Chapter 24

Meanwhile, Nera finished up all the sightseeing for the day with no Marcus in sight. She had tried to call him but opted out of it.

She could only assume that whatever he was dealing with was very important. Going alone to the waterfalls had given her piece of mind. Marcus's idea was not bad after all.

She called the driver and asked him to take her shopping. She rarely did any shopping back home because the town was so small and any outing meant bumping into judging eyes and gossipers.

The new state gave her the freedom to go anywhere without people judging her for marrying an old man or not getting pregnant.

Her driver picked her up and took her to a shopping mall. He was relieved to see her finally smile.

She walked into the mall with the intention of buying some summer hats. She asked an assistant in the store and was given an aisle number.

She headed straight in that direction but stopped when she saw the baby aisle. A small voice told her to ignore it, but she was tempted.
