ELENA

Apparently, there was a door in the tall white walls I’d just breezed past.

And that was where she had come out of.

She stood there, glaring at me like I was an odd, out-of-place object in the room.

“Where do you think you’re headed?” She demanded, crossing her arms.

“I’m here to see Atlas,” I replied, a little tempted to add ‘obviously’…

“Well,” she flipped her hair backwards and started towards me, “you can’t see him without an appointment, so you should leave.”

“Well who says we don’t have an appointment scheduled already?” I retorted, and to my surprise, she walked up to me and tried to grab my arm.

But I stepped back before she could, flabbergasted. “Excuse me? What is this? I’m here to see Atlas.”

“Well like I said earlier, Ms. Carlson, come back when you have an appointment. For now, you should leave before I call the security on—“

Just then, the telephone at her desk rang out shrilly, and glaring at me one last time, she cat-walked over to her desk and grabbed it off the

ATLASMy jaw twitched as I watched the shock on the blonde-haired, green-eyed beauty’s face grow wild, her eyes now sparkling with curiosity. My mind torn between revealing all the dirty secrets the Grants had hidden away from her, and just keeping my lips sealed.Tarnishing Braden’s image wasn’t on my list of things to do, else I’d have shown Elena that he wasn’t truly the saint he’d claimed to be while he was alive. But instead, I was worried about how she would react when the truth is eventually revealed to her. Because it was an inevitable reality that loomed closer.Sooner or later, even if I didn’t tell her, she was going to find out what the Grants are up to. Things she had been blind to.And she would be shocked, if not traumatized, by what she’d find. It was depending on her ability to handle pretty weighty information. She had known a different Braden Grant, although he hadn’t been all that bad.I let out a deep sigh, my mind traveling to the conversation that I’d had with B

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   TO IMPRESS

ELENAI sighed for the thousandth time in less than five minutes, running a hand through my hair.Emily chuckled as she watched from where she lay sprawled on the bed, clicking her tongue.“Oh, Elena freaking Carlson,” she whined as I dug through a wardrobe of clothes, tossing a few behind me, “getting all agitated about a freaking dress you’d wear to work.” She shook her head, her lips quirking up in a snide smile. “And you say you’re not in love with this man. This…Atlas.”“Love?!” I panned out in a sharp tone, my brows shooting up. “Love? Oh please, don’t be ridiculous, Emily. I don’t even like that man, to start with—““Yet you’re doing this?” She interrupted in an amused tone, gesturing round the littered room.“I’m just trying to look nice on my first day at work!” I argued, throwing my hands in the air. “For goodness’ sake, Em. Let me focus.”“Fine,” she conceded, lifting her palms in surrender, her lips pressed together as she struggled to hold in a laugh.I rolled my eyes and

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   SHADE

ATLASMy voice rang out cold and dark in the room, and I started towards him, unhooking my wrist watch and rolling up my sleeves.“It’s great to see you again. Although you don’t look so…great?”Cory Adams trembled violently as he heard my voice, angling his head to the side, away from the sunlight to get a glimpse of my face. He froze in shock when his eyes landed on my face, his jaw hanging open.“S-Shade?”Shade. That was my alias.I scoffed, stopping a few feet away from where he trembled. “You don’t look so happy to see me, Cory. Why’s that?”“I-It’s just, I-I—““Take a deep breath, Adams,” I interrupted again, smirking. “Deep breath. Now, start over.”He swallowed hard, his eyes reflecting the fear Keelan and the others couldn’t bring out of him.“I-I don’t—I’m sorry, Shade!” He diverted in a burst, his pupils dilated with fear as he stared up at me. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m sorry! Please, spare me!”I stared intently at the table of blades for a long time, my jaw tickin

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   TWO WORLDS

ATLASI bit my lips hard, my hands balling into fists at my side.Fuck. I shouldn’t have said what I said..or in the way I said it.Traumatized? What the hell was I thinking? But then, I didn’t want to lie to her, or give her the wrong impression about me, or give her a false image of myself.I had to let her know in some way, give her a little hint, that I wasn’t even a bit as good as she thinks.I mean, I know she probably doesn’t think of me as a good man, seeing how she glared at me every chance she got. But I was worse than whatever it was she was thinking.“Well,” she stared in a sharp, crisp tone, “I’ll be taking my leave now.” She squared her shoulders, glancing down at Braden’s headstone. “You can stay all you want, and don’t even think of stalking me again, else you’d be pushing me to get a restraining order against you.”I couldn’t help the scoff that escaped my lips. “A restraining order against your boss?” I returned in a sarcastic tone. “I mean, I’ve never heard of that.

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   Who the hell are you?

ELENA“What the fuck you doing here?” I demanded, my voice sharp as steel.Atlas paused a few steps away from where I sat, staring down at me with a blank expression.I bolted to my feet moments later, enraged. “Are you stalking me now?” I queried, my tone growing harsher. “Is that it?!”That would explain why he was here, in this graveyard, right? Could he be here because of Braden? No… how would that happen? Why did he keep popping up everywhere I went, in my head and all?The expression on his face shifted to a slightly puzzled look, and I blew out a blast of air in annoyance, pushing my fingers through my hair.“Look, Atlas,” I started in a pissed tone, glaring at him, “I’ve had enough of you and your bullshit today, trust me. You and every other fucking Grant. So I believe it would be best if you just stayed away from me, huh?”Without waiting for a response, I tumbled the rest of the wine in my mouth, and crouched down to snatch up the box I’d come with.“Excuse me,” I bumped in

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   A place to go

ELENAI had barely gotten any farther away from Luke, not even close to the door, when he suddenly grabbed my wrist from behind, whirling me around to face him. I glared up at him, forcing myself to not wince from the pain of being held so tightly. Roughly. Viciously.“What?” I snapped when he wouldn’t say anything, staring down at me with a mix of confusion and rage on his face. Almost like he couldn’t figure out how I’d gotten so gutsy…“So,” he started, his tone cold, “you’re gutsy enough to give me warnings now, huh?”I shoved his wrist off, shrugging. “Well, you could say, ‘more self aware’.”I scoffed as his pupils dilated in even more surprise, and I flipped my hair backwards. “Stay the fuck away from me, Luke.”As I turned around again, he followed me still, out of the room and down the stairs, howling threats at me. “Think you can come into my house and give me warnings?” He yelled, his voice straining with agitation. “I’ll fucking ruin you, Elena! Don’t you dare me!”Comp

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   BRACE YOURSELF

ELENAI watched as Atlas picked up the document and threw it down in front of him, keeping his gaze fixed on mine all the while. His gaze was electrifying, and somehow rid me of every saliva in my mouth, making me squirm in my seat.“Are you going to sign that or not?” I croaked out, sticking out my tongue and running it across my lower lip.He cocked a brow as his fingers skimmed the document to the last page. “Did I say I wasn’t going to?” He shot back, his voice low and husky, his eyes dark and droopy.I adjusted again in my seat, clearing my throat as I suddenly felt small under his intimidating gaze. “Well, uhm,” I licked my lips again, my teeth grazing it a bit, “you’re just wasting a lot of time, so I think m-maybe you don’t want to. Because if you’re cool with the terms, you would have—“He scoffed in a surprisingly polite manner, cutting me off, then bent his head and scribbled his signature at the bottom of the page. “You didn’t think I was simply mesmerized by your beauty?”

  • Falling in love with the Devil’s son   UNSPEAKABLE THINGS

ELENAI’d spent the past few days pondering so hard on everything that’s happened recently, and the crazy web of fate I’d found myself tangled in, with the Grants.Just why in the flying fuck was all this happening?First it was Braden, the one I actually loved. Then it was Luke. The bastard that deceived and seduced me just to steal from me.Now, it was Atlas. The drop-dead gorgeous, six feet tall, striking-blue-eyed man I’d impulsively had a night-stand with. All of them fucking Grants. How did I get here?No matter how much I thought about it, the blame kept falling to Braden. Yes… he was the reason I was in this mess.I mean, if he hadn’t kept me away from his family, shielded me away, I most probably wouldn’t have been in this mess. Because then, I’d have been able to tell what kind of person Luke was, and also know he had another gorgeous man for a brother.True, Braden had always told me his family were all bad people, and didn’t want me involved with them. It was only now I un
