthouse even after I showed them that I was with the police force.

So I went back to my car, ready to leave.

'Why did I even make such an impulsive decision to come to this building?'

'What were the odds that he was even going to be here when this wasn't his main house?'

Before I could lament further I saw him coming out of the building with two body guards, one of which I remembered.

They all wore black.

"Sheesh. Did somebody die?" I mumbled to myself.

I quickly jumped out of the car and headed straight for Viktor.

The two guards jumped in front of him, shielding him with both their guns pointing towards me.

I froze and put both hands in the air but he waved them off.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Looking for you" I responded almost immediately.

A few minutes later we were up at the penthouse. On our way up I flipped my middle fingers at the receptionist who told me I couldn't go up to the penthouse earlier.

"Did you pay my Nana's hospital bills?" I asked without hesitation.

"Yes" he replied directly.

He didn't even lie. Didn't bat an eye.

"You can't just..." I tried to defend but he cut me off.

"I already paid for it Katherine" he said smoothly.

"That's not how this works Viktor"

"Then how does it work Katherine?"

I took in a deep breath and calmed myself down. I should be thanking him not fighting him.

"Thank you" I said.

I was embarrassed but I wasn't allowed to feel embarrassed when it came to my Nana, so I swallowed my ego.

"You're welcome" he said surprisingly.

"I will pay you back every cent"

"I don't doubt that" he smirked, his eyes roaming over my body.

I folded my hands protectively.

"You have a vulgar mind Katherine" he suddenly said and my cheeks burned.

I knew they had turned red from embarrassment.

A flash of memory came to my head immediately.

His lips on mine.

His hands on my body.

How I begged him to fuck me.

Oh no!

Everything came rushing back in. All the memory of that night. And my head hurt.

"Ah" I winced bending down.

"Are you okay?" He asked but got no reply.

He carried me off the floor and placed me on the bed and walked out of the room. A minute later he walked back into the room with aspirin and a glass of water.

I took the medicine without fighting him.

My brain loved protecting me sometimes. It shoves away memories I wouldn't want to remember and the drug Iris had given me must have contributed to me completely forgetting about a few nights ago.

Me being back at the penthouse must have stired up these memories.

Viktor wasn't lying.

I asked for it and he gave it to me just the way I wanted it. The thought of that alone sent heat to my pussy.

After about 20 minutes the migraine had subsided and Viktor was still there, sitting on the couch watching me. He was Watching me the way a father would watch his daughter sleep.

I shrugged down whatever feelings was stiring up in my stomach and went straight to our previous conversation.

"How do you want me to pay you back? I could get a part time job" I said slowly.

"You will work for me" he said and my eyes widened.

"What do you mean?"

"My niece just recently came to America and her English isn't very good"

His niece. He must be talking about the little girl. Anya.

"I want you to be her tutor."

KATHY"Fuck" I cursed, nearly jumping out of my own skin. I gripped my chest, heart pounding. I thought I was dead or going to be killed. I quickly spun around to look at the person that nearly gave me a heart attack. It was a tiny person, a little girl. She stood in the doorway, clutching a teddy bear. Stitch, from Lilo and Stitch.Blonde hair, blue eyes. She stared back at me totally unimpressed.Like I just got here and I'm already snooping around, worse I got caught."What?" I asked. The little girl sighed dramatically. "Dyadya Vik ne lyubit, kogda lyudi zakhodyat v ego kabinet."I blinked. "I don't speak Russian" I said softly. Another dramatic sigh."Uncle Vik" she started, pointing at the room then putting a finger on her neck and dragging it to the other side. She was trying to tell me he would kill me if he found me in here.I slowly backed away from the shelf. She raised a brow. She probably learnt that that from her "Uncle Vik" "Spy" she suddenly said and I ran out

  • Falling For The Mafia   10: The job is yours

KATHYI should have been terrified.Instead I was excited. This was a blessing in disguise. It was the perfect way to infiltrate his home.It was easier this way. Maybe this made me a bad detective but I didn't have much of a choice. I was still a little bit scared because I was about to move into a Mafia boss's Mansion, that was probably filled with armed men that would probably kill me if they found out about me. He paid for Nana's medical bills and I couldn't say no to his offer, not while Nana was still recovering. So here I was, standing in front of a massive black gate. Viktor Svyatoslav's estate. My heart was beating a little too fast. Not because of him. Definitely not because of him. Because my undercover job seemed to be coming easier than I'd expected. The tutoring position solved multiple problems. I could earn more money. I would be close to my target. Gather information and be out of here as soon as I possibly could. That was simple. At least that's the plan.

  • Falling For The Mafia   8: The monthly reports

VIKTORMoney was a language. The only language I understand. Most people think that having power is most important but they're wrong. Money is the most important to have because with money comes power. And unlike people, money barely lied. Every dollar had a trail. You're looking for someone? Track their credit or debit cards. Go to gas stations where they probably used cash.It is so easy to find someone with their paper trail, except that someone was me. I sat behind my desk, scrolling through reports as the morning sunlight spilled into my office. Investments. Construction projects. Shipping routes. Hospitals. The hospital caught my attention immediately so I flipped through the reports again and again. The numbers were unusually low. Most people in my position would have ignored small problems like this but not me. A drop of water can make a river. A knock came in through the door before it opened.Romanov. "You have a meeting in an hour" he said briefly. I nodded the

KATHY"Katherine" Iris said, "you look tired" "Iris" I said keeping my voice flat, devoid of any emotions. "What are you doing here?" "I came to visit Nana. Is that suddenly a crime?" She asked sweetly, tilting her head. "Although judging by the state of you, I would say you're the one who's been up to something interesting" And the picture Daniel showed me that morning flashed in my head and it hit me.My stomach dropped.Iris had been the one who drugged me and took that photo of me and Viktor at the 11:11 club.I still didn't know where Nana was because she didn't come out at the sound of voices."I heard about your boyfriend... Daniel was it?" She said, a cunning smile appearing on her lips. "Such a shame though isn't it. Men can't just leave their dicks in their pants"I knew exactly what she was doing. But I wasn't going to let her get in my head, not today. "Although I heard you've already moved on so quickly" she continued, her smile widening. "And how would you know anyt

KATHY When the car came to a stop I looked out the window then froze. My house. My actual house? A chill ran down my spine immediately. How did he know where I and Nana lived? I looked at him and a small smile creeped up his lips. He knew what I was about to ask. I decided to brush it off with the other things about him that I didn't have the energy to examine yet. He finally let go off my waist as if telling me it was time to go. I awkwardly climbed out of the car and the moment I got out, the car pulled away. I looked around to make sure nobody was watching. Before going into the house. I tried hard not to think about everything that happened last night, not like I could remember much. But fact that I spent it at a Mafia boss's pent house. What the hell was I thinking? This wasn't how my life was supposed to be going... at all. I entered the house as quietly as I could so I wouldn't wake Nana, but unfortunately she was already awake. She was drinki

VIKTOR Most people bored me. Politicians. Business men. Criminals. They all bored me. They all wanted something. Money. Power. Revenge. The only difference was how honest they were about it. I was sitting in the bar exactly 11 minutes before she walked into the bar. She was trying not to lo
