A lazy smile forms on her face when she stirs awake and feels the effects of Kieran’s assault on her body. Gosh, she missed this, missed how he worshipped her body and made her feel like she’s the most beautiful woman in existence.

She stretches and feels his arms tighten around her as he groans into her neck. “Hmm, good morning, beautiful,” he thrums, snuggling his stubbled face deeper into the nape of her neck. “I did, thanks to you,” she says, squirming at the feeling of his beard on her sensitive skin and turning around to face him. It is only then that she gets a proper look at him; bags under his eyes, gaunt face, and it looks like he hasn’t slept in days. Did she cause him to look like this by running away?
