Chapter 66- Margaret

Vera's POV

My heart and soul were so exhausted, and it seemed like all my energy were consumed after what happened in the arraignment hearing. I'm now at my room, lying down on the soft mattress.

Everything that happened earlier in the court kept flashing back in my mind. The burning rage that I saw in Royce's eyes was still clear in my vision, as well as how his parents looked at me badly.

I could feel the sticky liquid that started to brim at the corner of my eyes. I really could not help it because it's so hurting and no amount of words could ever define the pain that I'm feeling right now. I gently rubbed my tummy, because as of this moment, only this little angel I'm carrying inside my womb, is the only source of my strength.

I was in the midst of deep thought when my phone rang. It was my best friend Alexa. I haven't told her what happened and I'm sure once she knows everything, she would become more worried of me.
