ArianeI advance with a slow, feline step, like a lioness about to pounce on her prey. Each click of my heels on the floor echoes in the room like a warning. My gaze is burning, but with a cold, venomous burn. She, the little idiot at my feet, tries to look away. Too late. Far too late.I stop a breath away from her, leaning slightly.— Do you know why he didn’t call you? I ask softly. My voice is gentle, velvety, almost caressing… But it cuts like a cold blade. She doesn’t answer, but I see her throat tighten.— It’s because he is in a relationship with me. Now do you understand why I asked you that question? Why I look at you like you’re nothing? She trembles. Her hands tremble. Her whole body freezes.— Yes, ma’am… I understand. Please… don’t hit me again…She almost makes me laugh. Pity? What pity? I’m not here to feel sorry for her.I raise an eyebrow, straightening slowly.— Do you think you have the right to speak?I raise my hand without warning, and my palm slaps against her

So I will ask the question a second time, and you better answer me clearly. What are you doing here? She tries to go around me, to push me with her arm, but that's the worst mistake she could make. And you still haven’t answered my question. She twists under my grip.- Let me go… I will… I will answer you!I pull even harder, forcing her to bend. Tears roll down her cheeks.- Then speak. Ariane bursts into the room like a tornado, her arms loaded with clothes that she unceremoniously tosses onto the bed.Ariane— Can I know what you’re looking for? I ask her, raising an eyebrow, still wrapped up in my blanket.— What do you think? She rolls her eyes. I’m looking for something to wear. Your sweetheart bought you clothes worthy of a Hollywood star, so I’m going to help myself as it should be.I cross my arms, feigning annoyance.— You can be really unbearable sometimes, you know that? I thought you came here because you missed me. And I was all excited about having a pajama party with you…She gives me a half-amused, half-annoyed look.— Good Lord, Ariane, stop your drama. Your act to make me feel guilty doesn’t work on me.— Who says I’m pretending, huh? I speak from my heart.
