There wasn’t anything more hectic than walking in heels across a pavement. She had expected little or no rainfall since it was November but the rain had fallen endlessly.

She scratched her back nervously as she walked into the burger palace. Mark had asked that she meet up with him for lunch.

At first, she was thrilled at the prospect of having lunch with her boss. Over the past few days, she had had a couple of meetings with members of the project department. They were pleased to have her and they proposed the total amount of money and resources they were going to need.

“I’m sorry you got in the rain” Mark frowned as he helped her place her umbrella in a basket.

“It’s fine” she smiled wryly as she followed him to the table he reserved

She wasn’t nervous, maybe a little bit tense but she was confident in what she had to say. It was a great way to get her mind off the chaos going on.

“I didn’t realize you were a fan of tea,” she said, trying to make small talk.
