The others surrounded her. Although still groggy, her enhanced senses allowed her to identify many enemies and the position they occupied in relation to each other. One enemy approached her, whispering into her ear promising that death awaited her once Edmund departed this plane of existence, then it slashed its claws downwards cutting open Eva's shoulder, causing fresh blood to spill forth. Another stood close-by holding her arm, twisting painfully against her will while urging her to speak. Yet another grabbed her hand, placing it on another wolf who proceeded to crush her bones beneath his feet as he glared angrily at her with venomous eyes and tightened his grip.

Nodding calmly, Eva looked directly into her mothers' face which conveyed complete peace of mind. Obviously, she didn't want to explain further, knowing that whatever was going on would hurt even more to Eva.
