LOGINA small cabin came into view after the wolf ran for a while. It took me almost a full minute to realise it was Damien. He was just so big compared to the last time I'd seen him shift.
My white shirt was soaked, turning transparent, and my black dress pants weren't much better. I'd run for almost twenty minutes before it dawned on me that my snow globe was still back there. It felt stupid, risking my safety for something so small. But that was the one reminder from my old pack left. We arrived at the cabin, its wooden walls glossy from the rain. The wolf set me down, pushing me inside before shutting the door with its nose. Damien couldn't fucking leave me here. Without the rain and the external cold, my body felt frozen. My arms snaked around my torso as I took in the single-bedroom cabin, looking for something to warm up with. It was pretty spacious, and whoever owned it likely came here often. There was a stove and counter in one corner, right in front of a shut window. Then a grey rug on the floor and three ceiling lights. Two doors were fixed in the wall next to the queen-sized bed, probably leading to a toilet and closet. I took off my shoes, stalking towards the bed to pick up a discarded towel. Just as my hand gripped it, the metal door was pushed open. Damien stepped in, naked as the day he was born. My face flushed, but he simply stepped in, pulling off a towel from a wooden rack next to the door. "You're cold." His eyes roamed my trembling body, and he draped the towel over his neck, shutting the door with one foot and walking towards me. I stepped back instinctively, moving away from him till he was basically chasing me. "Calm the fuck down before you hurt yourself." He picked up the grey duvet blanket and wrapped it around my shoulders, setting me on the bed gently. "You should change your clothes." He moved towards the brown door on the left, pulling it open to reveal a walk-in closet filled with black clothes. A walk-in closet in the middle of nowhere, there really wasn't anything that could surprise me anymore. "Are you allergic to colours?" My eyebrows shot up, staring at the monochrome of clothes and shoes. "Good to know the storm didn't freeze your sense of humour." He said dryly, handing me an oversized shirt and trousers. "You should have just listened to me and stayed." "What is this place?" My eyes roamed the room again, teeth still clattering. "Just a place I come to every now and then." He pulled on a shirt similar to the one in my hands, covering his perfect six-pack abs. His dick swung between his legs, already so huge even though he wasn't hard. Turns out, dick length was another thing Lucien and Damien had as differences. If that thing between his legs had been Lucien, he would have ripped me apart a long time ago in a drunken rage. He raised an eyebrow when he followed my gaze, smirking cockily. "Shut up." "I didn't even say anything." He pulled the trousers over it. "Like what you see?" "In your fucking dreams." The silence carried into an awkward moment, only disturbed by the rain crashing down outside. "You're not going to put those on?" He brushed a wet strand of black hair from his eyes, using the towel to dry it out. "Well, I can't do that with you watching." "You watched me just fine." He walked towards the bed, crashing into it next to me and shutting his eyes. "I'm not watching. You can use the closet if you want. I don't care." Cold bastard. It was a relief to get those clothes off, and pulling on his big warm ones brought a sense of comfort that had been foreign since Lucien made me his. I had to tie the band of the trousers into little knots to fit me. When I came out of the closet, he was already sound asleep. The bed creaked when my weight settled next to him, stiff and cautious. Sleeping with another Alpha the day my mate rejected me felt like a new pathetic low, even for me. Still, Lucien didn't deserve anything from me. The fatigue took over and my eyes drooped shut, falling into an uneasy sleep. I woke to the sounds of twittering birds and the sun peeking through all the windows. "Damien?" My throat felt hoarse. Before his name left my lips, I already knew he wasn't there. My fingers still reached out, grazing his side of the bed, unlaid and empty. Grunting, my body fought against my will to stand, barely keeping balance. I stalked towards the makeshift kitchen. The grey marble mosaic counters had cabinets beneath them and a small mini fridge. There were a few boxes of cereal and some pots. The fridge had bottles of water, fruits, and a bottle of whiskey. I ate an apple and a few bananas. My stomach was too unsettled to take anything else, not after everything that happened yesterday. He hadn't left a note or any instructions for me. Had he intended for me to spend the night and leave? If that was the case, then he'd be upset if he still found me here. Especially if he brought an omega girl here to screw. Casual, uninterrupted sex felt like the only reason he would have a place like this to begin with. Frustrated, I went back to the fridge, pulling out the bottle of whiskey. It was a stupid thing to do, but after all the decisions I'd made these past few years, what was another shitty one among the others? The harsh liquid clogged my throat, the bitter taste numbing the multitude of thoughts in my head. I took another sip, and then another. Till half the bottle was gone and my mind went silent."I'll take my chances with another pack." His eyes glistened with tears he was too stubborn to shed. "I want nothing to do with you or anyone else from Lakemoon."By now, his resolve to leave should have broken. He had nearly died after spending a few hours alone in the forest, yet here he was."Kai, don't do this. The things Lucien did to you were inhumane and unforgivable. Don't let him continue to dictate your choices even when he's not here. You deserve to be free."His eyes hardened, lips still quivering. The sky rumbled, not a storm like last night, but it would rain. The last thing I wanted was to get caught in it on the run back."Free? You think I can be free by staying here? After everything this fucked up pack has done to me? You promised to take me if I wanted to leave." He stomped his foot on the ground like a child.Considering the size difference between us, it was an easy mistake."I don't want you to make a choice you might end up regretting later so impulsively. Thin
My head pounded, dragging me back to consciousness. My body snuggled deeper into the bed, softer than the one in the cabin. I didn't remember falling asleep on anything this soft, my last memory was the floor. The bed shifted beneath me, and my eyes snapped open. What the fuck?My gaze landed on the soft fur my fingers had wrapped into, and the sleeping wolf it belonged to.For a second, I thought it was just the hangover messing with me, until Damien opened his eyes and those grey ones bored into mine."When did you get here?" My breath smelled awful, even to me. The whiskey felt choking.I rolled off him, landing in a heap on the floor and then heading to the bathroom. He shifted back to his human form, bones crunching and shrinking."Where are you going?" His rough, husky voice filled my ears like honey."To brush my teeth, and maybe flush my head down a toilet." My headache was elevating quickly into a migraine."Let me put something on. You must be starving. There should be pills

Lucien stormed off, irritated at me defending his former omega. I followed Kai’s scent toward the pack gates, spotting three Alphas gathered around something."Have any of you seen Kai?" He'd always related well with pack members, visiting them constantly despite his position. They turned upon hearing my voice, trying to hide whatever had held their attention behind their bodies. They all had the same dark hair and darker eyes, likely brothers."Alpha Damien, good day," one said, his black eyes glancing behind him nervously."Alpha, has that omega caused trouble before leaving? If he has, we'll make sure to catch him and bring him back to you," another one said. He seemed unusually eager at the thought of attacking Kai."Have you seen him or not?"They cowered at the harshness of my tone, which had slipped into an alpha-like voice. The one on the edge shifted, giving me enough room to spot the item behind them. The familiar tiger print caught my eyes. They stepped aside when a growl s
The suitcase slowed me down quite a bit, but I still managed to make it to the end of the ivory halls, rushing to freedom. The door slammed shut behind me, Damien's steps clicking against the cream tiles. They faded off, and a glance back told me he hadn't followed. The relief was short-lived, though, when my body went crashing face-first into a hard, well-built chest.I glared up at the Alpha towering over me, nearly shrinking back when my eyes locked with a face identical to the one I'd just left behind.Lucien cleared his throat, staring at my bag and faking nonchalance. "You're leaving now?""Yep. No need to waste your time. I'm sure you're very busy looking for a mate."His eyebrows dipped into a frown, shocked by the calm in my tone. "Of course. But my father gave you till dawn. You can spend the night in the guest chambers."He really thought he could convince me to remain his bitch. "I have no reason to remain here. Regardless of when I leave, I still have to leave.""You aren
"I, Alpha Mattias of the Lakemoon pack, reject you, Kai Davenson, as my mate." The pain of rejection didn't hurt nearly as much as the things Lucien had done to me before today. In spite of the waves of torment washing over me, my lips curved up into a small smile. "I, Kai Davenson, accept your rejection and revoke my place as candidate for future Luna and as a member of this pack." Despite my struggle to speak, my voice remained steady and calm. I raised my eyes to Lucien’s narrowed ones. He looked displeased, clearly expecting me to break down and beg him like always. Not today. Though he was still looking down on me from his place next to his father's throne in his all-black attire, in that moment we were equals. His parents stared at us approvingly, probably already making plans for Lucien to find a new mate. A better mate. One who wasn't a man and wasn't an omega at that. My eyes locked with Damien's, standing beside my former mate. For the first time, Lucien’s brother didn
