CHAPTER 1

Fang city_ The capital of the vampire Empire.

"Run call for the physician" the chief maid who had just ran into the queen's room shouted. A maid had suddenly screamed from Zara's hall_ the queen's chamber, others came rushing in, only to meet their Queen Struggling with her breath, while gasping for air.

The queen's room turned into a panic conference, maids running from one place to the other, as they watched their queen struggle more with blood starting to ooze from her nose.

The maid who she had talked to ran out, as the queen coughed, bringing out more blood. "Inform the king, his highness palace" the chief maid ordered again, pointing to another maid who was standing in a daze surprised at what was happening. "Now! The chief maid shouted, pulling the girl out of her daze.

The maid scrambled out of the room, running to the King's chambers. She bumped her head into the door as she hurried out, but didn't bother about the pain, she ran all the way to inform the chief guard_Fedrick, who informed Raymond immediately.

The Doctor who was earlier sent stepped into the room, just in time to watch the queen take her last breath. The room busted into round loud cries as they saw their queen struggling and suddenly go limp.

Raymond was welcomed by their cries, which had extended to the entrance of the queen's chamber. His heart began thumping against his chest. " no, no no!" He repeated to himself. "It can't be" he muttered again under his breath.

He, entered the queen's hall quickly, he wanted to run, down to his wife's room, but he knew, he shouldn't be seen that way. His long dark gold hair ran down his shoulder loosed, his blue eye held anxiety and fear, while his unknotted rode was sent flying with the breeze that followed his large strides.

He had rushed over immediately after he got the information, he didn't waste any time dressing up, Raymond rushed into the room, from afar his eyes caught his wife's motionless body, with his, eyes still open, he turned to the physician for answers, he could put things together and know the situation, but he didn't want to believe that.

"Have you given her anesthesia to put her to rest, she would be fine right?" He asked Impatiently with his eyes begging to be told that he was right, that his Queen would be okay, that she was just resting, "I'm sorry, your majesty" The doctor said. "you are what! Why are you sorry?" He asked as his breathing became heavier.

"Am sorry you Majesty, we've lost her," the doctor finally said, confirming his fears, "She was poisoned, there was nothing I could do, It spread so fast in her body before I could get here, it had done..... Am sorry your majesty" the doctor added in a whisper.

Raymond's shoulders dropped, gradually, as his face fell. He stood for a while, staring at his wife's body "no, no no no" he said as he dragged himself towards her, he stepped on his robe and almost fell, but was held by Fedrick.

He stopped only when he reached her bedside, tears welling up in his eyes, threatening to pour down"Fedrick" he called gently, "your highness" the guard responded immediately. "Tell everyone to leave the hall, I want no one in Zara palace tonight," he said.

Within a few seconds, the room was empty. Everywhere became so quiet that all that could be heard was the uneven breathing of Raymond and his beating chest.

Slowly Raymond sat close to his queen, a tear dropped but he quickly held the rest back, His mind was blank for a moment, he stared at his beautiful wife for what seemed like hours, and then suddenly, like waves, memories came rushing, times they had spent loving each other, their memories crushed in on him like they were going to flood his mind. "No, no, no!" He yelled "this can't be happening, I must be dreaming, yeah, this is just one bad dream" He hoofed gasping for air.

And, though his heart really wanted to believe that, really wanted to cling on to that little ray of hope, his brains said otherwise. Reality rubbed in his face as he stretched gently and touched her lifeless face, "why, Who did this to you?" He mumbled looking into her motionless eyes. "Who dared to mess with me, with us?"

"Why would you leave me, why would you leave us? Tell me, what happens to our son, to Regal, you know it, you said so yourself that am not so good with kids, remember? Now, what happens to him? Have you forgotten we both promised to be there, to watch him grow into a loveable man, he's just four years, how would he grow up without his mother?" He asked helplessly as anger began rising in him.

His deep blue eyes were soon burning red and his claws were all out, he opened his mouth, revealing a pair of long fangs at his upper and lower gum, anger built up in him.

"You said you would be here, then why, what happened to your promise, our promise? And me, how do you want me to live, how do I live without you? He roared as he dug his long fingers Into his palm and blood came rushing out. " Ahhhhhhh" he screamed digging his finger further into his palms.

He screamed more and more before finally pulling his fingers out and breaking into uncontrollable tears.

"They dared to touch you, they dared to go against me, cowards! Why didn't they come directly for me, bloody cowards, I will hunt you all and get you down" he yelled to no one but the empty room

His voice echoed in the room, hitting him back, he fell to the ground, drained and exhausted,

"It's all my fault," he said in a whisper, his big palms covering his face, "I was careless, forgive me, please, I promise, I don't know how, I don't know, but I would take care of Regal, for your sake, it's the lest I can do after sending you off like this, and it's my duty as his father. Yeah, I know am bad with kids" he hoofed a pathetic laugh "but I would take care of him" he said as he moved to hold her hands, " for you, for me, for all that is left of us. But I vow, I will find all those responsible for this, I Raymond would find them one by one and get them all down".

Raymond, I could tell he was angry, but beyond that, the amount of pain he felt at that moment was undeniably torture. If misery was a person, that would probably be him right now. He felt lost, knocked down, like he was sinking into this big unending hole, with stones raining down at him all at once.

How he planned to raise Regal in this state seem impossible to me. Revenge? I can't even tell the suspect, no one here seemed to me like a bad guy, but I guess this was what made it more interesting.

Raymond's broad back arched down as he bent over and covered Zara's motionless eye, he pulled a blanket over her face and turned away, leaving the hall, " make preparations, inform the council, we would bury her as soon as possible" Raymond said to Fedrick who was still on alert, guarding the entrance of the chamber.

"Yes, your majesty" Fedrick replied as he followed behind Raymond who had walked out, without waiting for a response, with his shoulder bent low and his steps missing the usual majestic grace.

Raymond walked on for a while and stopped abruptly, "Fedrick" Raymond called as a thought had just flashed in his brain "send for Jackson tonight, tell him I want him at the palace before dawn tomorrow" Raymond ordered, "Yes your Majesty", Raymond turned to go but stopped again "this is a silent order" he added, "I understand your Majesty" Fredrick replied.

The palace turned ghost silent again, birds screening in the distant night as they both walked further away, Raymond's shoulders still arched down, with the echoing sound of their heavy feet banging against the tiled marble floor.

At luna land, was Diana_ a werewolf in serious pain, she had been in labor for almost an hour now. Alfred, Diana's husband, held her hand, trying to calm her and at the same time, strengthen her, but it just wasn't helping matters, besides he was also anxious, almost like he was the one in labor. He grab her hand tighter, and she clutched onto him like her life was hanging out to it, "sweetheart you can do this" he said as sweat poured down from his face.

Diana, shouts pierced through the beautiful night and her screams became louder with each passing moment, it was unbearable. Bathed in her sweat, the wolf in her kept howling and whining in pain.

As it got more intense, her fingers pulled forward, revealing long claws, she dug her claws into the bed where she was lying, and her furs grew out from her both hands. She screamed even louder, and her eyes shot open, revealing flaming burning pupils.

"Push Diana, the baby's head is already out," Madam Doris one of the werewolf nurses said. The labor lasted for about two hours, and then a baby girl was born.

Diana collapsed into the bed, her heart beating heavily, "sweetheart, I am sorry, you will be fine, we have a baby girl" he paused peeping at the child in Madam Doris' arms, "she's beautiful, just like you" he added while still clutching to his wife's hand.

Diana, turned gently to her darling husband, smiling as her eyes relaxed, turning back to their original winter grey color. Her claws and furs

Alfred held onto her hand not letting go, "Darling, I want to see her" Diana said releasing his hands, Alfred collected the child from the nurse and brought the child close to Diana, Diana's smile grew wilder, she could see her and her husband in the little one.

Her hair was shining sliver just like Alfred's, her cute palm size face, with those long lashes, just like her mother's. "Alexandria, her name is Alexandria," Diana said.

You would probably be wondering, what this is all about, who I am, and what exactly am I blabbering about. Well, let's start with this, you can call me "the unnamed" because what I tell you is something you should bother more about. They are the scene that kept hovering in my mind, like the mist in the air.

What's all this about? This was all made up of Series of scenes that teased my mind, whether it was a dream, a vision, a past occurrence, or maybe a visit to my former life, I really can't tell... If I was a hovering wind, at this place of my visit watching this scene unfold, I would as well believe.

What more could explain how these scenes aligned perfectly in my mind and how my emotions came this strong and real and even as I picked up my pen to write, they just seem to pour out freely Like I have been there and saw it all.

How it all began? In the state of... What was it called again.... Oh yes! Demeris, from a faraway country I believe. Where it all began.

Demeris is made up of three clans of might, intellectuals, and power that coexisted with unresolved hatred.

The werewolves clan, The vampires, and the humans were the three clans that made up Demeris.

The werewolves were quite rural, they had a strong uncivilized, kingdom. The werewolf kingdom was also known as 'The luna land'. According to the humans they were animals and nothing more, they existed as the mortal enemy of humans.

The humans despised the werewolves especially because of their heinous transformed look. The humans were intellectually strong, you know, those guys that had all the technology, and artificial intelligence. This was humans' strength.

The vampires on the other hand explored the field of merchandise like their own, though the humans didn't also like them, they were more accepted compared to the werewolves.

The vampire clan had a developing kingdom, unlike the undeveloped society of the werewolves, Their city was also known as the Fang city and they were governed by a great ruler, his Highness Raymond.

Raymond was one of the greatest Kings the vampires had. He was responsible for the upgrade of their economy through merchandise. Fang city also explored the mining industry, they were known to possess and sell a lot of rare gems.

The humans, on the other hand, had the greatest population in that country but only a few who stayed in Demeris knew of the existence of the vampires and werewolves who co-habited their lands with them.

At the human lands in Demeris, an Academy was established basically to fight, subdue, and ostracized the werewolf and vampire to keep things in balance, so they said.

The academy's aim also includes protecting humanity from any attack from these beings whom they thought dangerous to live or exist around them.

Humans launched attacks at any slightest opportunity. This was a reminder to the werewolves that they were still in charge. Left to them, they would have had the werewolves and even the vampires killed and disappear, but for some reason, it just hadn't happened.

Whether it was possible or whether they had something to gain from keeping them alive is something I and you are yet to know.

Things could have remained like this just as they had for years and centuries, but as they say, change is the only constant thing. Therefore even this extraordinary state of Demeris couldn't escape change.

Change, yes, it crept in, in its sly nature as it usually does, into Demeris.

And it all began on this creepy, quiet and intense night, Demeris was ghost quiet, and even the animals seems to pay homage, only the whistling sound of the chilling breeze, against tree leaves, could be heard.

It was like the world stood still that night. The weather outside was chilling but inside these houses and palace was steaming, each taking on the labour for this change!
