Lily stood transfixed, staring at the towering building of M&B Construction Co. She did not want to return there, not wanting to encounter Kevin, but she was there for Mykel. Taking a deep breath, she started walking inside the building. She felt the stares of people around her, probably aware of her recent split with Kevin. She got into the elevator and this time headed straight to the floor where Mykel's office was located.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but we don't allow visitors without an appointment," the secretary told her. Lily felt as if all the pain from when she caught Kevin cheating on her resurfaced. She cleared her throat to adjust her voice.
"Can you tell him it's Lily Gray? He's expecting me to come," Lily said to the secretary. The secretary nodded and quickly went into the office. Soon after, the secretary got out with a smile.
"Please come in, ma'am," said the secretary.
"Thanks," Lily replied with a smile in return.
She entered the office and the first thing she noticed was how clean the surroundings were. Additionally, Mykel's distinct fragrance permeated the office. She saw Mykel, looking intently at her, which made her slightly nervous. His strong aura is making her uneasy. His stares send her shiver.
"Uh," she started, unsure of what to do next.
"Sit down," he said in a deep voice. Lily found his voice pleasing to the ear. That was her immediate thought, but she quickly dismissed it. Following his indication, she sat down in one of the chairs facing the desk.
"Uh... I'm sorry I haven't shown up until now. My Dad has been in the hospital," Lily explained to Mykel. Mykel did not respond but just observed her. He looked at her like she was the most interesting thing in the world and that fact made her uncomfortable.
"I have something to say," Lily began. Mykel crossed his arms, watching her intently.
"I would like to ask for a favor," she added, but Mykel remained silent.
"Uh... Can I make the payment in installments?" Lily asked nervously.
"I heard your Dad's firm is going bankrupt. Is that why you're asking for a favor now?" Mykel asked sternly. His eyes still bore around her entire face.
"Yes," Lily answered directly. Despite feeling embarrassed, she could not hide the truth that the company was facing bankruptcy. She wanted to save it but felt helpless because of her lack of practical experience related to business.
"I agree," Mykel replied without hesitation.
"Really? Thank you, Mr. Frost. I guess they were wrong about you," she said, bowing down to him. She was surprised by her own words. Mykel smirked and stood up, slowly walking until he stopped behind her.
"Why? What do they say about me?" he whispered from behind her, tickling Lily, causing her to jolt.
"Uh... Nothing," she denied.
"Kevin surely has a problem in decision-making," he said slowly, still behind her, his tone teasing.
"Why?" she asked, curious about what he was implying.
"How can she trade you with a whore?" he said softly, his voice teasing her.
This made Lily stand up. She felt the office was getting too hot, and she needed to leave if she did not want to lose control of the emotions she had been holding back for so long.
"I need to leave, Mr. Frost. Thank you and goodbye," she said, quickly making her way out without asking for his approval. Upon exiting, she immediately sighed and composed herself. She went straight to her car and headed home. As soon as she entered their living room, she saw her mother looking at files, spacing out.
"Mom, are you fine?" she asked, quickly approaching her mother. She hugged her tightly, knowing that her mother was still troubled by their situation.
After letting go, she awaited a response. Her mother remained silent, staring into space, so she looked at the file in her mother's hands. She took it and started browsing through it. Those were profiles of influential men in the industry, and to her surprise, Mykel Frost was among them. She glanced at her mother and waited for an explanation.
"What is this, Mom?" Lily asked nervously. Mrs. Gray gently caressed her face.
"They are the people who want to save the company," her mother said, bringing joy to Lily.
"Really, Mom?" Lily said with a smile, embracing her mother tightly. She let go again when she noticed her mother was not pleased.
“Why are you sad, Mom? You should be happy,” she said.
“Lily,” her mother said before tears welled up in her eyes.
“What's the matter?” Lily asked again, expressing concern for her mother.
“There’s a condition, honey,” Mrs. Gray said sadly.
“What is it, Mom?” She asked.
“They want to marry you.”
Lily's shoulders slumped at what she heard. She disliked the idea of a marriage of convenience, and so did her parents. Kevin was the first person that came to her mind, but then she realized that they were no longer together.
“But…” Lily tried to speak but stopped.
“I know, honey. We also do not like the idea. Don’t worry. It’s not going to happen, OK?” Her mom reassured her with a stroke on her hair.
“Give me these. I will think about it, Mom,” Lily said and got the files from her mother.
“But honey…” Mrs. Gray, worried, stopped her.
“Mom, I’m not saying yes yet. I said I’m going to think about it.”
Lily went to her room carrying the file. She told her mother to give her a day. She thought of all the possible reasons why she did not want to get married, but she could not think of any. The company was important to her father. He worked hard for it. Realizing everything, Lily quickly ran downstairs. She knocked on her mom’s room. It did not take long before her mother opened it.
"Yes, honey?" her mother replied, having just finished bathing.
"Let me date them first," Lily said.
As anticipation lingered in the air, she found herself meticulously preparing for the upcoming date. Time seemed to slow down, each passing moment carrying the weight of expectation. Choosing the perfect outfit, she looked at herself in the mirror. Glancing at the time on her cell phone, she realized that she only had forty-five minutes left. She hurriedly finished getting ready. The countdown added a subtle thrill to the air as she readied herself for the anticipated date. He exited the room and went straight to the garage, entering his car. He headed to their dating place. His first date was named Patrick Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez was the CEO of an architectural firm in their area.Lily arrived at the dating place ten minutes before the agreed-upon time. For the last time, she checked her reflection on her cell phone and quickly got out of the car. Upon entering the establishment, her date, Mr. Alvarez, was already there, so she greeted him promptly."Hi," she said and immediately gave h
Lily buried her face in the driving wheel and thought about the deal she entered into. Of all the people she had dated, she could not deny that Mykel Frost was her best choice to marry. Besides being undeniably good at business, she could even get revenge on Kevin. However, she still wondered if she made the right decision. It was just hard for her to figure it out.A few minutes later, she decided to go home, so she drove her car home. Just about seven meters away from their gate, she noticed the familiar car parked outside their house. It was Kevin's car. Kevin got out of his car and waited for her to get off. However, she did not get out of her car. She honked for the guards to open the gate while leaving Kevin on the side watching her. She waited for a few minutes, but the gate did not open. She blew her car horn again but, once more, she failed to call the attention of their guards.Stomping her feet in irritation, she got out of the car and went straight to the gate. She quickly
While in the car, Lily told her mother everything she and Mykel had agreed upon. She also shared her reasons why she agreed to the wedding with Mykel.“Are you sure about your decision, honey? It’s not gonna be easy,” Mrs. Gray said while driving the car to the hospital. Mrs. Gray had been bothered by her decision to marry Mykel.“I am sure about this, Mom. There are no feelings invested anyway. I am pretty sure I am not going to get hurt,” Lily explained. That was what Lily also considered. If he ever cheated on her, she was not gonna get hurt like she was with Kevin. “You are not sure you are not going to fall in love with him, honey,” Mrs. Gray said as she beeped at the car in front of them.“I am gonna be fine, Mom. Don’t worry, OK?” Lily assured her mother and the latter nodded.“Can we keep this a secret until your Dad gets out of the hospital?” Her mom asked.“Yes, Mom.” She agreed. For sure, his father would get shocked and sad, which was not good for his heart. They could no
When he was satisfied, he moved his kisses around Lily’s stomach and below it. In a swift, gentle motion, Mykel removed her lingerie, exposing her down there. He pushed her legs wide open which surprised her. He immediately leaned forward to lick it, but Lily moved to stop him because she was ashamed.“No…” Lily uttered softly. Her hands signaled him to stop.Mykel stopped midway to look at her, but without a word, he continued to lick it.“Ahh…” Lily moaned once again as she bent her back forward in delight.“Do you really want me to stop?” Mykel asked as he continued to lick it.“Yes. Stop, Mykel,” she struggled to say. Lily was trying to keep herself sane. She badly wanted to stop it, but she was failing.“Really?” He softly asked once again and licked it.“Ahh…” Lily whimpered in discontent. Without answering, she gripped Mykel’s hair. Mykel shivered in excitement as he kissed it deeper. In a moment, he looked up at her, and with his eyes burning with desire, he spoke in a deep, s
After eating breakfast, Lily went off to school to attend her graduation pictorial. As soon as she stepped out of her car, she noticed the stares of the students at her. Those stares and their talking with a low voice meant something. There must be some news spreading about her. She was startled when she felt someone grab her right arm and started walking at the same pace as hers as their arms locked.“Holy cow, Alli!” She shouted in shock. On the other hand, Lily was smiling widely at her and gave meaningful looks.“You have a lot to tell me, future Mrs. Frost,” Alli said, surprising Lily. Her eyes grew wide as she heard those words."Shh, Alli. How did you know?” She tried to stop her, but she was somehow curious how Allison knew. “Everyone knows, Lily. You cannot hide it anymore,” Allison explained while looking at other students around them who were still glancing over Lily.“What do you mean? How?” She curiously asked.“Your ex-boyfriend posted,” Alli explained. “What? What di
He leaned closer to reach her ears and whispered, “What thing do you want us to do?”Lily felt all the blood rise to her face. The young lady turned as red as a tomato. Suddenly, Mykel took her hand and lifted it.“We will choose a wedding ring…and do gown fitting,” he said and let go of her hand."Let's go," he said, then turned and started walking away. Once Lily recovered, she quickly followed suit. They easily reached the parking lot. Lily went straight to her car, but before she could get in, Mykel called out to her. “Hop in my car. I called your driver to fetch your car.” Lily simply nodded. It is more convenient indeed if they will be together in one car. Lily went straight to the passenger seat and hopped in. In the back of her mind, Lily called Mykel an ungentle man for not opening the door for her. As soon as Lily got inside the car, Mykel immediately accelerated. According to Mykel, they are headed to the company that will be organizing their wedding. It was not far from s
Fortunately, Kim arrived promptly and presented them with a selection of rings. Lily's eyes sparkled at the sight of the meticulously crafted ring with intricate filigree details. Her heart fluttered as she beheld the large, flawless diamond chosen to be the centerpiece of her ring."This is it," she declared, conveying certainty in her choice. "Perfect," Kim exclaimed, pleased with the ring she chose. After they settled on their selections, they promptly left. Walking out together, they reached their vehicle in no time. While in the car, Lily's phone rang. Mykel glanced at her as she looked at her cell phone. "It's Mom," she said. She couldn't understand why she was explaining herself, so she felt a slight annoyance with herself."Answer it," Mykel suggested, and she promptly followed his advice."Lily," her mother's voice greeted. Lily felt a sense of unease in her mother's tone; it seemed like she was crying."Yes, Mom?" Lily asked, her heart pounding loudly
Mykel continued walking towards Lily. He stopped beside her and offered the shelter of his umbrella."Your father won't come back, no matter how much you cry," Mykel uttered, words that pierced Lily's ears. Lily stood up, facing him. Without a word, she slapped him. Mykel took a step back, momentarily caught off guard, getting a bit of rain on him. However, he quickly recovered and leaned in again."What was that for?" Mykel asked her, puzzled."That was for being insensitive," Lily replied, rolling her eyes at Mykel. She sat down again, shedding tears beside her father's tomb."Get up!" Mykel demanded in a deep voice. Lily flinched and quickly stood up."If you want to leave, leave. I am not your responsibility," Lily said, pushing Mykel, but he stood firm. Instead, without a word, he grabbed her arm, pulled her, and embraced her."I'm sorry for being insensitive. I just want you to be stronger because this is the start of our fight," Mykel said, disrupting Lily's emotions. However,
